I wasn’t impressive with any of the play calling. There wasn’t 1 drive that I though Sark did a good job of helping Arch get into a good flow. Hell, there wasn't a play that I thought damn, that was nice. Just a bunch of bland shit. Those QB keepers up the middle inside the 10 are lazy as fuck. Looked like Tom Herman and Sam. Sark needs to do a whole lot better.

Yes, he is. It isn't that he didn't play great. It isn't that he didn't play good. Mediocre play would have won us this game. He was flat terrible. He couldn't hit anything. Wide receivers were open on simple routes and he couldn't get the ball anywhere near them. He'll get better. He has to. But this game is on him. And that performance was only slightly above Card against Arkansas, and that's just because at least Arch never looked like was shitting himself scarred. He seemed relatively calm. His mechanics were just betraying him.

Let's also put blame that Sark not going for a FG after literally adding a kicker from the portal is negligence at best. We could have won this game.

I'm optimistic about the season. O-line looked solid. Defense is Elite. Arch just needs to be average and team can make a run.

Outside of some pre-snap penalties from Baker making his first start, I thought they did really good considering how much shuffling they’ve been doing. Sucks about the last play but for the most part they were nasty in the run game to the tune of 166 yards rushing and gave Arch plenty of time. It was nice to see a qb step up into the pocket and not self sack. Now, if Arch can settle down and hit the easy throws then we might be cooking upfront as the season goes on.

exactly. I know we all hate stark right now.  But arch was simply not good enough.  They win if he’s any better.

We can give up 1 more. Not 2. Sark fucked this one. 14 and we cannot got the W?! IM not concerned with O st… we have got to be able to pit the ball in the end zone.

I’ll say Arch fucked this one more myself. But both shoulder blame.

You're wrong. You're blind. First pass of the game should have been an explosive. Moore was wide open. Arch threw it in the dirt. Penultimate pass of the game was an easy crosser that may score a TD and tie the game. Arch throws a fast ball high and behind Wingo. He did that all game. I promise you if you just go watch every throw divorced from the game, you'll realize how fucking atrocious he really was. Middle school QBs could have done a better job.

Yea he was horrible. That doesn’t mean our gameplan was anything other than equally as horrible. Which is the same shit we’ve had to say every time we play a team with equal talent under sark.

The WR room is a big step back from the last 2 playoff runs. If whitey Mc jag is your go to that's an indictment.

If Wingo isn’t the go to then last year we only had Golden I guess.

Wouldn’t have needed those plays as much.  Probably kicking FGs there since the offense is moving better

You have to factor in self sacks, strip sack, fumbles, and WTF interceptions. We score more, but I’m assuming Ohio State score between 10 and 17 more points due to Quinn

Year 5 and still same issue.  There is no work to be done when the common denominator is your HC/OC.  He's retarded in RZ and taking points.

What are his strengths?

His athleticism and deep balls down the sideline. Which we ignored the entire game until it was already over. It’s pretty obvious he can’t sit in the pocket and throw the intermediate but we sure kept trying it.

kinda like how we kept trying to throw deep with Ewers who couldn’t do it

While I’m not going to disagree in general, it’s hard to tell if he could by how horrible arch was throwing it.

I mean he gave him some easy dump offs with wide open guys that arch flat missed.

We played the defending MNC team in our season opener. I get the online surly jitters and being upset but Ohio State is the defending champion with a brand new QB too. Both of our defenses are elite imo. This was even way lower scoring than the over/under. We played poorly and our elite defense kept us in this. Sark needs to relinquish play calling. I said it. He’s about as good an OC right now as our former HC Herman. Gimmicks have been figured out. Sucks in red zone.

Arch made shit throws today. Yep, saw em. I also saw he most of the time had zero to throw too. But on short throws and intermediate ones he was off today. Which he was facing one of the best defenses people will face all damn year on his first away game as a starter. We know he can be accurate. He was off today. We weren’t in synch. He will be and we will make the CFP and this idea we have to be undefeated which is way too hard to do now to be MNC is also bullshit. You can lose a game like this and still make the show, we will make it. But sark needs to hang up his play calling duties period, arch will improve and play fine, he will get better and he will hit an amazing stride this year, but. The play calls in big games by Sark who has been here long enough we can see it’s him needs to get an OC.

Look at the stats below:

Screenshot_20250830_143506_Chrome.thumb.jpg.74530aa50d07f9be6dd2d297dbd5c6ae.jpg

Our D gave up 203 yards to OSU at home allowing only 2.3 yards per rush.

I'm going to keep pointing back to the fact that we ran the ball, in the middle, 4 times against a D known to be great in the middle.

Arch is young, made a lot of mistakes and took too long to adjust. However, our coach didn't adjust to what OSU was doing defensively.

Sark continues to have issues against good teams in the redzone.

Washington, Georgia 1 and 2, OSU, OSU.

Others have said it but Sark isn't making adjustments to his RZ game.

No play action, no bootleg, no RPO and 4 runs up this middle is shit.

All of our losses in big games with equal or better talent and equal coaching point right back to shitty offensive adjustments and horrible RZ play calling.

Anyone that doesn't see it at this point never will. The evidence supports it and I am 100% certain will continue to do so.

Penalties and miscues all over the place. Ohio State played a much cleaner game. The good news is, most of those can be fixed.

Not happy with RT play at all, but I could be talked down off that ledge.

MY FAVORITE PLAY WAS CJ BAXTER'S BLOCK. That LB was going to kill Arch, and CJ stoned him. That's... that's why I hope Baxter gets more playing time. Wisner's very good, but the LB goes through him.

Oline is elite? Did they ever get to the second level and break a run open? Looked like the exact same Oline we always have. Good pass blocking, average as he'll run blocking.

Game plan looks pretty good if Arch connects on the easy stuff. We couldn't even run bubble screens (we tried a few) because he couldn't connect on those either. What do you expect Sark to call? Usually it is easy crossers, screens, and some stop routes. Arch missed badly on all those. The only game plan that would have helped Arch is abandoning throwing the ball entirely and just going triple option. He was that bad today. I doubt Sark or Arch expected that.

I concur. Yes, we all get overzealous and hyperbolic in here, but if we can just get literally average QB play, we can make a run, for sure.

If Arch played well then dumbness Sark should have started Arch over Ewers, Arch shits the bed and Sark should have called better plays. There was never going to be any in between here. Dipshits all game bitching at Sark for not having those short easy throws he gave Ewers, well we all saw Arch with the short easy throws, he was fucking horrible at it. Maybe Sark knows what Arch can do best. Today it was nothing.

That's because all these guys spent last year clamoring for Arch to start. To be critical of Arch now is to admit they were wrong previously. We were always going to be here.

Just realized how odd it was that we didn't hear much from Collins (except for the penalty), Hill, and Taaffe, yet the defense was awesome.

PK schemed to stop the run, bracket Smith and take him out of the game, and play contain on everyone else. It worked, but our DL didnt get a ton of pressure off the edges. OSU line is decent, nowhere near the "best in school history" their 9.95ers were spouting, but they kept Simmons and the edges off of Sayin mostly. It is also why Day called a super conservative game that just had Sayin making quick short throws and screens all game.

We absolutely abused their running game for 4 quarters. No one is running on us this year.

You don’t get to assume good Quinn with no bad Quinn. I wish him nothing but success in the NFL but I am glad he’s gone.

Very happy with the punter, punt return/FC game is still a struggle.

Biggest non-QB issue today to me for the O was that we underutilized the RB pass game and screen game.

Arch did not win us this game. But Sark fucking lost it for us. You simply cannot come out 0 for 2 in the red zone. Inexcusable. And go look at the play sequences.  It wasn’t execution, it was 100% playcalling.

When your QB can't hit the side of a barn 5 yards away, what do you want him to call?

Face it,  last year, Arch hit the deep ball, but the short to med throws were kinda suspect.. what happens when the deep throws aren't there?

The o line gave him time today.. the WRs didn't get open deep.. but the few times they did get open short or med, he skipped the throws.. I'm not saying it wasn't nerves, but you can't throw it all on the play calling when your Wrs can't get open and the few times they do, your QB can't hit them

It’s hard to get into a flow when the first play of the game has a wr schemed wide open and Arch throws it 5 yards in front of the wr. Arch couldn’t even throw a simple fire screen without it ending up as a 3yrd loss. Sarks shit starts in the redzone and that needs to be fixed asap.

If you're going to bring Ewers into it, how many times does he self sack? Does he get injured? Does the defense bring the house and dare him to throw deep? Just stop trying to think the game would be exactly the same and you can magically turn the outcome of the game by deleting Arch for a few plays and inserting Ewers there.

All of this

The deep ball he underthrew by 10 yards resulting in an INT? The one he threw that landed in Kansas? Arch couldn't execute anything consistently today. It didn't matter what we called because he was going to miss. He did miss. On everything. The only mild strength he showed today was some creative running. That isn't going to be him always. But it was him today.
