I was in attendance at the A&M game last nigh, and here are some thoughts: I am a Texas State grad who just happened to be in the area on business and was invited to the game by a customer. I didn't know what to expect, but I must say I was blown away by the hospitality. When the Bobcats ran out, an aggie fan behind me, who noticed my Texas State cap, said to me, "Wow, your team really looks good in those uniforms." Not expecting this, I leaned over to my customer and asked, "Is this how it is at every game? You guys being so nice to the visiting fans?" Then all of the sudden the customer started frenching me right there in front of everyone. I'm like, "Whoa man what's that all about?" Unknown to me, in between the teams running out and the nice lady behind me complimenting TX State, A&M had already scored a touchdown. "We kiss after touchdowns here, my friend." explained the customer. "Okay, Cool?" Unfortunately A&M would score more that night. I don't know if the guy roofied me or what, but it seemed as if they stadium was swaying, and there were men dressed in white overalls acting like cheerleaders. Apparently they even welcomed in a foreign country's military to watch the game. They kissed each other as well. After the game, the customer took me out to the "bar" area of town. The people there were so nice, saying what a good team we had. Next thing, I woke up in a hotel room with some lady named Karen. She was maybe in her 60s, and had a tramp stamp that said "Jimbo, tho." It was kinda weird, but she was nice. Just thought I'd share my experience. Jack.41 points

Regarding the IT trembling, it would be interesting to know how close their source(s) is (are) with the staff. I don't think they're very connected on the coaching side, so whatever they're gleaning is not coming from someone super close to the data. The staff thinks Coburn can be a star, this year. There is no trepidation with the WR group. It's the biggest given on the team and they're going 3 deep easily there if they want to do so. The OL depth concern is coming from Herman and he's saying it in the press. It's a manipulation to press the younger players into busting their ass to compete. They have strong depth. Some of it is very young. The Boyce shit is basically a manipulation as well. Someone has to start against La Tech with Cook out. Might as well be the guy that they think is the highest risk of transferring. After Watson and potentially Caldwell show maturation, Boyce can come or go because he'll be passed. Caldwell is great in simple defensive play calls and against predictable offensive situations. He's fucking lost on the field if the difficulty elevates to something above elementary. So he's a year or two away from being a dude on the field. Watson is good right now, he just need snaps. They're fine at CB. They'll get burnt a lot this year due to inexperience, but that's going to happen for anyone as young as they are, especially this early in the season. For all of our handwringing over the LBs, they're looking good there. The freshman are further ahead than they hoped, Ossai is a fucking beast, the JUCOs can play and they will play. Dele slimmed down and picked up speed, and he won't be a liable on the field unless they're facing an air raid. I'm not an "Orlando is a top 5 DC in CFB" guy, but I do think he knows what he's doing. I don't know of anyone actually worrying about Texas knowing what it is doing when it lines up this week or next.13 points

Im glad you werent on the jury how about you start on page one, and read the fucking thread from page 1 and then read all the linked articles. I mean i know thats probably too much time for you to invest yourself into reading about a horrible situation, but you really need to do that before coming on here and acting like you dont understand why the verdict was just. This isnt a case of ONE employee of the school going after the school. its a case of the entire senior management team of the school punishing a small business for having the temerity of denying an underage black kid to buy alcohol, combined with then shoplifting, and then sponsoring a Dean-led jihad against the bakery encouraging students to protest a fake-news racist problem. They literally have emails and texts from school officials asking each other how they can hurt the bakery the most by cancelling their 100-year old relationship on providing baked goods to the school. That is so far out of their jurisdiction as a school administrator to handle a petty arrest (which btw, police records show that something like a 3 year period around 40 white people were arrested for shoplifting, 6 black and 2 asian. which matches the racial makeup of the whole city almost to the percentage).9 points

"Sorry about the...." Fuck him. It wasn't a mistake. He saw -- correctly -- that racist dog whistles rile up the base to a fever pitch. So he gleefully blew that whistle, over and over. Fuck you, Abbott. Choosing racism wasn't a "mistake." It was a goddamned conscious choice, done out of greed, selfishness, and ego. You chose dangerous racist rhetoric ON PURPOSE, for political gain. You don't get off so easy as saying it was a 'mistake." "Party of personal responsibility" my ass.8 points

A little less than two years ago I was in the midst of a back and forth dry/wasted struggle that lasted around 6 months after putting together close to 2 years of sobriety. My friends were worried and starting to tire of my bullshit, but one friend reached out his hand and offered me a flight to Denver for some air, calm, and football. I thought a change scenery for a couple of days might do the trick and get me to a place I could really get sober again. I took off work early that day, smoked a little pot, and had a glass of wine to calm my nerves before heading to the airport. That hour of fucking around led me to miss the check in for my flight, which in turn led me directly to a liquor store to drink away my anger. On the 40 min back down I-35 to my house I had swilled enough of a liter of vodka that I was noticeably swerving and another driver called the police. I knew I was being followed so I hauled ass home and beat the cops, but my drunk ass sat in the car making an excuse to my good friend why I missed the flight. By the time I exited the vehicle, the police had spotted my car and were up on me. They had me. I resisted. It got ugly. I spent the night in jail and got an APC (Actual Physical Control) charge for my efforts. All of my years of drinking and I had only been in trouble with the law in college, yet here I was 38 and catching an alcohol inflicted charge after getting sober, and then unsober. I tell that story because I know what happens if I go back out and drink. I've just gone through one of the toughest periods of sobriety I've experienced and I didn't drink. I stayed surrendered, went to meetings, and kept praying to my higher power. Tonight, I fly to Denver with over 19 months to help my same friend move after a bad break up and watch the opening of football season while giving him a hand. He doesn't have to worry about me missing that flight. Living amends at its fucking finest. I couldn't be more grateful. Hang in ladies and gents. It always gets better even if I don't see it for weeks at a time. Much love, happy days.6 points

Rebuttal: QB: Mond was easily the best QB on the field, and there were multiple SEC signal callers in the stadium. Jimbo is a QB whisperer. RB: Corbin gashed TxSt repeatedly, often actually gaining yards in the teeth of an defense that played its super bowl last night. OL: This is recognized as a key position any any team. Green, to pick one example, was so talented that he has been named a starter already. Mond’s Pocket was so clean that he was able to walk out after the game under his own power. TE: Clemson will be stuck playing the guessing game trying to game-plan for the ag’s Use of TEs as Jimbo brilliantly directed his offense to a blowout win without tipping his hand here. They pretty much decoyed at The top in-state SEC home stadium last night. WR: undeniable team strength. Abused the TxSt’s vaunted “golfers in the rough” recruits. DE: Lack of sacks doesn’t tell the story of how this unit unloaded on the ‘cats at roaring Kyle field. Did not allow enough time to make a sandwich on more than the most insignificant smattering of plays. DT: Another undeniable strength. JMad, Peevy, and co making redass ags remember how great the wrecking crew could be. With similar opponents and upgrades at a few surrounding positions, this D could wreck some shop. LB: Smart money says Buddy may be the best ag LB in decades if not ever. Feaster never publicly denied the well known fact that he chose SC to allow extra time to get ready for this bunch instead of staying at Clemson or transferring to his first choice at TxSt. DB: They don’t call A&M DBU for nothing. Leon beat out a handful of talented freshman for the starting S nod, and two different SEC starting corners faced that shocked TSU receiver core. Summary: Clemson better look out. Moral means good, and the ags’ victories are moral ones no doubt.6 points

Any time I see terms like " 'Nuf Said" or "Let that sink in!" or "Period.", I find myself wanting to climb through the screen or across the table and punch that fucking person in their cakehole repeatedly until one of us passes out or dies. The preemptive shutting of the case phrases are usually uttered by clowns in situations in which there is absolutely more to be said.6 points

I was also just totally in the UK. EVERYONE was talking about how much they love Brexit. So much so, they all voted for the Tories in the last snap election, but it was bullshit fake votes and illegal voters who gave Labour all those new seats. And let me tell you, they were also talking about how everyone in London loves Trump. It's true. Those protests? Bussed in people from California. And don't even get me started on how random strangers would come up to me and like "can you believe John Podesta and the DNC refused to give their servers to the FBI and CIA? VERY SUSPICIOUS AND DISGRACEFUL!"6 points

His whole brand was faked by a philosophy of "fake it until you make it". It's all stage craft and now he is in a position where his slight of hand and marketing tricks can and will be called out for the lies they are. It's why he hates the media so much, because they pull back the curtain on how much of a fraud he is to the core. Trump the carnival barker.4 points

Every time I see that I laugh at DJ Monroe being on the sideline. I don't know why. Also, my memory may be faulty, but I seem to recall that CTJ was calling on Shaggy for Greg Davis to be fired. If so, that's some seventh level voodoo ninja M.C. Escher hologram shit, calling for yourself to be fired as a way to throw the Shaggy posse off your trail. "Moi? Greg Davis? Would I be calling for my own firing if I was Greg Davis? I think not!" On the other hand, maybe only Greg Davis is clever enough to engage in that kind of subterfuge. Maybe I'm Greg Davis. Maybe we all are.4 points

seriously though, he was a part of our national history. That moment is eternal, will survive for centuries, and he was living with us - which is pretty cool. I'm in awe of people still alive who are WW2 vets, Holocaust survivors etc. who were part of monumental events. These are special people and their passing is a huge loss. Here is his interview from 5 years ago4 points

“Being a fan of Texas State, I was blessed by the Lord for the opportunity to attend tonight’s game at Kyle Field, the finest stadium in all of sports. Never having been anywhere in the state of Texas before, I was amazed at how the Fighting Texas Aggie fans were the finest fans in all of sports. Before the game, I got to see the Fighting Texas Aggie Corps, the finest Corps in all of sports. I also visited The Dixie Chicken, the finest restaurant in all of sports. After leaving The Dixie Chicken to head to the stadium, I got lost seven times, but I was helped each time by one of the Aggies I met on campus, the finest campus in all of sports. I will tell all my friends visiting Texas A&M is the finest visiting possible in all of sports.”4 points
