Let's say Notre Dame gets pummeled by 3 tds on Saturday. Yes, that likely means ATM is in the CFP because 2020. However, this isn't an absurd outcome. Clemson has the horses to do it, it's hard to beat a team twice in the same season, and Lea, at least, is already distracted heading into this game. Let's say Bama beats the shit out of UF because ... well that's likely to happen. If either or both of these things happen, and Texas isn't keeping Herman and Texas isn't sitting tight on a Meyer deal, we should start hearing actual buzz if either one of these guys are in play by no later than Tuesday. There is no fucking way a lid can be kept on this shit for much longer with whoever the target is. The same would be true for Campbell with a loss to OU if he's in play. If Ohio State loses and we don't hear jack shit about Urban Meyer after that, he's not in the picture. It's all weird. There is no fucking buzz. Nothing much is being said about anything. I pushed today about Herman staying or the UM conspiracy being real and was not left much doubt that a) Herman is fucking gone and b) there isn't anything hidden with UM. In short, obviously I choose to believe that there is a grand conspiracy at the highest levels and that Tom Herman will be fired and Urban Meyer will be announced as UT's head coach as soon as OSU is out of the NC picture.24 points

I wanted to come back to this because, as absurd and laughable as Trump’s War on Low Shower Pressure is, I think it reveals something important about the real motivations driving Trumpism. No, not shower pressure. Trumpists are driven by a general desire to return to some vague past state of existence that they intuitively believe is synonymous with “America.” When you and I think about what defines America, we might mention legal principles, economic theories, and geographic features that distinguish the US from other nations. We’re a resource rich, continental-scale nation that operates a regulated capitalist economy and is governed under a constitutional democracy that reserves certain rights for the people and the states. You might even mention our history as former native land that was colonized by European powers, won independence through war with the British, and then expanded through a series of purchases, wars, and other means of grabbing land. But if you ask a Trumper what “America” is to them, I guarantee you’ll get a wholly different answer. They may pay lip service to vague ideas like freedom and liberty, but much of what Trumpers think is important about America are in reality just superficial details they recall from a hazy memory of the way “things used to be.” It might include things like prayer in school, standing for the anthem, unquestioned respect for cops, and people at stores saying “Merry Christmas” instead of some commie bullshit like “Happy Holidays.” And yes seemingly absurd shit like stronger water pressure and hard-flushin’ toilets and gas guzzling cars. If they’re honest, they might admit that America as they understand it had a lot fewer ethnic people. Those on the left have zeroed in on this as if racism was the driving animus for the majority of Trumpers. That is a mistake. Most Trumpers believe themselves to not be racist and, in many important respects, they likely are not. They may count minorities among their friends and family and might welcome members of all races into their flock with open arms. Certainly there is a significant part of the Trump block that is overtly and unapologetically racist. And many of Trump’s policies have racist motivation or impact. But I don’t believe even the majority of Trump supporters are consciously, intentionally racist in the same way that, say, David Duke or Jared Taylor are. Some degree of casual racism is part of rank and file Trumpism, but I tend to think much of it is tied up with a general sentimentality for the good old days when you could say crass, insensitive, even racist stuff without being accused of actually being a racist. In other words, it’s just more sentimentality for the perceived “good old days.” Trumpers fundamentally want the world they think they used to have. Trump understands that instinctively, and he keeps finding different flavors of weird sentimental attachment to stroke. Meanwhile, we dismiss each one on its own specific merits as if it’s not part of a larger phenomenon. That’s a mistake. Low-flow shower heads, anthem kneeling, and PC culture are all just different perceived attacks on the same driving sentimentality. What we should be doing is emphasizing sentimental attachments to constructive ideas and policies from the past, which is of course difficult for progressives to do.21 points

You know... we all made mistakes when we were younger. Perhaps Lump has turned over a new leaf? Maybe she's seen the error of her ways? This country loves a comeback story. And let's face it, there is no greater comeback story than a fake tit posting, alcoholic, absentee parent, Lance Armstrong clock choking, Harvard educated, Romeo Rose trolling, cam girl Faith posing, lingerie football playing, attention whoring, injury faking, shitting on the homeless, gamergating, plagiarizing, fake fire fighting, disaster sciencing, ripping off the elderly, physically deformed, pathological liar ascending to public office. It's the gotdam American dream, a classic redemption story, and you guys are shitting all over her. She's an inspiration. If Lump can turn her life around, maybe there is hope for the rest of us? Maybe one day I will actually read an entire Randolph Duke post? Maybe Spider2Ybanana will have an insightful comment? Maybe futureman will stop trolling? Maybe Phlegm will make a coherent post? Maybe closetojumping will finally admit that he's Greg Davis? Maybe Katfid will stop judging people by the color of their skin instead of the content of their character? Maybe NowThis will come out of hiding?20 points

Nope. The bill is passed by the Congress. The President can veto or sign the bill into law. Congress can override the veto. Did you not see Schoolhouse Rock?19 points

So I fibbed about sharing one last old picture (no more of college me that’s boring). This one comes with a cool story. My dad had heard Terry Bradshaw talk about drinking pickle juice for football related reasons. So my dad gets this flask and has it engraved and goes to a deli and tells them to fill it with pickle juice. He gives it to Terry. And tells him what’s in it. You can’t see what is engraved on it but it said, “Pickle Juice: The drink of champions.” Terry laughed his ass off. Later he mentioned it on the Sunday NFL show on Fox. Cool moment anyway. Whether y’all like Terry or not. He said it was one of the coolest gifts he’d ever received from a fan. Which my dad was. I had to take a picture of the picture but whatever. My mom is wayyyyy to smiley there lol.12 points

No. This is BDE. (This is an actual screen shot of a hurricane projection for Delta that I stole from the Daily Texan Weather thread). Knocking up the weather girl was unnecessary as I can tell from her expression. This is BDE and it should be in burnt orange.12 points

What I find strange is how many of you all with this supposed Big Dick Energy are all fine with the rationalization that Urban is just waiting for tOSU season to be over. Two things: 1. I realize there are guys he could want for the staff coaching for tOSU and it may be hard to get them to commit initially with their season ongoing BUT if he's so concerned that he can't do it with this EXACT perfect set of circumstances/staff then is he really still the guy he used to be. I would like THE Urban Meyer, not some pussy version of him that isn't still confident in his own big dick energy to put together a kick ass staff and wreck shop with or without a few pieces from his previous band. 2. Who gives a fuck about tOSU. They are the fucking enemy, especially recruiting these days in this state. If you are Urban Meyer and are REALLY serious about being the coach at the University of Texas one of the first things you need to do is kneecap some bullshit noodle-chili eating motherfuckers who are coming into this state and taking the talent out. If I were in that position I would realize that fucking tOSU over was in my own self-interest given the job I was taking and sure wouldn't pussy foot around starting to talk to their coaches and disrupt them. Again if you are Urban Myer and not willing to do that you don't really have what it takes any more. I'm fine with some of the other rationalizations here but the "waiting for tOSU season to be over so he can talk to coaches there" isn't one of them.10 points

This is super cool. If you haven't watched it before, give it a shot. To do this in front of Page/Plant/Jones, and get their approval ... watching Page smiling and getting into it is something.9 points

I have a buddy that is a roofing contractor, Terry had, or has a house in Dallas. He said he went to bid on his roof, and got the job. Terry even got up on the roof to bullshit during the inspection, afterwards he took him through his house and showed him a bunch of cool memorabilia. When he brought his crew to roof the house, Terry stayed on the roof with them. He brought drinks, told jokes, busted balls, and was just a really cool guy to be around. At the end of the day, they all came down for beers on his back porch. He is a lifelong Cowboys fan, but his favorite QB is now Terry Bradshaw, Roger Stabauch wouldn't have mingled with the hired folk. CHIEF7 points
