So other than Texas the SEC went 0-8 in the postseason against the other P4 conferences, is that correct?

Should have developed a running game like Miami.

Does Sark let a freshman like Toney go off like that? Miami wouldn't be where they are without him.

I remember when he refused to play Worthy as a true freshman. Made him sit on the bench the whole year until he had bled for the program enough.

What could those losers possibly shit talk to you about?

They’re total cunts. They never shut up.

Doesn’t matter who is playing or who is not playing. Doesn’t matter if they’re 0-10 or 10-0. They never shut up. They’re classless assholes.

They never shut up.

Fair question: do people honestly believe we would have made it to the MNC this year had we been in the playoffs? I don’t even know if we make the semi-finals but I’d like to believe we would have had at least one win.

Bama beat OU but I think he meant SEC vs non-SEC schools,

depends upon many factors but one I always think about when watching big games of other teams: At one point in the 3rd quarter Miami had something like 50 yards of penalties and OM had 2 penalties for four yards. Also, I don't think anybody was called for holding all game long.

Saban pointed out at half that the only things stopping Miami were the refs and Miami. I agree we win one and if the ref situation were to play out for us like it did for OM, that's most likely two wins.

For now. How long will the secsecsec keep getting the benefit of the doubt? Oklahoma and Alabama had no business in the field this year.

Until ESPN goes out of business.

Does anyone have the reason why Cristobal got all mad during the interview with SVP?

Cristobal is superstitious about talking about winning in the future and SVP started down that road.

There will still be 10 sec teams in the preseason rankings, half in the top 10.

If they were really classless assholes, the visitor section at Kyle would always be empty. Miami fans would still be wandering aimlessly, hopelessly lost in the labyrinth that is College Station.

Miami wouldn't have made the playoffs without ND on their schedule this year but sure.

Yes but we don't need OOC boost

I enjoy good games. That worth anything?

Florida was a shit team that caught us at the end of our shit period.

Also, the argument that the SEC is something special has been pretty much blown up this season. They lost all their post season games against other conferences ('cept'n us) and the Aggies lost only a single conference game.

Lastly, it's a twelve (okay, ten) team playoff. If you're on the cusp of that, you're not that big of a deal.

tbd. If we lose to Florida, barely escape Kentucky and MSU, and get blown out by Georgia we might.

The auto bids should also go away. Best 12 (or whatever it ends up being) teams no matter what.

Don’t you mean best 24? Because that’s coming.

Miami was on the cusp of that. I don't know how to put this, but they're kind of a big deal right now. People know them, they're very important.

Meh. Gone are the days of the bowl games telling us who the best conference is due to the portal, NFL opt outs, and conferences trying to get all their teams in bowls. The other day I watched 8-4 Wake Forest playing 5-7 Miss State without their starting QB who was out injured. They had zero chance of winning that game, and why they hell is a 5'7 team in a bowl game and playing an 8-4 team at that? Last year Cam Ward decided to quit at halftime vs Iowa State when they were up and ISU came back and won the game. It's all a shit show.

Fair, but it's sort of an anomaly isn't it? Further, how good are they actually? It's been the kind of year where it's hard to tell. Beating A&M 10-3 and a Kiffinless Ole Miss may just mean they caught the easier bracket. I'm not saying A&M and Ole Miss were bad, but, like I said, it's kind of a hard year to tell.

A&M, OSU, and Ole Miss. Year 2 of expanded playoffs and it's already produced an anomaly. There aren't any true juggernauts right now. Maybe that's Indiana, but otherwise 2-12 were all teams with warts.

Indiana isn't even that great. They tried real hard to lose to Penn St.

It looked like his toe hit first; however, I had two drinks more at halftime than the officials.

if the toe hits and the heel immediately comes down OOB, you are OOB.

Yes. I think a result of so-called NIL that nobody foresaw was teams like Texas Tech buying their way into the game. Some non-juggernaut schools can scrape together money for a few players that never would have been interested at all. Maybe we're on the cusp of weird sort of parity. As @closetojumping noted, stability in the game is gone. We're not at an end point.

I said a low seed making it so far is an anomaly, but we can only judge by the past. The future may indeed show that it's anybody's game.

I like the idea of that kind of uncertainty. I hate the idea that players being attached their schools will go away. One of the things I liked about the college game was that I was pulling for guys who made a similar choice to my own: they wanted to go to Texas. If that evaporates completely so will my interest in the college game. I don't care about the NFL which is impossible for an NFL fan to comprehend. I think they want everything to be the NFL. Fuck that.

SEC Football...because it doesn't matter

Texas, Ohio State, et al bought their way into the game.

I want the next 5 champions after Indiana to be Tech, Wake Forest, BYU, San Diego State and Georgia Tech. The blue blood teams would give us whatever we want to return to the good ole days. 8, 10, 12 team conferences? Just tell us what you want!

The game of college football elites.

Tech bought its way in. So did fucking everyone.

Ring a bell? and i don't think you were taking a shot, it's just something a lot of folks are saying. Nobody got there without gobs of cash. Nobody.

Dunno where else to post this, but this outcome isn't crazy at all. The bowls had the #6-11 SEC teams, and they are already set up so that the SEC generally plays up vs other conferences.

My model only has 3 of these games as upsets:

  • Mizzou-Virginia: favored by 2, but 5 starters out, including QB.

  • LSU-Houston: favored by 5, no coach, 9 starters out, including QB.

  • MSST-Wake: favored by 2, 11 starters out, 3rd string QB when the backup was injured.

  • None of the playoff teams were favored in my model. Texas was favored and won.

  • And yes, the SEC is the best conference in my model, but most of the delta with the B1G is in the bottom half of the conference.

We didn’t really. We aren’t a blue blood because we’ve been buying players since the 1800s, whatever you may think.

If that were the case, Texas A&M would be elite instead of the D-1 version of the special Olympics that they are.

We are THE University of Texas. We’re in a desirable location. We’ve always had the resources and wherewithal (except within the last 15 years) to hire decent coaches and put together a competent program.

Wipe your chin for crisakes.
