Sark cant win in the Big game.  He goes turtle tom.  He wins the rest but unless he changes we wont win a championship with him turtling in first half and in the redzone of big games.  Georgia twice and Ohio State twice.  0-4.  He needs an OC cause his balls shrink to nothing in big games.

Which plays are those? Should we try rolling him out and having him throw to wide open crosser with an option to run? Oh, he missed that multiple times? Should we aim to take shots down the field? Oh, he missed badly on those. Maybe we have him throw screens and swing passes? Oh, he threw those behind or at the feet of the receivers. I struggle how anyone could watch whatever the fuck just happened and think there was some play call that would magically work. Arch just needs to play better. A lot better. He had a good pocket. He had a decent run game. He had targets that were open. He just fucking sucked today.

I already told you multiple times what we should do but you don’t want to hear it.

Quick reads, rpo with qb run options, deep shots to the sideline. We had success doing those things today. That’s literally how we got in the red zone today.

He made two fantastic throws to the deep sideline, he had multiple good runs when he evaded the pocket. Literally the things we already knew he was good at. But we only called those things a handful of times

Guess who had the longest run of the day!

Guess who was just about tied for basically tied for #2 on ypc and total yards rushing!

Guess who improvised most of his rushing yards!

WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!? 7 months and our supposedly offensive genius HC and his 5 star qb that's been on campus for two years manage a single touchdown against a team breaking in a new DC?

FML.  Sark peaked in September of 2023. We've done jack shit against anybody with a pulse since then.

Jesus dude, chill. Odds are good that we will rematch them in the playoffs

Wingo was open. Moore was open. Baxter was open. There were plenty of plays to be made. He either didn't see them or couldn't get the ball near them.

Not down field.  They were open in the sweet zone Arch skipped in all day

That wasn’t a deep sideline throw but you don’t understand the difference

Honestly are we that irate about this game? True road game against an elite defense and only lost by a touchdown and held them to 14? I'd be more pissed if we were in mid-season and Arch is still making the same mistakes and receivers are still dropping balls against lesser and more pedestrian defenses. This is the type of game you just forget about and hope they get better as the season progresses. And somehow the red zone play calling just has to improve.

It’s not the loss. Or the score. It’s the complete futility on offense, just like Georgia twice, OSU twice….There’s really no excuse for that much futility.

Right. Then we decided to eliminate the pass as an option for Arch. Where was the play action? Roll out? Dump off near the LOS? He’s so good at the run-pass option and we only saw it once

No you’re just crazy and are making that up. He has no strengths

If Arch can get rattled in a game where his line gave him all fucking day to throw because club music was playing loud in the stadium we have big problems. He had clean pockets and receivers open all over the field. That 3rd and 5 on the last drive where he threw 1-2 yards behind a crossing receiver that would have easily converted a first down where arch threw side armed off his back foot was totally unacceptable for a third year QB. This is not about Ohio State, the guy had bad mechanics and accuracy and that has to be addressed yesterday or this is going to be a long season.

That throw to Endries was magic. Maybe Endries should be our feature receiver, since he is actually big fast and talented. Where were the TE plays the rest if the game?

Agree. Endries seems a suitable replacement for Helm.

The WO’s seem weak this year tho.

We are pretty much on the same page bro.  I'm not saying Sark was perfect, or even close, but Arch was far from..

Sark gets too obsessed with trying to win a psychological battle that has no tangible bearing on the actual game. Ramming it in from close with an interior OL not built for it, not taking 3 points, etc. I have a feeling he’ll age out of this mindset at some point soon

There is something to what you are saying. He gets so stubborn about just running it into a stacked line on 4th and 1. Over and over and over. It’s like he’s trying to will his team into being so damn tough they can move the line on anyone. But guess what. You can’t when you are playing OSU, Georgia, Bama, etc.

He had no strengths today. I think we all believe he has strengths. He couldn't execute them today. We tried the plays you wanted to run. He missed them all today, including a fucking a TD on an RPO. This is a ridiculous conversation if you can't admit that he wasn't executing anything consistently today.

We dont kink shame here

Maybe we should start, I blame us. Maybe it’s us. Maybe we need to try something different on this forum to get a win. Think outside the box. Kink shame away, just kidding, sark has never won the big one as the HC and people pointing to his lack of sobriety at his previous two stops in an easy fucking conference as HC prior to coming here are missing the point.

it’s virtually Impossible to win and be HC and OC at same time and Sark is still stubbornly trying to stick to it. If he persists things like penalties and red zone shit and missing shit in game like he continually does being on the sidelines and not in a booth continues to happen no matter the QB. Period.

So the issue extends beyond the QB play…..Sark is as overrated as they come.

I think the problem was that Sark could not get plays in on time that Surly was yelling for him to call.  Internet was spotty on the Texas sideline and the Surly advise was either garbled or not coming through.  Oddly, I hear that most of the posted critiques came through fine to Arch, he just ignored ‘em.

started with the failed 4th down on the first possession that should’ve been a PA rollout. Just… why? Why play like a big10 team from a decade ago?

Long developing plays against a defense that is as good as Ohio style and just sitting back will never work.

What difference does it make? Arch was consistently inaccurate hitting open receives on short/medium routes. He rarely had his feet set. I never expected the problems I saw today. This is very concerning.

Makes a huge difference. Look how throwing quick hitters early helped Sayin do.

Cool. So Arch fucked up some throws that would have picked up some 1st downs… and eventually got us to the red zone where Sark could fuck it up like he consistently showed today

Focus on this point for a minute. How many times have we seen mediocre teams play Texas over the last several years where they methodically throw short passes and work their way down the field against our defense: short curls, slants, screens, outs, etc.

Those teams don’t have 4-5 star receivers. They have a scheme to sit in the open areas of zone coverage, or run specific routes that are geared towards beating man, like the slant.

The lack of effective scheme and game planning is why the offense was bad, and then with Arch throwing poorly and receivers not getting separation on the wrong routes, the offense was putrid.

This.. I can get behind this. How many times did we see the pirate only need a QB who could hit a receiver in stride and a wr who could get an opening off their first step.  Fat linemen who only had to bump a faster, more talented lineman for a second...right now we have a line that had no problem giving the QB time, but we have WRs that don't get open and a QB that failed to hit the dumpoff
