I'm still trying to wrap my head around someone calling a Tucker Carlson monologue brilliant. I mean holy shit.21 points

Equating Sorosβs influence on the American electorate to Rupert Murdochβs is probably the dumbest thing youβve ever posted.21 points

I think you misunderstand. Tucker Carlson lies to old people, equivocates about terrorism, and praises our foreign adversaries for money.21 points

It's a good thing because the non-right-wing media tends to deal in facts, not mythology. The same cannot be said for FOX News, OAN, etc. I know you'll howl at the concept, but it's true. In fact, I'll go one step farther: the center and left American demographic is less gullilble, more astute, and frankly more intelligent than the right. We see it proven over and over again. Sorry you hitched your wagon to a bunch of fascists who exploit your low IQ.14 points

Yep. I had to grab an Uber after school last week and the driver was the dad of some of my former students. He and his wife moved here from Nigeria, settled in Austin, and had three kids. One is currently in grad school at Princeton, one is getting her MBA at UT, and the oldest "has a great job at Dell. He tries to explain it to me, but I don't understand it at all" (dad's words). I tell that story to (1) brag on some former students and (2) say, "Fuck Tucker Carlson and anyone inspired by him".11 points

If you explore the way they rank the team's working the portal, they're only accounting for in-flow. I guess the point of view from folks dismissing the overall roster attrition are fine with that, but CU has lost multiple players that they'd prefer to have kept at this point. Not many, but it's at least 4, 1 of whom came to CU with Sanders. As of now, the count looks like: 62 players returning - 51 exits + 29 transfers - 1transfer in transferring out + 19 recruits = 58 players to be on the roster for 2023. That's like Miami from the mid-90's low. They're going to need to add a bunch of guys and, irrespective of what Deion or people in the media carrying water for him say, there's not a ton of top tier talent from the portal to add unless there's a big run over the next few days for guys to get in the motherfucker. Never mind any further attrition in the next few days or over the course of the summer. As of now, the roster can only have a theoretical 7 of 22 starting positions with a 4 or 5 star starter manning the position. At CB, they will be able to cover people like a motherfucker with McClain and Hunter. They have 2 4 star WR transfers from USF and a 4 star WR recruit. 1 4 star TE. 1 4 star TB. At WR, the 4 star transfers were outclassed by Lemonius-Craig and Hunter, so not sure how terrific they're going to be. In short, those "200+ 4 and 5 star recruits and P5 starters" are going to need to start showing up reaaaalll quicklike. Otherwise, this dude is about to be starting a bunch of guys that couldn't hack it at other schools after having decent high school grades, true freshmen, Hunter, Sanders and McClain, and a bunch of other dudes that he would have cut if they were on the roster when he showed up. The more I look at what is happening, the more entertaining this is getting.10 points

So he dismisses Colorado's 1990 championship as being virtually the same as aggy's 1939 championship because it is too far away, and then proceeds to talk about their (NCAA infraction fueled) 1992 and 1994 seasons?10 points

Now tell us how you feel about the mass genocide taking place in Ukraine and whether or not you think Russia is winning that war. I guess you can throw in how you feel about the fact that Tucker Carlson is often quoted and revered by Russian state TV and Russian propaganda? And the fact that White Nationalists watch Tucker Carlson to figure out how to frame their viewpoints, because he does it for them. https://www.vox.com/videos/2017/7/21/16008190/strikethrough-white-supremacists-love-tucker-carlson10 points

These numbers are BAD... And they are the sanitized numbers provided by the FSB to show the best-case scenario. Once they people start digging into them, they are going to really highlight how bad the economic state of Russia really is. Most likely the true money crunch won't really be felt until the Fall or Winter, but with how much the everyday Russian is supported by the central government, at some point there will be a major degradation in goods and services. The problem with this simplified view is that payment of troops and other internal services is "easily" fixed by just printing more rubles. Without an external trade mechanism to punish the inflationary measure of flooding Russia with more rubles, there is no real short-term impact from a lack of revenue generation. Where this becomes a disaster is China is about to feast on any and all exports and when the war is over there most likely will be a huge inflationary spike that will crush the everyday Russian. So we are now looking at the slow degradation of goods entering the market itself and those hardships wont really become impactful until the weather turns cold and there isnt enough food or heat. Where this gets curious is if they flood the market with Rubles internally, the value of the closeted funds by the various Oligarchs (which are in essence locked on the international stage but can be borrowed against in a secondary manner) is going to plunge. So while they can print rubles to pay everyone, it makes the ruling class that much poorer and even the blackmarket exchange of Rubles is going to crater.10 points
