Man. This is the second time today you've posted old shit. Do you even read this thread? The 11 warriors blog was posted yesterday, immediately, and dissected over the course of several pages by us. This Film Guy video was posted 8 fucking days ago. Do you think it hasn't made it's way here?

I'd highly suggest you actually read the thread instead of just posting on it. It's a way more informative experience.

It's almost like Ryan Day wants to prove that he's the key to OSU's success, and that he can run the table without Knowles and Chip Kelly.  Why else go back to calling plays from the sideline and bringing in an NFL guy to run someone else's defense.  This either works or it doesn't, but to me it looks like a risky short-term strategy.  Day is trying ride the momentum he's had in recruiting rather than take a step back and replace both coordinators with more permanent options.  It worked for Nick Saban more often than not, but I don't know that I've ever seen it work for anyone else.

It's nothing to do with ego or stubbornness. It was February when Knowles changed jobs. There weren't great options to replace him and Ohio State retained the rest of their defensive staff. Patricia was hired to make defensive game plans and call games within the existing structure of the team rather than to be an architect of the defense. In that sense, hiring an NFL coach makes sense as NFL defenses are often determined by the personnel that the front office selected rather than the schematic preferences of the DC.

Knowles system is very specific. I think it is unlikely that Patricia will run the same system.

Knowles never ran purely his system at Ohio State. Knowles was a 3-3-5 guy at Okie St but capitulated to using a 4-man front because Ohio State's personnel had all been recruited as such. The $2 million dollar paycheck and having 6'5" freaks at DE helped coax him into a 4-man front as well.

Where is this notion that Patricia was brought in to be some sort of Ohio State scheme caretaker coming from? Bucknuts is talking daily about how their insiders tell them that Patricia is pushing forward "his install" and crafting up "new exotics" to confuse the Texas OL and Manning.

Technically, I didn't attack you in my post. I pointed out some direct actions you've taken multiple times today, and I asked you a question and suggested an alternative strategy of participating on this thread. Feeling attacked is your own personal reaction to what I said of your actions. I can't control your Shame. That being said...

I don't attack people who don't do or say stupid fucking shit. It's not a hard concept...for most.

Technically, you're still full of shit.

You can't post without attacking people from your jaundiced view of what's stupid and what isn't, and you shouldn't even fucking care.

You attack people all the goddamned time, and you can't help but do it every goddamned time.

You obviously enjoy it, and you're a sad sack.

So, as I said, you go on, go fuck yourself, rotate it, and have a fun time!

its more the back end and philosophy. It was a modification to his fly over defense from OSU. We shall see what they run. Knowles feuded with the staff last year and eventually won out. I am not sure that happens this year, as Patricia is not going to have the same level of belief in the system as Knowles. We will find out on Saturday

Brilliant, factual analysis. Tremendously done. Definitely better than "I know you are but what am I."

I can and do all the time. I also post a lot of, objectively, hilarious gifs. Although I'm not sure I SHOULDN'T care about people posting old and already well discussed topics, articles, and links on this website. Why stop at week old shit? Why don't you post some links form Spring Camp?

Empirically false statement. See above.

I mean, I don't hate calling stupid things stupid. I don't hate making fun of sooners and aggies. I don't hate pointing out bad posters, because it makes the site better. But it's hardly the reason I get out of bed in the morning. I'd much, MUCH prefer it if people didn't post old shit that's been debated and processed over the course of several pages like they're bringing a fucking treat to the board.

You know what, I just might do that. I've got some time to kill before I take my kid to soccer practice. Not that you'd ever know about it, you non-reading fuck.

Seriously. Just read the thread. Consider my ask here, I'm just asking you to read a fucking thread before you post.

Which should work swimmingly with a defense that lost half of their starters and are definitely ready in game one to handle NFL level schemes. 2024 Michigan out front should have told ya.

This what I have been hoping to hear from OSU side. This is usually the mistake NFL coaches make coming to college. They over-complicate defenses and end up having a defense prone ot coverage busts.

I wouldn't trust reporters to parse what "install" means. They're still treating 4-2-5 as the base defense. Patricia is on record in the spring saying that he had to learn the defenses existing terminology. None of the position coaches on the staff are Patricia guys. It's safe to say that Patricia is the one who is adapting and accommodating here. As I said earlier in the thread, I expect Patricia will bring in novelty blitz packages and he will call the game different than Knowles. But the defensive philosophy is not changing in any radical way.

Frankly, I think the lack of clear hierarchy in the staff will mean Day will need to micromanage the defensive staff this season and it may take an incident like getting embarrassed by Texas or Penn St (or Michigan again) for Day to realize that's where his attention needs to go.

Without a spring game, it's been a long off-season for many and they are all hot and bothered...

What the hell does “rotate it” mean? I’m so out of the loop.

I interpreted it as akin to the response folks used to give when someone would shoot them a middle finger: "Why don't you sit on that and spin?"

Is BEVO making the trip?

Unfortunately no. He's got to travel by trailer and they don't like him to be in the trailer for more than 7 or 8 hours a day. That means the trip up to and back from Columbus would take like 6 days. Hard to justify taking Bevo's team on the road for that amount of time, especially since many of them are students who's school year is just starting.

Lol

1) Fuck you. Please don’t.
2) Why? If atm or OU were playing Ohio State, we would all be pulling for Ohio State. Because bad things happening to those two programs is what we want to happen all of the time.

If I had a good friend, whose grandson was playing QB for A&M, I would probably text him to let him know that I was rooting for his grandson’s team. Because, you know, normal human things.

That being said, it is somewhat disconcerting to learn that Archie is friends with Barry Switzer.

Damn, the Rose Bowl trips have to be BRUTAL.

Barry Switzer is a charming motherfucker.  A few here have posted about meeting him.  I'd like to say that I'd tell him that it would be shame if a dump truck full of bricks fell on him, but I've heard he's quite the silver tongued devil.

It's xmas eve, eve.  Grab a six pack,  throw something on the grill, pick out a bottle of Weller 12 or similar quality sipping whisky, settle back,  bet Nebraska to cover,  and let the next 144 days of glorious college football wash over you.

I am not a normal human when it comes to this stuff. Those words could never leave my mouth. Or my phone.

No

If Hayden Connor can play a competent LG in this league, so can Stroh. The guy is fucking massive - just look at this guy. He's what you get if the Jolly Green Giant and Bigfoot procreate.

Offensive Guard, Texas Longhorns - NIL ...

Conner was only competent in pass pro. He was a negative in run game.

You can say that about Goosby's two starts, too, if you look at PFF's grades. But, we're all salivating over his potential. I believe in him, too, FWIW.

I don’t give two shits about pff grades. I saw Goosby moving defenders in the run game in his games played. I see Conner constantly being stonewalled and looking into backfield while RBs were tackled at LOS or for loss. Conner is a complete fucking negative in the run game.

Aren't his parents both Aggies?

As far as national podcasts, I listen to Cover 3 (mostly for Bud Elliott and Chip Patterson), The Audible (mostly for Bruce Feldman), Split Zone Duo, and the Solid Verbal.

All of them are good. None of them are really great.

Everyone gets a trophy for UT Football. Paul Waddlington and the great Randy Boone.

IT has some team notes today. Nothing groundbreaking, but they did say that Cole Brevard has recently been elevated to first team at DT. I suppose with the either January or Watson.

Did he make the Cardinals roster? I don't follow the NFL much.
