  3. Couple things: Nahlin is suggesting that Mukuba is not currently a take for Clemson and the pendulum may be swinging back to Texas. Abridged, but: "If he had to choose today, Clemson wouldn't be an option" Our very own @Fud has his ear to the streets and the LSU boards are not lighting up like they expect Cooks to commit or is currently a silent. He's said this before but they have decent insiders at TigerDroppings Communication between Texas and Jaylon Williams has dropped off this past week and he's hearing from LSU and Georgia regularly. Eric posits that the LSU communication is good for Texas and Cooks Also, incoming butthurtedness from 9.95ers with the Cooks/LSU flirtation. Absolutely none of them read the the leaves correctly because they thought this one was over months ago. Joe Cook is over there defending IT, "sounds like recruiting to me". Fuck off, Joe. If you had an inkling of an idea that he was open to other schools, you would have said something about it instead of TERRENCE COOKS IS THE MOST LIKELY NEXT COMMIT over and over and over and over and over again since December.

  6. Dan Woken is a fucking shithead, period. He wants everyone to shed a tear for the BIG and PAC, and point out how responsible and "following the science" they are, while ignoring that the main reason they canceled when they did was due to a debunked myocarditis report. He leaves out the fact that the Big 12 was widely criticized, by him as well, for using a "twitter doctor's" advice (a world renowned expert from the Mayo clinic). He cites the 75 positive cases at Texas Tech, while failing to point out the zero hospitalizations. He wants so badly for something really bad to happen at any of the schools that decided to push forward and play. No doubt he already has his "told you so" article written and ready to go. It's all political for him, and he sucks.

  7. And what kind of comeuppance are you looking for her? Perhaps a scarlet T sewn into their clothes? Prison time? maybe up their taxes? Let me offer you a different way to look at it: Losing the election handily and having to suffer that humiliation, then wrestle with the reality that it was or wasn't rigged, is about the only comeuppance that they can and should receive. And before you say anything let me tell you why: Because the rest of America, fuck America as a whole, literally cannot afford any more. Because the next step in the path you're walking down is civil unrest, or war. Which means economic dolldrums. Worldwide consequences. The better, the BEST, the ONLY option is to move on and slowly try to re-tether people to reality, to show that you're not actually an intellectual boogie man, and you start fixing problems. You start making life better. You fix the guardrails that are perilously loose or untethered in our democracy. You educate. You stop pushing for reasons for partisanship or divide. Because if you don't, all you're doing is just ensuring that Trump's damage continues to fester and rot this country.

  8. Trump didn't talk to any of the presidents/chancellors. He talked to the commissioner who was never in charge of making the decision to play football. Of course Trump is going to take credit for it. That's what he does, he takes credit for things he had nothing to do with and blames others for his own failures.

  9. Whoosh, you really missed the point. It makes me laugh when progressives try to excuse broad spectrum failure (marketing, policy, compassion, imagination) with a policy debate, like it's the customer's fault for not buying. Trump speaks to their pain and their humiliation effectively. Democrats don't. Let me give you an example I used to do a lot of work with community financial institutions all across the country, which took me to a lot of second and third tier places. In about 2012 I went to a credit union in Pennsylvania, literally next door to a slag heap that had been there for years. It was the employee credit union of a company that had been the biggest employer in town until they shut down and moved away, and laid off almost everybody. The main strategic challenges facing the credit union were raising deposits to lend out, and members dying off. Now this is a union town that ALWAYS voted D. So imagine you live in that town, and you are watching your community die, while the people who you voted for either didn't help or actively ignored your concerns and seem to even enable the problem. And they seem to increasingly associate themselves and raise a lot of money from the people living that good life on TV that you seem to slip further away from every day. And here comes Trump, and he says "The system is rigged. You got fucked over. And I'm going to humiliate and hurt the bastards who did this to you." You know what? He's not wrong. The game was rigged. They did get fucked over. And for all of his lies and bullshit and incompetence, the core of truth with Donald Trump is a promise kept: he makes the winners of the new economy feel bad. And that's why you would vote for him even today, because this town flipped. So you're asking me who makes things better? You're basically saying that the people who vote for Trump voted against you because they are stupid and racist. And they hear you. They know who he is and that he won't make their lives better. But they don't think you will either, and they are sending Trump to fuck you up.

  10. Yep, heading over in a little over 12 hours. Lived there before (and in Scotland) from ‘05 to ‘11 so am a naturalized citizen with dual passports. It’s been a goal to get back for many years and that’s where the business opportunities are for me now. Am I excited? I guess I have mixed feelings right now. London is a city I love and a place that is familiar to me and where I still have several friends. I always feel at home there and am happy the minute I get off the plane at LHR. That being said, this has been a grueling process that has taken about a year to get done. And my wife and I are doing it all on our own without a company paying for the move and handling all the details. House was all but sold in March and I was ecstatic for the move. But the buyer cancelled during the option period due to Covid and everything was put on hold for months. Ended up getting back with the buyer and closing the deal in late August and not losing much on the original deal. But since then, we had to put our English Bulldog down and my father has gone downhill with some health issues. On top of that, I don’t know what London will look like in a Covid environment for the next 12 to 18 months. It’s made me question over the last month if this is the right move at age 46 - leaving behind family, friends, familiarity and most of my professional network. It’s emotionally exhausting but my wife and I keep putting one foot ahead of the next every day to get it done. As she says, we are limping across the finish line, beaten and battered. But, we have a great flat in Marylebone (Central London), I can walk to the office so no commuting via the Tube and life will push on. I have to remind myself though that it’s important to always chase your dreams. And if it doesn’t work out in a few years, fuck it. We will just do something else.

  12. I think everyone has seen enough videos that are legitimate showing cops profiling black kids, and black adults. The issue is real, and embarrassing, and it pisses me off, and it's never even happened to me (and not likely to white, and over 50). When you read, and hear about black parents having to tell their kids to not get shot, or how they need to act when a cop pulls them over or asks them a question, it's a horrible thing to hear. We only had to worry about the son not getting some chick pregnant. We never really had to worry about him having a life or death issue with a cop. It's something that's way past time being addressed. There's a way to move forward, and part of it is re allocating funds to other services or to better training (definitely better training for cops), mandatory body cam usage (immediate suspension if it "fails"), dealing with unions who protect cops regardless of the circumstances. There are certainly other things that need to be done, but those are a minimum list of issues that need to be implemented.

  14. That's because Bloomberg is detestable and has an off-putting personality. He has no charm or interest so exposing him was actually worse for him. Joe has personality and it's easy to like the right version of Joe. A full-on "Uncle Joe!" campaign of him being cool and relatable and saying "c'mon man!" again and again with his signature smile, driving Corvettes and running up and down stairs would be good. Hug some Mexican kids. Shoot baskets with some black kids. Eat big ice cream cones with an Asian toddler. The black kid on the basketball court steals Joe's ball, Joe looks at the camera, "C'mon man!" Asian toddler grabs his ice cream with her hand, Joe looks at the camera, "C'mon man!" SAY THE LINE, JOE!

  18. Short version: a huge chunk of Americans (I say 40%+) has completely given up on their lives getting better. The only thing that they hope for is that the people who have done better than they have are made to suffer. And that’s Trump’s entire brand - “I’ll hurt the other guy...FOR YOU.”

  24. Last night was one of the better nights of NBA basketball I can recall. Love the Heat. Those guys play their ass off and play with such heart. I've never cared much for that franchise, but I really, really like the team they have assembled. Spoelstra has never received much credit, but he's one of the better coaches in the league. That block, just wow. And the Nuggets... man they are fun to watch. Jokic is so unique. The dimes he was making last night on cutters out of the high post. And then playing out of the low post as well. Leading the break. Hitting threes. The guy is ridiculous and so much fun to watch. I'm sure the league is cringing at the thought of a Heat/Nuggets final, but I personally would love it. With regard to Kawhi, I hope this changes the narrative around him a little. Don't get me wrong, he's still one of the top 5 players in the league but his reputation has been built on those two finals MVPs. The first one with the Spurs, he really kind of won by default. It's not like he was the sole dominant force in that series, but they had to give it to somebody. If there was ever a team win, that championship was it. And you can't tell me there is any way in hell the Raptors beat the Warriors last year with a healthy Durant and Klay. After he hit that shot vs. Philly, Toronto won the chip and he entered his free agency courtship, everybody ignored what a gigantic steaming cunt he acted like in San Antoino. So, fuck him. He's a great player. I don't think he's much of a leader and I hope he spends the rest of his career living up to the Clipper legacy.

  26. Why on Earth would they make the decision-- NOW-- that there will be no fans? By the time they start, they'll have 5-6 weeks of data to evaluate, from schools that DID have fans at their games. They're making the exact same mistake they did previously. There's simply no reason, at all, to make this determination now. Go ahead and plan on having fans at whatever % occupancy your local/regional authorities will allow, and then if it looks like it's not working out elsewhere around the country, pull the plug at the last second. It's just stupid to make a decision like this now, when there's absolutely no need to do so. Just like it was stupid to announce no fall football at all, on August 13th,

  29. Bill Barr got his law degree taking evening classes while working as an intelligence analyst for the CIA and graduated with the highest honors the school can give. He has then climbed up the ladder in the DoJ to become the AG in 1991. He then goes on to have a fantastic legal career in private life that ends with him on the board of directors for Time Warner. In 2019, he finds himself back in the AG chair. As far as legal resumes go, he is in the top 1% of 1%. That should tell you that when someone with that kind of resume says something that blatantly runs against Constitutional law or the democratic processes on which this country functions, they aren't misquoting or misunderstanding a Constitutional concept. They're telling you how THEY think it should be. Cruz, for example, graduated from Harvard Law magna cum laude, was the editor of their Law Review, and was regarded as a brilliant student. He then went on to be the first Hispanic to ever clerk for the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. He was part of the Bush legal team in Bush v. Gore and was Texas Solicitor General at the age of 33. An off the charts legal resume. Top 1% of 1%. I'm certain that if he were to sit down with 99% of the attorneys in the nation to talk Constitutional law and the cases surrounding it, he would embarrass them all outside of people who are Constitutional scholars for a living. Yet, we see him get pantsed on a regular basis when he's holding his ground on his own positions. That's not because he's stupid, in a legal sense. He just doesn't believe that a lot of the law that stands today should be the law and wishes to replace it with his own vision. People like Barr and Cruz in the government aren't misspeaking when it comes to the law. They're telling you how they think it should be and are actively working to change it. For someone like Cruz, that's part of his job as an elected official. But when it comes to someone like Bill Barr, it is insanely problematic. His job is to enforce the law, as it is today, and advise the executive branch of the law when necessary. The way mail-in voting currently works is the law of the land. He knows it is. But here he is waxing poetic about the loss of the secret vote, conjuring up hypothetical fraud, and then projecting that fraud onto those who he sees as political opponents. Sure, he is entitled to have an opinion, but if Eric Holder went into an interview and questioned the validity of the 2012 election 2 months before election day, it would be an absolute political firestorm and rightfully so. Barr says something like this, Trump latches onto it, and it feeds an already dangerous, out of control rhetoric regarding the 2020 election.

Fuck knowing how to eat a god damned steak. Fuck knowing how to walk down a ramp. Fuck exercise. Fuck being smart. You can go on and on...these are complete morons who finally get to rise up against all that is right. They don't give a flying fuck how stupid he is...because he is them. Then you have the 1% of evil bastards that knows all this but has to pander to who dipshit brought under their tent. They hold their nose and roll with the punches...knowing their day is coming soon. And they're so fucking scared of that day, they're willing to commit any crime to keep their dipshit in charge. Don't be fooled - that set of people. knows exactly how dumb this MF is. There should be dozens of people hung for treason when all this BS ends. Not saying there will be, but there sure as fuck should be.

  33. Don’t do it? Jk. You’re staff is the most important thing. They will make or break you. Finding good people is incredibly hard. But you’re in Houston and have a bigger pool to pull from than I do. 1. Be there physically. You’re presence is important. To keep employees honest and customers really like interacting with the owner. 2. Watch you cameras. Religiously! 3. Track your inventory. Get the bar app or something similar to track your booze. I weigh my bottles every morning. I make my bartenders do a bottled beer count at the beginning of every shift. You need a good bar manager. I went thru 5 managers in 2 Years before I just gave up and did it myself. 4. My biggest problem has been kitchen loss. You need a good kitchen manager to take care of ordering/inventory/staffing. I’ve gone thru 8 cooks in 2-1/2 years. Most cooks/chefs are alcoholics with drug problems. That doesn’t necessarily mean they can’t do the job well. Just something to be aware of. 5. I would recommend getting a general manager that can oversee the foh, boh, and your golfing stuff. 6. Absolutely be aware of TABC at all times. They will be in several times in the first 6 months. They will also do stings. They are horrible. Make sure your bartenders and servers are not over serving. That’s where they like to get you 7. Have a standard set of policies and procedures for employees. They need to read and sign. That will help protect you when they fuck up. Which Point of Sale system are you using? I’m fairly proficient in all of them. I run Toast at my bar. I’ve reprogrammed it 7 times, so I’m almost an expert now If you have any questions, need any advice, or just need to vent, I’ll help as much as I can. One thing that has helped keep me “sane” is talking/bitching with other bar/restaurant owners Good luck! I wish you the best!

  34. I don't get all the Kawhi hate at this point tbh. Like it or not, we got like six or seven good years out of Kawhi, a defensive player of the year award, an NBA championship and another Finals appearance. He's a lifelong Spur in my book and I see no reason to still be bitter or laugh at his misfortu Just kidding--can you imagine? Seriously, fuck Kawhi, fuck his uncle, fuck the city of Los Angeles and fuck the Clippers individually and as an organization.
