Dude, did you watch Swoopes lead Texas coached by Charlie Strong against ND.

Notre Dame, a real football team.

That is the level of our current offensive production, against Kentucky, a really terrible team.

Offense accounts for 40% of the team with D at 40% and ST at 20%.

Speaking of ST, Niblett as a punt returner set up 10 of our 16 points. 3 of the other 6 came in OT when thr offense lost yards. Lost yards.

So, ST was directly responsible for 13 of 16 points.

And for emphasis, because it matters, that was against Kentucky who hasn't beaten a SEC team in 9 tries.

Speaking of 16 points scored, did you know Toledo scored the same amount against Kentucky and Eastern Michigan scored 23? This year!

But wait there's more.

Toledo got 329 yards on offense vs Texas 179 against Kentucky.

Toledo.

When you account for the opponent, it's our worst offensive performance since the 59 yards against Arkansas.

Wait, were those two games back to back, separated by an offseason? Holy shit, Shawn Watson ladies and gentlemen.

I think some of you are confused. I'm still mad as fuck about plenty. I also think pretending the team didn't win is complete horseshit nonsense.

Well everything you have said recently is so measured and concise, it's hard to believe anyone could be confused.

If we can go the rest of the season without a turnover like we have the last 2 weeks and Niblett continues to get huge punt returns then we might keep winning. I’m not optimistic.

This is a good point. 16 offensive points in our last two games (some gifted from defense and special teams, one game including an overtime period, etc) and ZERO turnovers. That's really amazing.

This season had championship expectations.

I think those were very wrongheaded, Arch alone. never mind the other losses.

It makes me wonder if, had preseason expectations been more grounded, there would be less angst here.

No not really. You are expected to build off your past success. Same shit would happen whether we were ranked 1 or 5. Ohio state lost just as much as we did off our team last year but they’re better each week of the season.

Arch looks defeated because he is finding out that everything he has been told about himself his whole life is BS. Name one other QB in history that played this bad and there were still people saying he was going to be great, where every single great pass he makes it's "See! there it is, wait until he figures it out!" This has never happened before as far as I know. The dude is just not that good. Wrap your heads around it. If this were literally any other QB there would not even be a discussion, we would be talking about who else we have or can bring in next year.

Arch, Quinn, who else? At what point do people realize it's sark and his oppressive nature.

There have to be other precedents out there.  Jackson Arnold comes to mind recently, without quite the national hype.

But yeah, this has to be really hard on him.  He knows he's not getting it done, hype or not.

It’s especially apparent when you look at the other side of the ball that Sark doesn’t really dabble in and they’re so different mentally

Any insight on what sark thought of card and Casey?

PK is pretty buttoned up.  Sark has been pretty sloppy with a lot of aspects of his life

No one is pretending the team didn't win. Like you, people are mad as fuck about plenty. For some reason, other people being mad as fuck about plenty offends you and is causing you do be very upset about something that is absolutely not happening.

What? This thread is about a player saying something real and emotional and raw and a bunch of responses writing off the team for dead and this guy as an idiot for believing in himself and his team.

You bunch of fucking idiots….he wasn’t “bitching about fans” he was responding to what he perceived as negative questions at the post game press conference. Players play the game to win. Which they did. And he acknowledged “things to work on”. Some of you miserable fucks need to find a hobby or something before you die alone because nobody can stand being around you

I’m glad they’re getting the message that fans and media are pissed because I’m sure Sark and company are blowing sunshine up their ass all week telling them that was a good win. Arch sucked. He needs to own it, apologize to the fan base and do better. He doesn’t need his mom next to him telling everyone how mean they’re being to their precious baby. This is Texas football, everyone’s getting paid a shit ton of money. The product should be better than squeaking by one of the worst teams in the country. If you come out and beat the shit out of Vandy or Georgia than feel free to talk all the shit you want to us and tell us we’re wrong.

Have you watched them play offense?

There’s no pulse. No juice. No player on offense besides Wisner against blowU and Livingstone has looked promising this season.

I’m hanging up my fucks to give this year hope they figure it out but keeping Arch in combined with the lack of OL and run game makes it impossible to be invested. The more I care the more disappointed i am every single time this offense gets the ball.

It’s on to next season, praying CDC can force sark to hire an OC and we find a starting QB. This shit this year is an embarrassing failure and fucking aggy of all turds is going to come to Austin and fuck us up. It’s fucked.

Texas has made Michael Taffe a millionaire. Maybe he should whine less about its fans being ungrateful 20 minutes after a disappointing performance, before he’s even had a chance to hear or read any real criticism.

And that much of that criticism is directed at the coaching staff based on data, historical and this year not solely pure emotion.

Further, that many of those same critics are defending the defense and individual players on the offense consistently.

That the concerns stem from ongoing issues from data points with said coaching staff, not just from this year.

It's fine to chastise emotional response, but not data and facts. That logical fallacy at it's worst particularly when the chastising behavior comes not from reflection of said critical observations of fact and data.

I’m curious to know if there are some more serious issues going on in the background with coaches, between coaches, with some key players, with the Manning camp, etc. Every once in awhile some concerning rumors pop up.

I was about to say the same thing, Taaffe was lighting up reporters and 9.95ers - and we are calling him some sark errand boy? fuck the press and the 9.95ers. good on him, I think sports reporters are the dumbest mother fuckers on the planet so lay it on them Taaffe. as for Arch, jesus guys, you can't tell jack shit from the look on his face, he ALSO just got done playing a VERY physical game where he was hit hard all over. It's possible he's exhausted and the question wasn't for him so he let Taaffe take it and he shrunk down a bit. ok so he needs better press handling skills. wtf does that have to do with anything? jesus some fucking phd psychologists up in this bitch.

that said, D played lights out, stoops bros are dumber than the sports reporters and 9.95ers, thank you very much. and some good things in special teams. yeah, sark is sark, well, last year we had some WTF games on the way to a championship run. not saying we are going on a similar run but just because we won 23-6 last week doesn't mean yesterday will be a 3 score win and just because yesterday was an abomination doesn't mean next week won't be better. who knows what happens but this team as-is can go 9-3 this season and that puts them in the hunt for the post season. so yeah, fuck the press nitwits.

I will sunshine pump one thing. I’ve been begging Texas to run a quick hitter route like a slant, and not a fucking bubble screen, all year long. When shit got tight in the 4th quarter last night Sark called 2!!!!  Progress.

taaffe is a fired up mother fucker. arch just looks like he got jack hammered in the game which is true. there is nothing negative in that presser from those two guys. the same fuckstains that proclaimed Arch the guy who should have over taken Quinn last year are the ones reading into all his body language calling him a quitter and telling him to transfer.

it's fucking gross.

they don't know shit about people.

NONE of that means I think Texas is beating Georgia or going on a deep title run this year, but at least I'm not a fucking pussy about it all.

What your asking is for fan expectations to be that Texas can't or won't consistently compete for the CFP and National championships. That it is more grounded. I agree that it is, but it moves Texas from the Blue Blood/top team expectations of Bama, OSU, Oregon, Michigan, OU, Penn State to the next tier down.

SMU, Texas Tech, FSU, Florida, ASU, Clemson, etc.

If you feel Texas football belongs in this rung of expectations, fine, but we'd be the wealthiest, best known brand with the most wins historically by a very large margin.

Kentucky - especially at night in Lexington - is not one of the worst teams in the country. That's an asinine statement. They are #53 in Sagarin and #51 in FPI.
