  1. Past hour
  2. They can focus on policy on the back end, but in order to get in control (legally), they have to play the game as it exists now. And that is NOT talking about policy. That is dumbing it down to appeal to the most basic dumbass voter.
  3. I saw another recent video describing how Russia is getting a large amount of their artillery shells from North Korea due to Russian inability to manufacture enough on their own, and this is before the destruction of the ammonia facility. Just like NATO providing older kit to Ukraine, it turns out that North Korea is not willing to give Putin their good stuff, but are instead giving them their older artillery shells. Apparently 50% of fired Nork shells are duds, rather significantly impacting the effectiveness of Russian artillery.
  4. Nope, not us. We've played Lodge 88 before, been a long time, they like to get the "big names" (yes, there actually are some), the whole thing is who knows who, and over there is favoritism... Tough to squeeze into these handshake deals. Have fun if you go.
  5. Agreed. This reminds me of my sophomore year (early 1990s) when the Southwest Conference started penalizing tortillas on the field- I think it started after the 1993 A&M game when the bands got into a fight while passing each other on the field for halftime. Once the threat of penalties was in place, the student government folks arranged to have bins in the stadium and asked that students put their tortillas in the bins and that they'd be donated to local food banks instead of causing penalties during the game. I don't recall if refs enforced the penalties back then (I'm assuming they did) but the main result I recall was that the student government association stationed people along the field to pick up any stray tortillas that landed.
  6. Dude should be the new Bo Davis of motivational speeches.
  7. What would be the penalty of waiving Mixon, looks more and more he's missing the entire season? Marks will be the full time starter by the end of the season.
  8. It was telling that Seth Rogan didn’t hang around for Aziz’s interview even though they were both there to promote the same movie.
  9. Those guys that show up to an elderly or poor person’s house and mow and edge and weed-eat and shovel scrape. They do great stuff. it almost inspires me to go out and do yard work. Almost.
  10. Here we go again. Dems are problematic becasue they focus on policy. You know, the things lawmakers are supposed to be focused on developing and implementing. I get the point, its just fucking depressing that our country is so full of stupid people that government policy is less important than soundbites and vilification of others. BTW, the dems are focused largely from what I can tell on pointing out that R's are in charge and this is their fault. Sometimes it gets followed up with the detail to combat the bullshit "they want healthcare for illegals." That latter soundbite works, because our country is fucking pathetic. Since republicans are going to dominate going forward I'm all for just dismantling the whole fucking thing. Let the states take back full control so the south can be it's pathetic self with it's marginal economies and let the west coast and northeast corridors dominate and keep their own tax money. And yes I also know that's not how it would work,
  11. Well good for them. I am glad they are doing so well. Everything is working out for everybody.
  12. They don't use the same actors, but they are very close in appearance and portrayal. I don't know why aficionados would be irked. Delighted to hear we may get another season of Mind Hunters.
  13. Houston weather, October 2024: 26th ended up being the last day of the year where we hit 90. 27th (88) was the last day above 85.
  14. Going to need a LOT more dudes like this who are willing to get fired to slow this shit down.
  15. We started Wayward last night. After two episodes, it's pretty good. There's some mundane character development in the first episode. Speaking of mundane, we've watched a few episodes of Manifest which I started based on critical acclaim. It's very much like a soap opera with character portrayals. I'm hoping they develop something interesting about what happened with the flight soon or they'll lose me. It's all stock characters, predictable relationships, and the mundane ominousness of the NSA. The flight survivors need some spice and maybe even a villain. I don't know how good the cast is. They're trapped in two dimensions. I'll reveal more as we get deeper in.
  16. Cross posting from the uniform thread: this is an excellent decision by Tech. Logos, font, all of it is exactly what it should be.
  17. In spite of all signs pointing to a 5/7-7/5 type finish, I will remain irrationally optimistic up until the moment Oklahoma rapes, murders and dumps our lifeless corpse in a back alley dumpster off of Harry Hines. Until then? Show me a loss.
  18. Stop it.

  20. Nobody said "they" were actually going to do it... but if you think none of "them" are talking about it, you're stupider than you usually seem. You want some fries with that?
  21. Sounds like they are as ready as the ones that are currently playing.
