Rioters really isn’t the right word. They were terrorists. We should call them that and punish them accordingly. They were anti-American traitors to democracy. It wasn’t a riot. It was an attempted coup d’etat directed by an American President who lost an election. The first President who never served in the military or held a public office of any kind before. A malignant narcissist and sociopath who was the most unqualified and unfit wretch ever to hold the office. Trump’s goons weren’t there to commit vandalism. That’s what rioters do. No, they were there to overthrow American constitutional democracy and if they had succeeded, and managed to assassinate Mike Pence and Nancy Pelosi and whomever else in the process, Trump would still be President and would be for life. And then one of his idiot kids would take over. Jail is too good for them. They should hang.15 points

Remember when people were crying and bitching after Sark’s first week on the job that he wasn’t putting together an adequate recruiting support staff fast enough...15 points

Just to remind people the power of all the phone recording and social media. This is how the cops originally framed the incident. Without those people distracting those poor cops and recording stuff, George is just another dead black guy.14 points

I'm already a few drinks in. Gonna be a painful day starting with that 8am meeting... I know there's been posts here whining about rape culture in prison etc...I don't care if he gets raped or not. Whatever hell awaits this POS, I'm celebrating it. And fuck those defending him...even if that defense was veiled nicely in this thread. There's some real POS around here, and that's coming from a Sooner. Takes one to know one. But back to the original point, those of you feeling the need to carry this asshole's water, here's a hearty FUCK YOU.12 points

I'm happy with the verdict but sad that the whole event occurred. We should have never known the names George Floyd and Derek Chauvin.12 points

That I'm glad to have been born in a age of technology that allows these shameful acts - that our community has been talking about for centuries - be seen on full display. My parents and grandparents didn't have this benefit. I can also be proud of my service and the sacrifices my family made because of it. Jan 6 was a much different feeling.11 points

Ewers helps with Hudson and (imo but some here don't share it, which is fine) with Stewart, and maybe in general in the loaded in-state class. So he'd arguably help with getting good talent into the program sooner. However, he's close enough behind Card in terms of classification to where he probably transfers if he's not starting by year two considering every 5* QB does that if he's not starting by year two nowadays The extra year of separation between Arch and Card makes that a more natural succession to me, and Arch would obviously also help in recruiting, albeit a year later, and probably more out of state than in-state since the in-state class is supposed to be weaker Can't go wrong with either though, imo10 points

That first one, “Every Police Officer in America Should Quit,” I mean... Yeah. Now, we feel that way for very different reasons but I can get on board with that.9 points

Come on man. Eli's vice was mescaline. Come on man. I would agree that what Cruise is doing right now isn't anything great, acting wise, but in his prime the dude had chops. He's not Daniel Day Lewis or Philip Seymor Hoffman, but he can act. He should have won at least 3 Oscars by now (Rain Man, Born of the 4th of July, Magnolia) and was good-to-great in many, many other films: Risky Business The Color of Money A Few Good Men The Firm Interview with the Vampire (fantastic "bad guy" turn - should have done this more) Jerry Maguire Eyes Wide Shut Vanilla Sky Minority Report Collateral (see Interview with the Vampire) Tropic Thunder (!!) Again, I know opinions vary, but Tom Cruise is about 50 rungs on the acting scale above someone like Mark fucking Wahlberg.9 points

I know I’ve discussed it before, but I can’t help myself. When SLX took Roach and Holland to dinner, he had a few key takeaways in the aftermath: -He gave them any option they wanted for a dining experience and said he’d pay for it. They chose either Applebee’s or TGIF. -Upon arrival, Roach proceeded to order every appetizer item. He eventually also ate an entree. -Holland could barely tolerate being in a “citizen poster’s” presence. He stated throughout the meal that most UT college football fans on the Internet were complete idiots and beneath his intellect. -Holland eventually confessed that he was only passing time dealing with Internet sports idiots so he could get his serious career as a novelist going. -Roach eventually confessed that he wished he’d ordered more so he could have had something to eat on the drive home. SLX said it was one of the more bizarre $9.95er experiences he’d encountered and this is a guy that was friends with Jerry Scarborough and, when in Austin, would meet Ketchum regularly for a drink.9 points

so, re: Greg Brown, we went from, "my son (GB III) will never set foot on campus at Texas if Shaka Smart is not the HC" to "The source said there was no chance Brown would've returned to Texas if there hadn't been a coaching change following Shaka Smart's decision to leave after six seasons as coach of the Longhorns to take over at Marquette." "Not a chance," the source said." in one season. by god Woodrow, if that doesn't sum up the Shaka Smart experience then nothing does.8 points

You’re a good poster, but the Strong part is just wrong. That guy was a fucking dumbass and in over his head from day one. He failed on every front and more help wasn’t going to solve it. Like any bad management hire, simply surrounding him with more resources and people would have only created a costlier mistake.8 points

TX GQP refuses to expand Medicaid and refuses federal funding. Feds use a waiver to reimburse TX Govt anyway for uninsured patients going to emergency rooms. Trump is incredibly lazy and deluded about the election, so he didn't extend the waiver until right before leaving office. Biden admin realizes it's stupid to reimburse exorbitant emergency costs only and that the federal government is perversely rewarding the Texas Government for being obstinate dicks who refuse to join the 21st century and recognize access to medical care as a fundamental human right. Biden admin stops enabling TX GQP and rescinds extension of the waiver. Cornyn is butthurt, so now he's blocking Biden's nominee to oversee Medicaid, fucking it up for the whole country. The TX GQP is going to grandstand, but do nothing to get increase access to healthcare for Texans.7 points
