Miami jumping Georgia Tech while they beat an awful Syracuse team (and GT was on a bye) is hard to reconcile.   They just heard criticism so bumped Miami up?  Also, as predicted, they may end up backing themselves into a corner based on where they slotted Utah last week (had to keep BYU in front of them) but we'll see how it plays out.  The non-ACC teams behind those 2 all have opportunities for resume wins where they could jump them.

Didn't one of them say something about how the committee was aware that GT won a game directly off of a bad call? That might play into it, I'm not sure if I agree with it.

I mean yes, and GT absolutely did, but that was weeks ago.  I'm not disagreeing with the new ranking.  Miami would probably be favored by close 7 over GT on a neutral field.  I'm saying they had to have heard the criticism last week as nothing that happened on the field could justify the flip flop.  I mean we all know this but just further proof the committee can just kind of do what they want week to week without logic.

Mack Rhodes said the ACC only has 1 signature non-conf win (Miami over ND)

I guess FSU made it out of the ACC after all

Probably just misspoke because FSU is unranked/irrelevant and Miami is in the mix.

We are going to lose Saturday night, bigly. Unfortunately some can’t handle me saying that around here.

The Sark threads will be very active all next week wondering how we wasted yet another season.

Isn't it more likely than not? They're favored by almost a TD.

I understand being confident about winning, and being called pussies if you have any doubt.... but not sure we need to saying 'we're losing" like it's set in stone either.

Georgia is a terrible matchup for us, particularly this season. I think it could get ugly quick.

Don’t forget to wash your hands after your circle jerk with Sark.

Your lame schtick is beyond tiring.   It's not "honest opinions" - It's constant negative gloom and doom bullshit before every game is played and then excusing away success when it happens. You hate everything about Sark and this football team.  We get it. That's fine.  Go find a team you actually like and support them so everyone else isn't subjected to your constant bitching.

Aggy has the better resume in pure W-L.

Indiana was looking unstoppable until last week, while aggy looks pretty stoppable.  I'd go IU -> tOSU -> aggy, but there's arguments for whichever way.  I don't think the CFP changes what they have without a pretty compelling reason.

It’s all just noise to me at this point. You want to be poised to have a bye and enough meat yet to keep it or move up and get one. If you’re bunched at 1-4 it will work out.

If A&M finished with wins over USCe and Texas while Indiana closes with Rutgers and Purdue, my eyes will raise a bit if we don’t jump at least IU. Either IU or OSU will take an L if not two given the Big Ten CCG. An undefeated SEC champ should be 1 overall and a 1 loss SEC champ should be no lower than 2 IMO. But could see the committee saying that tOSU stays 1 till they lose.

If we lose a close one versus Texas and that shoves us behind both Bama and Georgia that will be obnoxious. Maybe justified based on overall body of work, but for sure not a clear-cut call.

Ehh even when Texas  has looked bad they don't get blown out.  sure it could be 7-14 points. But it won't be crazy even if it goes bad.

Cmon man. This is just like 2023 when you were just so sure that we were going to get left out of the playoffs for 1 loss Georgia, 1 loss Bama, and undefeated FSU. You looked like an ass then and you are going to look like one now. I am once again going to ask that you step into the light with us and embrace that this team is going to beat UGA this weekend.

Indiana is 10-0 and the others are 9-0, so... huh?

aggy has wins over better teams on the whole.  I'm disagreeing with Mandel myopicly saying that UI>Oregon vs aggy>ND means Indiana has a better resume.

The Committee will ignore whatever they want to get the teams they want in.  ND brings eyeballs.  Texas brings eyeballs.

I don't know why ND's volleyball team doesn't just donate their knee pads to the committee?

I’d take GT and the points and wouldn’t be at all surprised if the Jackets won.

Which is why it's going the way of the Dodo bird soon.

Especially if they can't really punish the team losing the game by dropping them out of the top 10-12

Who could have seen this coming with all the megaconferences forming

Who I ask you, who

A conference pod with a few crossover games then a short "playoff" would be fucking awesome in conference play. Play 5 games then 3 "flex/playoff" and a CCG.

Oh, wow, megaconferences with no clear divisions have arcane and counterintuitive routes to a championship? Been amazing to see how long it took sports media to internalize that the thing guaranteed to happen, would happen.

Shouldve happened last year with Aggy but they literally choked their dicks off against Auburn and Miss St.

You're the one who said "pure W-L", thus my confusion. You're talking about something deeper than W-L record.

I think what eventually happens if more Auto qualifiers are added is an intra-conference playoff that doesn't determine a "conference champion" but determines remaining playoff spots.  For example, if SEC had 4 auto qualifiers, something like top 2 SEC teams qualify automatically and get a "bye' that weekend into the playoff and then the seed 3 plays seed 6 and seed 4 plays seed 5 on "conference championship day" to lock up the remaining 2 auto qualifier spots.  Solves the issue of meaningless SEC championship games (from a playoff perspective) and adds an additional high $$ game to sell to the networks.

yup, like wild card playin games that are coordinated into games that haven't been yet played for the first level

If it happened this year it might be say

Georgia vs OU and Texas vs Ole Miss , then the winners of those games play
