Lashlee can have SMU in position to compete each year in the ACC simply because of outside of Miami and possibly Florida State who exactly is making a case for being the third best team in the ACC?

Maybe GTech, but I am not sure if any human can truly play a full season at quarterback in that offense and not end up beat to shit.

Clemson?  Dabo is way too young to be being too stubborn to change like Gundy and Patterson you would think, but maybe he is willing to ride that program into the ground.

VTech? UNC? UVA?

The one thing Arkansas does offer is a place in one of the two big conferences, but is it worth it if they are going to split a big portion of the revenue off to support basketball and baseball compared to the other SEC schools?

Texas, LSU, Florida, aTm, Bama, AU, Vandy, SC, Mizzou, MS st, TN. KY all NIL the shit out of Baseball and Basketball (except maybe Vandy on basketball) Arky can stop making excuses. Pretty sure Walmart has $$$$

Richmond and parts of NC absolutely must be considered part of the Deep South.

I think this is a pretty good map of the historic Deep South:

I thought the same thing. The interim for Ok State fired their DC yesterday also. I just don’t recall seeing that before.

Talk about a sweetheart deal.  Grantham (fired DC) coached 4 games.

Grantham had signed a three-year, $4.2 million contract last December, making him the highest-paid assistant on the staff. OSU will be responsible to honor that contract.

You're a smart guy. Would you consider those sections to be All of Texas? Or even representative of a majority of Texas?

Dallas is full of Sooners, I hope you're not telling me that the minority becomes the identity of the majority.

Bitch, I actually have read the thread. The entire premise put forth by other posters is that because parts of a state are the deep south, therefore the whole state is the deep south? Do you agree with that premise? Yes or no.

Believe me, if I could give away dallas I would.

having just went to dallas i said this multiple times, but the reality is Dallas probably has more than 10x the money of Oklahoma by itself so while im spirit Oklahoma wishes it were Dallas .

on that topic, houston belongs in Louisiana , El Paso and San Antonio are Mexico

and we should probably just put a wall force field around Austin to protect ourselves from whats left of Texas

Wasn't Grantham pretty well known for being a raging asshole throughout his career or am I thinking about someone else? Sign my up for that career arc all day long. Come to the rescue of embattled coaches who are about to be fired. Sign a 3 year deal to go there. Get fired mid season. Rinse repeat.

Houston does not belong in Louisiana, and you got shit backwards, Mexico belongs in Texas. EL Paso and San Antonio are very much and always will be Texas. Get your shit straight.

Tyson himself guaranteed the basketball NIL and salary for Calipari.  The Walton fortune is not that interested in college sports but there are a lot of UA execs that will give when they have a coach who isn’t a buffoon. (One story is that Calipari made introductions to boosters that Pittman somehow never met). There’s a shitton of money in the state that will step up if they believe they will see results.

with the SEC going to 9 games there will be additional slots in the CFP, until the SEC figures a new direction.  It’s a state with one program and no pro teams which is an advantage.  There is money to raise that has not been tapped because the AD and HC were inept and indifferent to NIL.  The athletic dept is successful in every sport but football; their minor sports are dominant crews.  The right guy can do well there but they will likely fuck it up.

Lulz. Arkansas is ranked in the bottom 5 states for median income. Every state has some rich people living in it, but when your state only has 3M people and those people are on average some of the poorest in the country, you are at a disadvantage in the college arms race.

You do realize that if just 1 family decided to turn on a switch and fully invest in Arkansas football they could outspend literally everyone.

Well Walmart has been around as long as I can remember, so when exactly are they planning on doing that? After they get through buying up all the pro sports teams?

All it would take is one walton grandkid to care about football.   The family gives alot to the university, just so far they dont care about football.      However the Kroenke side of the family own the Rams, avalanche and nuggets.   So maybe that side of the family could/would but as stated above they can't NIL and own an NFL team.

Oh and another side owns the broncos, i forgot lol      They rich.

Speaking of all this it's funny that Larry Ellison is doing it for Michigan because of some pussy and not his alma mater(that we know of)

Pro sports family. Probably bc of the money that comes with the stadium/land around them + Super Bowls + Final Fours/CFP games. Much better return on your investment

I remember when one Walton heir bought a basketball arena . . . for Mizzou . . . and named it after their daughter . . . who attended USC . . . and then got caught cheating. Still brings the lulz.

Mississippi has to be in the bottom 5 for median income, and Lane and company have managed to put together an NIL program that creatively allows them to be very good at the portal and a few blue chips every year. It's possible...

As another poster said, it would take one grandkid from one branch of one family. Alice Walton is the richest woman in the world in 2025. She also has 3 brothers who were all Sam Walton's direct offspring. She doesn't have any kids, but her 3 brothers have 8 between them.

Texas is a southern state, a southwestern state, and a plains state.

Right now we are in the southern state version of our conference affiliation. Big 12 was the plains affiliation and we did heavy flirting with the PAC to be a southwestern member.

Northern Mexico/South Texas is its own region. I'm sure if they were connected to a major football conference we wouldve done plenty of flirting with them too.
