He was my favorite LB in the portal. He is a freak that will help fill the gap while Atkinson learns

Wow, that's big - won't miss BB.

Lol and they still got beat by ECU, no wonder he wanted out.

Having his blitzing ability at LB with Zeno and Simons of the edges on 2nd or 3rd and long is going to be terrifying

Big get!! LB room going to be solid next year. Good thing as based on OL the D will be on field 2/3 of the games.

…weekend ain’t over

Hell yes. That's what I wanted to hear. Here's hoping Smothers, the Yale kid, and another IOL (or 2. Or 3) are next

So we won't have any dropoff from losing Anthony Hill? That's real neat.

Muschamp has his side of the ball on lock. Literally the only negative you could point to on defense was Barnes leaving when we wanted to keep him, but now he turns around and lands the best LB in the portal.

AI Overview

"Smothers" most commonly refers to Hollywood Smothers, a prominent college football running back recently transferred to the Alabama Crimson Tide from NC State, known for his explosive playmaking. It can also refer to the late comedian Tom Smothers (of The Smothers Brothers) or Smothers Auto Parts, a well-known auto shop in Santa Rosa, CA.

Bama site saying that Coleman may stay and go to their game vs Texas tonight. That poor kid deserves every penny of the ~3 million he is chasing if he has to endure Texas basketball during two different visits.

He should announce that the loser of the game will earn his commitment. We would be a guarantee.

....what is the point of this?

On the D side fo the ball what "needs" are still there? I don't see a real CB1 guy still out there and Mascoe adds depth at worse. So we need a a sarting Safety and then trophy hunt potential upgrades or dpeth??

Bo Barnes looking like a clown lol. Great decision making young man.

I appreciate his sacrifice

When Arch came to visit we lost our game. Our arena is impressive even if our BB team sucks. As long as it doesn’t inspire him to play basketball for us. Which probably isn’t a bad thing.

This year is a beating, but mostly because we have no control of any of it. *We never did before, either.

It’s crazy because this version of CFB will work much more in our favor than it will work against us. Patience grasshoppers.

its a beating because our so called insiders have no idea how to build a story. theyve been blaring from the roof tops that we were all in. we were going to be spending the money and then the first week rolled by and it could be described as nothing but an abject failure.

It has to do with a certain WR target we were in on last year who just lost his playoff game last night. There's a "chance" he may want to move. Take it for what it's worth.

There has been a rumor about Moore & Texas circulating since Thanksgiving. I will stick my mantra regarding this cycle - I’m from Missouri on that one. Heard too much bullshit just like it in each of the last 3 cycles.

Well it's not really news. It's a lot of speculation and it all feels a bit dramatic for what it is and drawn out. The NFL doesn't have all this drama and bullshit for free agency. Most of it happens very quickly and expeditiously. This just feels very amateur hour.

I think it's highly entertaining and hilarious at times. It's also frustrating because of the mechanical sloppiness.

Some people don't like rampant speculation for weeks on end with no clear vision or substance.

I enjoy it, but I am a talent acquisition junkie. Roster management is always interesting, even when the way it is impacted shifts.

As I wrote earlier this week, I definitely think recruiting is about to change in fascinating and potentially crushing ways. The Texas money is already taking the position that the guys getting money before they’ve shown college bonafides are a very limited set of “sure things” each cycle. That’s going to be a range of 3-10 each cycle and the rest of the recruits will be purely developmental evaluations.

Should actually be pretty interesting in terms of how each school starts prioritizing.

The real clown was the poster last night who said we downgraded from Barnes with the FSU LB, as if we were done at tha position lol

Zeno won't pick up a single sack next year. According to his own paradox he'll never make it to the quarterback

I forgot who he was until I did a search. At the time I chuckled, but apparently I was on a Biles high.

That is starting to sound like the NHL and MLB draft approach where after the true amazing stars, the range in development potential/growth from 17 to 19 makes it an extreme crapshoot.

Since we are wishing, do we wish for Moore or Coleman?

100% Coleman. An experienced WR1 who wins 50/50 balls is #2 on the list behind OL.

Raleek Brown is getting paid $1M? Are we fucking retarded?

Our SEC compatriots last offseason found future NFL RBs at prestige football schools such as Buffalo, ULM, and and South Alabama

Brandon Harris being a GM of a top ten team shows the recruiting power of money, Texas Brand, and Arch Manning. I mean holy shit we are fucking dumb

Desperate not retarded. Jerk

Granted, I don't know shit about fuck. But with what's going on in recruiting, the GM of a major university football program ( insert UT here) needs to be a sales/ marketing savant with a huge staff of numbers guys behind him.

Not some room temp IQ yes man.

We can argue about misses. Whether they stayed at their original school , or went somewhere else. But there has been failure. Idk what the real story behind the Michigan OLs staying put. But if they stayed for a good bit less money, something is wrong there on the Texas end. One staying? Maybe. Both? Naw. Something ain't right on our end.

Texas needs a closer who can get it done. Harris ain't it.

He might have worked in the past. But this is a whole new ball game. And dude ain't equipped for this shit.

I think as opposed to something being super fucked up on the Texas end, it was more a mediocre GM deeply underestimating the power of inertia, especially for bluebloods with top of the line everything.
