I watched some of OU for the first time today and can understand why we are favored.

This is a battle of bad OLs. Texas could completely shut down the OU offense. Illinois State ran a light box vs OU and held up (32 rushes for  103 yards). Kent State DE whipped the OU RT.. Texas will likely go a light box. This is a game Simmons can turn the stat sheet around.

One advantage for Texas is they can throw deep and OU is not explosive on offense. OU has shown vulnerability deep. I would throw some shots at the freshman CB. I would not be shocked if this game is played in the teens (assuming Hawkins is the QB)

Our OL has problem areas.  OUs OL is straight terrible.  The game will likely come down to manufacturing points, turnovers, and special teams because both defenses are much better than both offenses.

Even if their o line is as dog shit as ours. Mayer seems ok with taking off an running. Arch appears willing to wait for the 4 deep post corner routes to finally clear 7 seconds later and not run

saw on the socials tow mater throwing the football so he’s playing. Hes gonna need a helmet to the hand carrying the football to correct that

Should have added the OU has 6 fumbles (3 lost) and 3 ints in 4 games. They have 2 takeaways forced on the season. They sit at 116th in turnover margin (-4)

You can't blame any of this shit on autocorrect.

The only way we winning is if we utilize Mannings legs more. If he runs it 10-15 times, we have a shot

If he doesnt run he is just Uncle Rico at QB. Just put Caldwell in if Manning isnt gonna run for first downs when they are available.

I cant wait for OU to put Mateer out there and get absolutely shitslammed by our defense. Hopefully our offense can score 20.

People still think we have a good defense?

Our OL has problem areas, such as pass blocking, run blocking, holding and pre-snap penalties.

I still think we have a good, not great defense.

Florida is now 92nd in total yards at 354 per. The put up 457 on us. We recorded 0 sacks and maybe a pressure or 2.

I think we're anywhere from average to bottom 1/3rd of P4.

While so many were fixated on Arch's struggles, the defense shitting the bed hit me hardest. 7 wins is no guarantee unless Saturday's defensive effort turns out to be some kind of motivational fluke.

Don't worry we will since with this OL he will be running for his life the entire game.

That was a really bad game plan. They caught the defense running man a bunch (welcome back Akina). You had McDonald have a massive coverage bust (play vs Littleton). Florida OL is MILES better than the OU OL. OU might be jealous of the Texas run game.

Florida has much better athletes than OU does.  OU has struggled to run the ball themselves.

UF has a RB that is much better than anyone on the OU roster. They have 2 o-linemen better than anyone on the OU roster. I would take the freshman UF WR that has only played one game over anyone on the OU roster. Other than that, OU is equal to, or superior to, UF.

Finding 4 more wins is not easy. Arkansas and Kentucky are the two most obvious likely Ws (although Kentucky at night and Petrino offense both scare you to death). Georgia is going to be ugly.  So find 2 wins among OU, @MSU, Vandy, and A&M. Oddly enough I feel OU is the most likely win among those 4 (certainly if Mateer is out).

Imma's right. The majority of posters on this thread have a serious case of bitchass. Texas has played some lousy football so far this year. At times they've also looked pretty good. The reality is that, in almost all facets of life but certainly in football with unpredictable young men, things are never as good nor as bad as they appear.

The OU game is a gift for the Texas football team (and its bitchass fanbase) after the dreadful showing in Florida last weekend. It's an opportunity to get right, to find their mojo on the biggest of stages, and to reset the table for the rest of the season. In an era of a 12-team playoff everything is still there to play for. We waited all offseason for a new football season. Now it's here, and it's the divine hour of our greatest rivalry. If you can't get pumped about that, fuck right off.

wasnt sure whether to laugh or cry at Scip laughing about how similar the OU OL is to Texas, but it should make people feel a little better.

The only time Texas looked “pretty good” was against Sam Houston high school.  The stupid ass retarded everyone’s a bit jass we are gonna mudhole ou posts are stupid as fuck. We have not looked anywhere close to good or even remotely close to a football team at all this season.

I mean despite public opinion and the result of the game, we still looked pretty damn good against OSU. Defense was lights out 95% of the game and we rushed the ball for over 150 yards. I was so optimistic about the O-line after that game, and now we’re here….

Correct. I still hear people talking about it being "elite" even after giving up 500 yards in total offense to a QB who parked in a handicapped spot before the game.

It's not.

WTF do you mean our OL has problems holding? That's absurd, our OL has no problem at all holding, but they have huge problems trying to hide it from the refs.

With Muhammad playing its elite dumbass.

So the secret to our supposedly elite stockpile of EDGEs getting any pressure on the QB is getting a CB back? Is MM our DTs spirit animal, calming their nerves so they get in the way of a ball carrier every once in a while?

The defense was designed to play with a lead and I still think it could be great if we get there. I also think some of the issues in the UF run game were uncharacteristic and correctable. First quarter was the first time we’ve had assignment issues on the edge in a long time.

ou has been the very definition of fools gold this year, while texas' issues (while pretty bad in some areas, particularly OL) are getting massively blown out of proportion.  texas has a lot of strong areas still, and their strengths are pretty well suited to expose ou's weaknesses.  the only reason ou even has a chance in this game is because of the possibility of another complete meltdown by the texas oline.  but as down as ive been on sark, i cant imagine them allowing what happened last week to repeat itself.  i expect a much better gameplan to negate some of those issues.  if the oline is simply mediocre, texas wins this easily.

i predict texas wins by double digits, regardless of mateer playing or not

and people forget florida ran pretty well against texas last year.  they simply have an excellent group of RBs and OL.  ou doesnt have either of those things.
