i don't know why people have a fundamental need to take a side on issues like this. looks to me like we got two assholes. driver knew exactly what he was doing, as evidenced by the honking horn. he wanted to get the hell out of there and these protesters were inconveniencing him. but he didn't really want to run anyone over, he just wanted them the hell out of his way. then the crowd gets angry, because a car pulled into them and honked, and reacted. this asshole felt the need to carry a fucking ak47 in low ready slung position. i would argue that the driver doesn't even need a fact finding of the barrel in his direction. just seeing someone kitted up like that is threat enough. so he shoots him in self-defense, which i think is fairly justifiable in the end, even if he instigated the situation. both assholes went looking for trouble, and trouble found them.20 points

You can post videos, some of which are inside tweets that have other content. Post a tweet that's all political content with a random static image, you're taking a day off like elguapo is I swear to god you people are insufferable. I enjoy threads like this. I have no idea, nor do I care about the politics behind the people making these tweets. I find what is happening on the videos newsworthy and worth watching. If you don't like it don't come in this thread.12 points

You're not wrong. Everyone in either direction's mind is made up. You could just as easily have said "His base knows he has to do it politically, and will dismiss it" and "The democrats know it's not sincere anyway." You're proving Red Five's point; Considering it doesn't matter, the guy is going to do what he fucking wants which is not recognize the life of a civil right's legend with respect for his passing, because he doesn't believe in civil rights, and he doesn't want to do it. So he can continue being his piece of shit self.12 points

No surprise there. But there’s more than enough talent on campus to win and win big. He just has to coach. If he wins big this year, he’ll be pulling in sick talent for 2022. If he steps in his dick again, he’ll be in his way out. Once you settle in on that, and know he’ll be leaving the cupboard pretty well stocked, the uncertainty becomes easier to stomach. our defensive line should be fucking filthy this year. I mean filthy, and 2 deep. We lost a stud WR, but there should be more overall talent at WR than we had on the field at times last season. Eagles, Smith, Whittington and Washington are fiiiilthy. And that’s before we see what we get from Black, Moore, and whoever else. RB is fucking filthy. The only question mark is the oline, honestly. And it’s not if they’ll be deplorable it’s just can they take the next step. Unless Yurich is a complete fucking fraud and is Tim Beck level shitty, we should be in plenty good shape. Now, do you feel better or do I need to write another sentence with the word filthy in it?11 points

I posted back in October when Shelby had internal bleeding and a spleen mass. She had emergency surgery and was given a 50-50 chance of living, which she did but the mass was hemangiosarcoma, a malignant cancer that has almost always metastasized at the time of diagnosis. We opted for chemotherapy and she was expected to live 3-4 months, 6 months if we were really lucky. It’s been 9 months and she’s been the happiest dog with incredible energy and personality. The vet has said she’s a miracle dog and we’ve been very thankful, but we know she’s on borrowed time. This past week she took a turn for the worse. We were unfortunately out of town when it first happened but we got home and took her to her vet oncologist today. She’s very anemic which typically means bleeding, but luckily the abdominal ultrasound and chest x-ray didn’t show anything. She has some kidney problems so maybe it’s her kidneys or maybe GI, we aren’t sure. The vet offered her treatment with a blood transfusion and medicine, which we accepted. It’s pretty expensive so it wasn’t an easy decision, but she’s beat the odds on her previous issues and her quality of life has been outstanding until the last few days, so we want to give her the chance to rebound again. Crossing our fingers that she comes home happy again this week. We know the day will come when she’s no longer fixable and we’re prepared to say goodbye if it appears she’s suffering with no available treatment. We are just hoping this isn’t that point and that she has more good days ahead. By the way, her vet oncologist is incredible - Dr. Allstadt at Veterinary Specialists of North Texas. Hopefully no one needs these services, but if you are in the Fort Worth area and your pup has cancer, she is highly recommended.7 points

Can we ask for a different mfg at inoculation? I’m serious. Those farmers are as inept as the day is long. Hell. They’ve killed people with ice cream who knows what this will do.7 points

Having a raw nerve, a babyman, an intellectually incurious and ignorant neophyte, a repellant diseased hypocrite, a pathological narcissist, a flippant blabbermouth, a lying sack of crap, an unapologetic and malignant reptile as leader of the free world is a disaster of epic proportions. I appreciate adults in charge of the bomb.7 points

Have you watched Minnesota under Fleck? Have you seen Fleck and staff's evals at both Western Mich and Minnesota? I'll help you out you aren't making the point you are trying to make. Also, Fields has one bar to clear -- "Is he better than Juwan Mitchell"? If the answer is "Yes" or "Maybe" he is a take. It's not an incredibly high bar but it is a very simple way to make our depth chart that much better.7 points

Saturday night as a burning desire an old timer with 13 years shared that he had received a call from his ex wife earlier that morning. His 26 year old son was dead. Drank himself into liver failure and kept drinking. There weren't any tears in his eyes. He said he had already come to peace with it and knew it was coming. It was a somber reminder that you can't get sober for anyone else, but you don't have to drink and you can always get your ass to a meeting. AA and 12 step isn't for everyone and I would never preach that it is. Anything that can get you clean and keep you that way is something worth holding on to. But the courage that alcohol and drugs gave me pales in comparison to the strength and courage that I've seen in those rooms. I used to think it wasn't for me, but it's one of only two things in my life that makes more sense than anything else (the other is music) and I know that it will help me make sense of everything else. There's always someone with more time than you that has seen worse shit and come out sober despite it. So as I sit here unemployed without a clue of what my future holds, still largely restless, irritable, and discontent, drinking coffee and smoking Marlboro lights, I am absolutely certain of two things: 1. I don't have to drink today, and 2. I will be at a meeting later.7 points

It’s just funny you’re only sharing vids and pics from right-wing sources. You’d never dream of posting the police brutality vids celery & brisket shared, and they’d never dream of posting the vandalism vids you’re sharing. It’s why trying to keep “politics” out of a thread like this is pointless.6 points

I think you look at the 2021 depth chart and see the possibility of only 1 of Sweat/Coburn/Ojomo on the roster, which is assuming that Coburn and Sweat both leave after kicking ass. If that's the case the depth at DT revolves around Ojomo staying for a 4th and hopefully 5th year (so that he can celebrate his 13th birthday with the team). Sawyer Goram-Welch, and Broughton/Collins. I assume with the limited number of offers at DT that the staff feels like they have at least one of the DE recruits that they like inside as a flex player (like Collins) and a good feeling about Regis/Iwunnah. I still think the staff should consider taking a longer look at Jonathon Jones if he would be the kind of guy to stick for 4/5 years. Losing Mpagi hurts and likely puts Sanders directly on the depth chart/field as a TR FR. Would be nice to take a guy with enormous upside (Jones) and stash and physically develop him. Guys that can get after the QB are too valuable to let them get away. I think WR could end up being Cain, Alexis, Jackson, and 2 others. Though Dixon and Harrison both going to WR may reduce that need, esp if they counter any possible attrition at the spot. I could see the OL number only being 3. The OT depth chart is deep but the interior could use some numbers and adding 2 along with Conner would be good.6 points

Don't be skeered of going longer than you think necessary on these thing. There's a lot fo fat in that meat and, much as is the case with Pork Butt, it's hard to overcook them in my experience. IIRC, these probed butter soft about 2 hrs before I pulled them. Had great, crunchy bark on the outside and the buttery dead cow inside of that...6 points
