  1. Ed Orgeron is an outstanding representative of LSU. LSU is an outstanding representative for the state of Louisiana. That place is a 3rd world country where corruption is lionized and having an IQ above 80 makes you a difference maker in society. So of course they'd stonewall something that actually serves to advantage the state on the whole.

  5. Ive seen many of our younger posters say things about LJH and his physicality/dominance/greatness at Texas that let's me know that they were unfortunately not born early enough see The Legend during his time at Texas. A lot of people rank Shipley as the greatest/best WR at Texas, and that's fine- but we've never had another Roy Williams, and I doubt we ever will. He was so physically dominant in college I thought he was going to be like an Anquan Bolden with open field moves in the NFL. While it never did materialize for him at that level, man- he was something special in college. some more, including him dragging the entire Okie State defense halfway down the field with him:

Durant’s donation is the largest outright gift by a former Texas Basketball student-athlete in school history and among the largest gifts ever by any professional athlete to his alma mater.

  9. Mrs Landomatic and I were looking at possibly building a house outside Houston in a (man made) lake community. Part of the tour included a boat ride around the lake to get a feel for the community. Our aggy boat guide explained to us on the tour that the developer built part of the lake in the shape of a cross as he was a Christian man...as we're riding in the boat through this giant cross shaped part of the lake. It was then excitedly explained to us that the giant cross shaped body of water was meticulously engineered to point directly at the precise longitude and latitude of the center of kyle field in college station some hour plus NW of us as the developer was also a huge aggy. Now, I don't really have a problem with the cross thing. To each his own on that. And I don't really have that much of a problem with building in some kind of hidden easter egg on a project as sort of an inside thing for you and your buddies. But, leave it to an aggy to not only intertwine football and religion with such a high level of retardation, but to add it as part of the tour as some kind of selling point because you have such a lack of self-awareness that you can't comprehend that something like that is only a positive to a select few within your target market. I'm sure the "are you fucking kidding me" looks on the faces of my Jewish wife and me were completely lost on this stupid gomer.

  12. I was hit by a 12lb shot in 9th grade. Stupid coach had told us to go mark our throws so we could measure later as he took the tape measure to the discus field. I threw, walked out to mark my throw, but kept an eye on the guys horsing around behind the circle. I faced the circle - nobody was in it. I bent down quickly to grab a stick to jab in the ground and I hear, "heads up!" The shot missed my head, thank God. Could've killed me. It hit me in the back. I was in a bit of shock. I slowly stood up and saw all the guys running toward me. They were all yelling and asking if I was ok. I didn't say a thing. I just turned and started walking the couple hundred yards to the trainer's room. That guy told me it was probably a deep bruise. Ha. I went home and ended up coming back to school that night to show my science fair project (3rd place, holla). Went to the doctor the next day. The lower, narrow end of my left shoulder blade was broken clean off. Luckily, it's between 2 muscles and didn't move. It healed on its own. Sleeping, moving, breathing, coughing, laughing all sucked. Similar to broken ribs. The school called my dad asking why I wasn't at school and then threatened something about holding the absence against me. My dad explained in a calm manner (not so much) that their incompetence had led to my injury, and they're lucky I wasn't dead or brain damaged.

  13. she's from chicago and a lifelong cubs fan. she literally had to wait 100 years to see them win a world series. she threw out the first pitch of a preseason game in mesa that year, and i had a strange feeling it would happen. the whole family was secretly thinking "ok, she can die in peace now" but she's still hanging on and kicking ass.

  15. what histrionics are you seeing on this thread? people are asking for solutions. your input was "ban schools." a point was raised earlier in the thread, and apologies for forgetting who made it, but it is this: be a part of the solution or be left out of the discussion. that means gun owners. i own two guns. i'm not a hunter or a hobbyist, but i believe in gun ownership. i've defended this to UK colleagues who think it is insane that i have a handgun (in a safe) in my home. we are a rebel nation, and our values on gun ownership reflect that, given our 2nd amendment. however, we have a major problem. is my owning a handgun the answer to that problem? no. do i still want that handgun just in case? yeah. but if i want to do that, then i need to be a part of the solution. and that solution is going to be some kind of gun control/restrictions. either come to an agreement with those who have been victimized, or lose the argument altogether. your post indicates that you don't want to be part of the discussion. it's the parallel to those posters who say "religion of peace" whenever a radical muslim does something terrible. it's indicating total disinterest in actual discussion. and the kids today, when they grow up, will write you the fuck off, as they should.

  18. I didn’t know your friend runs that. That’s cool. On my recent trip to Zion/Capitol Reef, SWA didn’t get one of my bags on the plane. They told me to buy new stuff and they’d reimburse me. So I went to the Vegas REI and had somewhat of a shopping spree. Embarrassingly for me, after I had setup the new tent, I found my tent in my *other* bag. Whoops. I returned the purchased one to REI but got reimbursed for everything else, so it was a productive trip with a new sleeping bag (Nemo Disco 15), sleeping mat (Exped Megamat Lite), pillow, duffel bag, and $450 voucher. The tent I had was a Nemo Dagger 2P, and it was great (and I actually considered keeping it, but it was too similar to my MSR Hubba Hubba). I still have my Tarptent Double Rainbow for backpacking. Here’s a few photos from the trip (I didn’t take many):

  24. Boomers especially can fuck all the way off. The point of respecting elders is that they’re supposed to have developed wisdom through their experiences. Actual wisdom should absolutely be respected and we should all hope to learn from wise people. But, despite their age, most boomers aren’t wise. If anything, most boomers get dumber and more selfish and childish every year they age.

Let me help you out, penis whisperer, you can't get away with calling someone a faget on a message board, when you admitted to all those dudes you played a man's trombone for meth. By the way, I had no idea you had so many feelings for your boyfriend...it's obvious you took that very hard, sorry bro. Again, I respect you, him, and your relationship. You can blow all the cock you want...TNWWT. But to do it for drugs then pretend like you hold the upper hand on any discussion, ever? Also, yes Chicago deep dish pizza is terrible. Look, even a broken dicksucking clock is right twice a day. But what type of man defends himself by throwing a deepdish pizza at someone? Then you brag about being a pizza aficionado? Not just any pizza aficionado, but a real one. Well fuck, just how am I supposed to match wits with your badass? lulz Please regale us with more of your posts.

  29. Yeah. I think the thing that is so interesting is how the gnashing of teeth is related to how odious a person this is on the surface. My wife was watching a documentary about JFK last night and they kept talking about how popular and loved, etc. that he was and she kept grousing about what a womanizer he was. Okay, I get it, but he and W and Clinton and Obama -- they weren't in your face assholes. Especially if you have a nice, protected childhood, there is a point in your life where you realize not all people are good, and plenty of adults are assholes. That's shocking, but you get over it, and just realize you have to be vigilant about not trying your future to more assholes than you have to. And you still believe that most people aren't assholes. The thing that triggered me is that a huge percentage of the population support this asshole, or have no problem with tolerating his grossness. I didn't think that my society was capable of supporting a guy like this, no matter what he continues to do. The absence of a cogent political or economic approach makes it even more confusing.

  30. Well, no one got time fo' dat shit (i.e. too deep to tackle with my time right now), but while my first thought would be "nah, you just think that" and I still sorta go with that, there is evidence that "tornado alley" has shifted more towards the SE than say 50 years ago. While the Central Plains (north of Dallas up through BlowU and into Kansas) is still "tornado alley" it's turning out that Arkansas, Missouri, and especially the southern tier of Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia (and southeastern Tennessee) have seen upticks in large, devastating tornadoes in the last 40 years. One possible reason is that evidence exists that our climate zones might have shifted a bit. What that means, maybe, is that storm fronts could possibly be more from the NW than "straight down" but hell if I know, and if there are studies out there, they are buried way too deep in some weathergeek journals than even I regularly check. But there might be... Austin sits in an interesting spot... about 150 miles east of a definite more arid zone and about 100 miles south of a more "continental" zone (about Waco up is actually a slightly different climate). Being on these borders, my impression over 30 years has been that weather in Austin is more likely to come from different directions, as, say, the Northeast U.S. or the Great Lakes area (which sit more in the center of large climate areas). But there is no question that our prevailing summer pattern is SE→NW (with some hotter days SW→NE). Since fronts in the summer months per se don't happen - most of 'em wash out in DFW or just north), we get very little weather from the north, so this is more the cooler months. And it's well-known and established that most of our rain in the summer comes from the Gulf (E→W). Any storms coming from the west simply ride the Dry Line but the hugeass high pressure systems which are normal here late June through early Sept. usually simply block those out - they die maybe as far east as San Angelo (again, a different climate zone). My guess is that prevailing pattern hasn't changed much in 100 years.

  31. The problem there is that RW's speed was next level compared to CJ. Roy Williams is the single greatest WR I've seen at Texas, and that's taking nothing away from any other greats. He was fucking electric and terrified defenses. Saban's LSU beats us in the Cotton Bowl if RW doesn't come totally unhinged in the 2nd half. That's how I remember it, at least.
