So let me get this straight... If Sleepy Joe were president, none of Trump's "accomplishments" would happen? For the love of all that is holy, fuck yes, please. Give me Sleepy Joe and a fist full of Ambien.35 points

I miss the old booking photos thread so I'm bringing it back. If this needs to be moved or deleted, feel free. You know, you can keep on being the guy screaming that the Enola Gay had a taillight out and the whole thing should have been called off. You can be the guy that says yeah, kids were getting raped and killed in the school bathroom, but the witnesses DID NOT HAVE VALID HALL PASSES therefore their testimony is shit. There are times when you might be legally right, but when vigilante dad shows up with the Greener full of buckshot, it won’t matter. The hill you are dying on is built for ants, and you should reconsider your sense of justice. Justice, not law. Law is dead.12 points

As a country, we suffer from such malignant selfishness and self-absorption as to border on solipsism. And it's killing us. Our society is failing, and this is a big piece of it.12 points

SIAP, I'm just getting caught up but glanced Johnathan Swan's wiki, and, well here is his wiki intro, lol: Jonathan Swan (born August 7, 1985)[2] is an Australian journalist who works as a political reporter for Axios. He has received overwhelmingly positive feedback for the way he handled President Trump in an interview. He beat him so bad, I was expecting him to climb the top rope and hit a Macho Man flying elbow and snap into an M.F. Slim Jim. It was sick af bro.12 points

That's a small short term study and the damage has not been studied out for morbidity and mortality. The actual heart damage does not appear to be that significant for most but makes a nice scary headline. I wouldn't freak about any of the stupid news headlines until your doctor freaks out about the stupid headlines. I can tell you the hypervigilance by the layman in reading the headlines is driving doctors crazy. Our 24 hour news cycle coupled with every dweeby ego driven researcher wanting their moment of glory or misplaced catastrophe warning has given the populace a huge generalized anxiety disorder. Your not going to change anything by worrying about every nuance of Covid 19. For example, Covid was going to knock out all our kidneys, but I have seen data recently that shows acute kidney injury is far less damaging than they first feared. My biggest long term concern for now is pulmonary remodeling from unchecked viral immune response. We could see a significant subset of people with reduced pulmonary function but that remains to be seen. Lung tissue is pretty good about healing unless permanently scarred. Yes, this virus is newish and weird but it's still a virus from a family that has infected humans forever and we haven't changed physiologically in thousands of years except from our poor lifestyle choices. The potential is much scarier for a different type of disease that could alter humanity but Covid ain't it on a macro evolutionary scale. We certainly can demand a better infrastructure to our public health and infectious response entities but besides being healthy, there's not much else for you or I to do. I refuse to go through life scared of it.11 points

You know what? Fuck all of you. We live in a nightmarish hellscape of fake news and fake social media along with a president that has the IQ of a fence post and half of the country being completely batshit crazy and thinking there's a global cabal of pederasts running everything and I'm sorry if I can't spot what's real and what's not anymore.10 points

TFB quick hitter from Super K...too good not to post ***Spoke to a few people about freshman QB Hudson Card. ***Have heard absolutely rave reviews. Such high praise that I actually wonder if, God forbid, anything happened to Sam, if Casey Thompson would actually be the back up. ***One source said he/she believes Hudson will, in time, be much better than Sam. ***Said he’s “unbelievable. Will be a bigger star than Sam”. ***Again, this isn’t come from one or two folks. I’ve heard it from many. With QB it’s hard to project what will happen when the real bullets fly but it’s been a while since I’ve felt the real possibility of QB continuity at Texas. So, if Hudson is as good as they seem to think, then it’ll go a long way it establishing stability at Texas to know that there will be a competent QB ready to take over after Sam’s departure.8 points

The Commander in Chief said it was an attack. The Department of Defense corrected that statement and said it wasn't based on what they currently know. Those are facts that are important in discussing this event. Do you really think those facts should be ignored here because of how it reflects on the president?7 points

I still can't believe some dipshit tried to compare driving away from the stadium after a home game to marxists mobs surrounding vehicles who are trying to drive down a road. I just want to go down the road freely. I dont want to participate. Don't block my vehicle and then get mad when I try to move around you. Don't arm yourselves to shoot at me if I try to go around you. That is not protesting. That is 100% the definition of terrorism. Look up the fuckin definition, please. Actually fuck that - I'll do it for you. Also - if the purpose of blocking roadways and inciting violence or verbal intimidation is supposed to be the way to get people to notice whats being protested (as some other fuckin retard here suggested) that's not going to work out very well lol. If you have to surround my car and yell obscenities at me to get me to notice what you're protesting - you're 100% assuring I don't side with you.7 points

-Nahlin/Hamilton having Conner at 48th in state is...interesting. Nahlin's been awfully critical of our staff's OL recruiting, so I guess it makes sense he rates Conner that low, but it certainly doesn't give him any credibility when it comes to talking about OL evals. I would've been more in line with this around the time he committed to us, but he has improved drastically since then, and his overall projection looks way better than 48th in state at this point. -I'm surprised they have Arroyo at 43. Nahlin, especially, was really high on Arroyo earlier on. THis seems too low. -Stowers at 42. Both question his throwing and ability to develop as a QB, especially in Jimbo's system. I do think Stowers has shown enough progress that he'll absolutely be a QB long-term, but Jimbo's system is about the worst fit imaginable for him. Crazy he can't figure that out. -Coffey at 41. Agree that he's naturally good at football, but his measurables could really limit him at the next level. I think 247's grade of high 3 start is about right. Maybe low 4 star if he has a good senior season. -Blackwell at 36: I really like him as a take. Him plus Cooks will be great. -Thomas at 35. Nahlin sees a much higher ceiling than Hamilton (or me). I agree that his senior film will be important, since he didn't play as a junior, but I don't see the explosiveness (either around the edge or at get off) for him to become dominant. I do think he'll become a quality starter and like the take, but he doesn't look like he'll ever be the guy other teams have to account for on our DL, which is fine. -Mukuba at 30 is crazy low. -Ish at 23. I agree that he's got a slight frame, but he shows the physicality to make up for it at outside CB. I don't think it will be an issue at the college level. -JJ Henry at 21. Both guys are way too high on him. He's good, but he's not elite. Nahlin makes a good point that he's more of a vertical threat from the slot, which doesn't really match how Herman uses the Y. Maybe that will change some with Yurcich involved, but he doesn't seem like a great fit for our scheme. He'd still be a good take though. Maybe he could make it at Z. -Ezra at 19. I wonder if we'll ever get any real answers on the disparity between 995ers and college staffs on this guy. It's one of the stranger disparities I can remember. -Preston Stone 18. lulz. -Earle at 17. Too low by about 10 spots. -James Brock at 16. Wow. Just wow. Nahlin continues to show he shouldn't say anything about OL evals. - Regis at 13. Definitely a little high, but his upside is through the roof. He could be a rich man's Poona Ford and get drafted way higher because he's 6'1, not 5'11. -Sawyer Robertson at 12. aggy will hate their lives for the next 3 years if this is right. Consider me a Sawyer Robertson fan from here on out. -Cooks at 11 is pretty high. He's a great player, but I don't see quite that level of impact for him, and in general ILBs just aren't that valuable unless they're the elite of the elite at that spot. -3 OL in the top 9 in state, and we will whiff on all of them, so that's fun. Yet even with 2 of those guys being in the top 6, we have a very real possibility of landing 3 of the top 6 guys in-state on their list, which is big. Outside of the 2018 class, we haven't done well with the top 5 or so guys in-state since Mack's heyday. Even years where we've put together good classes, we tend to miss on the truly elite ones. Edit: I also wonder how closely Gerry has been evaluating Texas prospects lately. A lot of his comment seem a little outdated/thoughts that are more in line with guys' sophomore film.7 points

Narrator: He lost the election but it was not okay with him. What maybe gets me the most about this Axios interview is I've seen several pieces from the media praising the interviewer for asking simple follow up questions as if they legitimately didn't know that was possible before.7 points

Meh. I’d be interested to see someone go back and chart the accuracy of 9.95er rankings, but I’d be willing to be that OL rankings are by far the most inaccurate, so star hunting at OL is foolish. Jaylen Garth was also a top 100 prospect being recruited by every school in the country when he committed to us. His ranking only dropped due to his knee injury making him miss his whole senior year. I also don’t find that chart very damning. 8/10 OL Hand has signed were 4 stars. An 80% blue chip ratio is elite. Not to mention there’s usually not a ton of highly ranked OL each year in state, and we’ve intentionally (and probably rightly) passed on higher ranked OL almost every year. Based on a quick skim of the rankings, we signed 3 of the top 6 OL in TX for 2019 and 3 of the top 6 in 2020 (and that includes Crawford who everyone passes on, Lindberg who had a weird recruitment, and Akinola, who we reportedly didn’t let commit). Obviously 2021 isn’t going so well, but this year is the outlier by far.6 points

They are, and Abbott who had to clarify that "local control" the GOP has preached for years actually meant state control when he overrode localities ability to enact stricter lock down measures, has now 180-ed again and left localities with the decision whether or not to open schools and possibly be defunded by his party on the federal level. I don't understand why he keeps revisiting this. The totally-not-an-agent of Russia just withdrew troops from Germany, has withdrawn from nuclear proliferation treaties, signed off on Russian invasion of Ukraine, ceded power to them in Syria, sided with their president over his own intelligence service, not enforced bipartisan sanctions against them, and makes a daily effort to light our country on fire, question our electoral system integrity, and deepen divides to the point where we actually have to contemplate the likelihood of a civil war. Unredact the full Mueller report or shut the fuck up.5 points

Chris Murray at 31? Bruh. Stahp. Jonathon Jones not on the top 100. Perfect chance for them to show up the other 9.95ers, but I guess that will remain Surly's job. Nahlin's bitchassedness is outweighing any attempt at logic all over that list. Piggybacking on what @Burt Macklin covered - his OL evals are just horrid. but let's look at a few other comments that made me lol. On Sturdivant :: 4.67 40 - 4.31 shuttle -- 87 rec 10 TD -- he's a productive WR. He is NOT a gamebreaker. Ahmonte Watkins :: 4.76 shuttle. FOUR DOT SEVEN SIX. GTFO Nahlin. Fucking hell. both of them grasping for any reason to rate Abiara as high as they did. There's not a reason. Every ranking service looking for some reason, unsure how any of them landed here.5 points
