  4. No wonder this country is going down the tubes. Everyone’s main takeaway is to bitch about the presentation style of the speaker and not discussing the actual important substance of his testimony. If real life isn’t as interesting as episode of “Better Call Saul”, we can’t be bothered. We are going to get the idiotic malevolent country we deserve.

  5. This political jousting with our energy security is exhausting, pointless, and dangerous. We need both. We need both to work well. We need both to be reliable. We need to be open to maximizing the efficiencies of both. We need to work on minimizing the environmental impact of both. Both. Not one or the other. This isn't a winner take all cage match. For energy security and stability, we need both.

  10. My wife, of whom I have no photographs, just told me that she heard a report that Russia has lost 54 colonels in Ukraine, then asked me how many more before Ukraine can claim a whole cob. Some punster, that woman.

  12. If this shit doesn’t result in legal action against Trump, it’s no more effective than Trump’s effort to overturn the election. Squawking about how fucked up it all was is fine, but if it doesn’t result in consequences for Trump then it doesn’t mean anything, because it’s not like a single magafuck is going to giveafuck about it.

  15. Have it on good authority that we hit plenty of balls out of the yard today during BP. ND didn’t hit one. Take away fluky bombs and there aren’t many teams who can say they’ve touched Pete up. We are built for Omaha bitches

  16. Who the fuck is calling him a hero? All i've seen is a modicum of appreciation that he appears to have had a line he refused to cross that saved us from civil war. Same with Pence, he did the right thing in a particular moment in time and is still a repressed piece of fuck.

  25. Horns Down is dumb. Being offended by Horns Down is also dumb. But showing Horns Down when you're on a national stage instead of celebrating your own school by flashing its traditional handsign is mindnumbingly stupid. Classic case of aggy hating Texas more than it loves itself.

  30. _______________________ are understaffed, and now they are supposed to take care of addicts. Insert: Cops, Teachers, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, Nurses, Social Workers, Public Defenders, et al. Every one of those things are understaffed and all have myriad (often overlapping) problems that they have to deal with WELL outside their intended purviews. It's almost like we don't have enough public funding for adequate staff for any of these positions, nor do we have social programs adequate to deal with half this shit because they've all been cut and removed. I've gotta be honest. Librarians are pretty fucking low on my list of folks being infringed upon and being given more responsibility than their initial purview, because this is the first time they've had to deal with shit. Teachers are now Teachers, Parents, Bodyguards/Security Officers, etc. Cops are now Cops, Social Workers, and living in a corrupt system. Need I go on? Shit, Librarians haven't really been shat upon at all. I guess it's their turn. If she's not comfortable, she can let them die, or she can flee the profession to find better pay and less thankless jobs like a host of <checks notes> career Teachers, Cops, Fire Fighters, Paramedics, Nurses, Social Workers, etc.
