  1. Bro it’s too early to be this level of upset. We still have a great shot at losing Collins as well.

  3. Dude’s aunt works inside the AD in a real job. The mom had a fine experience at Texas and is well-received on campus by the AD irrespective of the son being a prospect. If a legacy doesn’t have the last name of Simms, there’s a very, very strong shot that they have been taken care of by the school. That doesn’t mean the mom will force the kid to go to Texas, but it’s not really ever going to hurt us. Most former pros that live in the state also see Texas above the rest as a place to send their kid. Emmitt Smith wanted Texas to recruit his son and we didn’t, largely because we preferred other slot targets. Deion is no fan of UT but will happily send kids here versus many alternatives if it is a choice. I was talking with a guy that went to Rice and played in the pros. His kids are going to be big time prospects if I had to guess. He said the only school he cares about recruiting his kids in the state is Texas. The problems we’re witnessing in recruiting, and I’m not one of the people cutting myself over the mediocre past week, are personnel-related. Texas still has an absolute embarrassment of riches built into the program that almost no one else nationally can top. The guys and girls who have been through it all before and live in the state know it as a matter of fact.

  7. I don’t believe there are any more “begrudging Trump supporters” left. At this point, after all the bullshittery of the last 2 1/2 years, if you still consider giving him your vote, you’re a full fledged supporter. There’s been too much evil done by him and in his name for any thinking person to handwave for any reason. “The economy is good so I’m gonna overlook all the evil” is the statement of a person who is deep down okay with that evil but doesn’t have the balls to admit it to themselves. You can’t shame the shameless.

  10. i imagine a DL of Broughton at DE, Coburn/Ojomo at NT, and Collins at DE, with Ossai at B-backer and think that is the type of Dline that wins National Championships... I know the coaches are countering the 4-3 arguments by pointing to a number of things: 1. Texas and Houston DL production; 2. Alabama and Georgia play similar schemes; 3. Elko learned his scheme under Orlando; 4. Orlando's scheme is at its best, like most D schemes, when the Dline is disruptive and penetrating; and 5. that we play multiple fronts 4 down, 3 down, no down depending on the situation in the same way that most NFL teams do. Most are listening but you can only do so much when the other side is paying. I havent heard about Broughton being Leal'd so I think there is still hope.

  17. It's passed time the commodity subsidization policies be dismantled. As I recall, the sugar industry gets several billion a year in subsidies. Then you have corn, soybeans, wheat and the others which ultimately results in cheaper ingredients for processed foods. Not to mention the wealth transfer to agriculture corporations. The corporations get rich off of the U.S. taxpayers and the people get shittier food and a health crisis.

  19. i've been through way too much in my life to not appreciate every single day. every day where im alive, i'm ambulatory, and my loved ones are ok is a blessing. even if today was awful, tomorrow is a new day and a new opportunity to live, love, explore, listen to music, watch a sunset, or take in a ball game. i try to make sure i show my appreciate for this life every single day that i have it.

  20. I just don't see the analogy. Germany and Japan were humbled and desperate and thus susceptible to our influence. The GOP controls all of government except the House. I'd be happy to throw some bones of kindness to a rebuilding GOP in ten years, if the Dems have the presidency, the House and Senate, a majority of the Supreme Court, and a majority of state governments. If there's any analogy to be made to WW2, what you're suggesting is more akin to trying to rebuild Germany and Japan in 1943 or something. It makes no sense. Right now we need to beat Trumpism to a pulp, and we can worry about rebuilding the GOP when they've been thoroughly defeated.

  25. Y’all, don’t block Chrispy. Read it. This is what the rationalization, and the banality of evil, looks like. This is how the nazi regime rationalized. You’ll note that everything - literally EVERYTHING - bad that has happened is the victims’ fault. He MUST care about children, he has one of his own. And if only those terrible brown people cared as much for their kids as good white folks like Chrispy do, well, they’d stay in their place, and their kids wouldn’t drown. I mean, sure, they might die of any number of other things that are causing people to flee the only home they’ve ever known. But they wouldn’t drown. So see, this is really the brown peoples’ fault. Men wearing SS uniforms said this exact sort of thing as they bounced their own laughing children on their knee. Everything Chrispy says, we’ve read variations of before. Read it. Soak up the evil. Realize that Chrispy is who we are, and who is in charge of the country. And then realize that everything you thought you knew about this country - boiling down to the US being the good guys - is a complete lie.

  26. Do you ever get laid? Because FYI, women can smell the kind of disdain and hatred that you hold for women. Did you call Swallwell a “nasty angry bitch” for his rehearsed attacks on Mayor Pete? How about Castro for not only attacking Beto but lying while doing it? No? And nice racist cherry on top of your misogynistic shitpile with the quip about “too much bling”. You need to head to your local pet store and get your dog whistle checked out. It’s way too loud and out of tune to be effective.

  27. Despite all the hand-wringing I would like to point out that 1 of these is not like the others. Of the five guys listed here, one of them does not have the tape to be in this conversation (but I guess he could, as a SR) and is also the most limited athletically of the 5 as well. That's why I think the only real damage from losing Broughton is the perception hit. I think the actual on-field impact is pretty negligible. Collins is the guy in this class to me that is the least replaceable and has the chance to be a true blue chip difference maker on the DL. I want them both but if we are talking about DL that help you win titles, it's guys like Collins. Sweat and Broughton are athletic mirrors with Sweat having undeniably better results between the chalk. It's a pretty good case study in where you're from, what camps you do, who your trainers are, and how that all works to get your name out there - those things have a huge impact on your recruiting ranking and hence your perception.

  32. This kind of post is exactly why it's a good move, actually. When he signed with the Warriors, people ripped him. People are now ripping him (not necessarily the same people) for a fairly opposite signing. Whiners and wannabes are going to rip him for whatever decision he makes, so fuck 'em. He signed with Brooklyn because he wanted to sign with Brooklyn. Good for him.

  34. It’s simply irresponsible for them to continue to allow people to guess where a recruit will sign. There’s too much at stake. Someone alert the President. Perhaps an executive order should be issued to stop the madness.

  36. Looking at that, it's fair to say your a talented dissembler. Not going to take it point by point as folks who have paid attention recognize it. You revise, introduce then misattribute, and distort. When under scrutiny, you hedge --> "And yes, the dossier you love and cherish is probably Russian disinformation packaged up as work product of a western intelligence operative." Now it's "probably" ? LOFL. What Hugo commented on above,"arguably the most significant and consequential scandal in US history...FISA abuse" is what really belies any concern you claim to have. Trumpkins simply don't give a fuck. And you gaslight like nobody's business. It's pretty damn conspicuous.
