Go to a high school football game in the valley with Helobious.

I assume the team has evaluated and is using the latest technologies to perform better in games, such as Cognilize, the software Jayden Daniel’s used to win the Heisman. If they aren’t, why not? It completely transformed Daniel’s decision making.

I mean, Daniels is the only name I have ever heard associated with this thing and it making a notable difference. Are there any other examples? Genuinely asking.

I haven’t heard of others either, but if I were the coach of a college team I would have immediately gone out to evaluate it. The impact on Daniels was dramatic and immediate in college and also in the nfl.

Why would you take 8-4 though?  I'm not saying that we won't finish worse- but that's a fail for the season the same as 7-5 or 6-6 or 5-7.  Point being, there's nothing good that comes from 8-4, and it's possible that 8-4 might lead to less soul search than some lesser record.

No QB has gotten better. Arch seems to be much worse.  It's bizarre. He's been good at the whole offense thing in the past.

I disagree completely. 5-7 in year 5 is 100% a fireable offense and the recruiting WILL CRATER.

8-4 is a big step back, but recruiting will only drop off.

Those are real and worth a moment of research.

Mosley was open a lot and looks smooth with the ball in his hand (the limited times that has happened). Now if Arch could actually hit him

I might rather Jaggerson replace Wingo at this point. Not that it would really matter.

We can throw the ball at Jaggerson’s feet too. Maybe he’ll dive for it instead of kicking at it

Does happy hour mean drinking, or getting a handy? I'm done with drinking, but for bonus content I'll let him wear his mask, but he has to use sterile gloves.

That and imagine if Wingo caught balls thrown a touch behind him like that receiver did to bail out that "shitty" throw from Pavia.

I will be stunned if we claw our way to 8-4. Beating any of Georgia, Vandy or A&M would be shocking at this point, and Miss St. is going to be a dog fight.

I think we are truly a 50/50 shot against MSU and the home games that are left.  Georgia is going to be asswater.

aggy is probably a loss.  the get a fucking bye before our game and we play Arkansas.

I hope that bullshit November bye shit changes next year

Oh jesus that's a tough catch either way, and I'd probably say this throw wasn't as far behind.

Texas at 11 with near identical rating to Georgia is pretty funny.  But offense at 58 is damn pathetic, although oddly not too surprising given the play at interior OL and QB.

We got to the semifinals two years in a row on the strength of the defense, and defense remains great.  It is Sark's side of the ball that has been limiting the ceiling of the team three years running.

I get we’re sad and mad, but I still hate revisionist history. Our 2023 run defense was elite, but the pass defense was easily our biggest issue as a team. The dynamic of that team was not like the last two

Also, to the playoff discussion, the way we get in at 9-3 would be that the committee uses their new criteria to drop our out-of-conference loss to Ohio State. I don’t know if that happens, but the narrative leading up to the game is that neither team should be punished for scheduling it if they lose. I don’t think there’s really a path to us getting in at 9-3 on resume or eye test.

I said she's a 9 out of 10, you clueless, janitorial tard queef. For someone who thinks they understand numbers, apparently 9/10 is astrophysics to you. The comedy you keep bringing is only matched by Helobious' Chicano obsession.

But but but I thought you didn't care what I think, Closetojagging?

No, they're not. We aren't losing to those rubes. They're fool's gold. Transitive property or not, Arky made them sweat by beating them by 3 against a roster full of lower tier FBS/FCS guys who are now at their 3rd or 4th school (that's not hyperbole, either), and they beat Auburn by 6, and could only manage 16 points. A team that has no QB, can't get the ball to their best WR in Cam Coleman, and has no running game except for Cobb, who isn't "terrible", but he's going into something other than sports.

They aren't putting 16 against our defense, I don't care how bad we are offensively. We will always find a way to dunk on those dweebs. Add beating aggy are part of things that are constant on this earth - gravity, earth spinning 1.038 mph at the equator, African children getting malaria and/or dengue, Closetojagging being wrong, Helobious cursing us. Some things are just what they are.

If we're 9-3 that means we only lost one of our remaining five games. Assuming that loss is to UGA, we'd have wins over a top-15 OU, a top-10 Vandy, and a top-10 A&M. Our losses would be to OSU, UGA, and a head scratcher against Florida. If we kept it close in the loss to UGA, you would 100% see a push to put Texas in the CFP.

That being said, I still think we get left out at 9-3. Don't want to get left out? Don't lose to Florida.

I agree the pass defense was the weakness of that phase.  But they had a much more difficult test than the offense when it mattered.  Washington was elite on offense and mid on defense.  Texas offense also liked to disappear for stretches of the game and put the defense in a bind.

First three Texas possessions of the second half:

Fumble

Punt

Fumble

To their credit they at least had converted a Washington fumble into points with a short field, otherwise they would have been at more or less Washington's average points allowed (24.8).

Or you can just look at OFEI and DFEI or whatever you like.  Offense has been consistently lower rated than the defense.

I think if we go 9-3, it will likely come down to whether our offense improved down the stretch. If we win a bunch of 17-13 games and our offense continues to play they all met each other 15 minutes before the game, I think there will be end up being enough teams with comparable resumes that we'd get left out on optics. The good news is, we are not going 9-3 and we will probably wake up feeling the cheesiest some time in December.

Well I misremembered end of season SP+ ratings, so this claim doesn't hold up.  SP+ was offense 6, defense 13.  FEI was flipped 19 and 6 respectively.

Sark got soft in the offseason and his side of the ball got soft with him.  I'm shocked 18-22 year olds might coast if the coach lets off the gas pedal a bit.

To clarify, our offense plays like they all met each other fifteen minutes before the game, they hate each other, they were all given different playbooks, and someone drugged the QB.
