What an absolutely incredible season and job by Sarkisian. He proved me wrong in every manner and exceeded my every expectation for this program under his leadership. kudos to him for what he has accomplished.33 points

Why would anyone be despondent? That was an incredible season. The future looks extremely bright.32 points

Lulz. (Edit: Saw this tweet, adding it - not implying this is related to Tenn backing off, and not laughing or making light of this.)27 points

Hilarious. This is the coach Alabama fans have wanted to fire for 3 years straight. Their WR room has gone to complete shit under Wiggins.25 points

The ref on our sideline was fucking blind and not capable of properly spotting a ball correctly. However, there was not a single penalty that Texas got that I disagreed with. They were all pretty obvious. That said, on Washington’s last scoring drive for the FG, on first down, after losing two yards, they picked up a flag on what should have been a late hit unsportsmanlike for absolutely no fucking reason whatsoever. The guy absolutely decked Watts from behind after the play was over. It should have been 2nd and 27 up by 6. That was an absolute fuckjob and I’d really like to know what their justification for picking that flag up was.25 points

Bummed? Sure. Disappointed? You bet. But we just got straight up beat by a QB who had an all-time performance. No one position group went out and absolutely shit the bed, the players looked like they wanted to be there, I wasn’t absolutely gobsmacked by the lack of performance like I have been in the past with previous head coaches. The team never rolled over. Sometimes teams just get beat. They didn’t play their best, but they definitely didn’t play their worst. And Washington, outside of Penix and the receivers, didn’t play a complete game, either. Tip of the cap to Washington, blow off some steam, hit the recruiting trail, and back at it in the spring. Excited for next year.24 points

Strongly disagree. We were obviously the better team in the 2001 game and gift wrapped it for Colorado by repeatedly tripping over our own dicks. Last night, we lost to a great team with an unbelievable quarterback. Does it hurt and suck that we didn't get that last score? Yes. Would it have been awesome to play for it all in Houston? Yes. But frankly, Washington outplayed us for the large majority of the game and deserved to win. Misery is not something I will ever associate with last night's game - that is reserved for 2001 Colorado, Colt getting hurt against Bama, etc.24 points

Y’all responding in agreement to this are making me think I’m crazy. This seems like bait from a texags user fantasizing about past Texas failures. Texas went 12-2 and won the Big 12 going away (literally and figuratively). First Texas team to win any hardware in 14 years. Qualified for the CFP and was a top four team any way you slice it. Will probably finish top 3 in the AP poll. Put up a 10 point road win against Nick Saban’s SEC champion Alabama. That is what this group will be remembered for, not what could have been. They lost a national semifinal game as a 4 point favorite, where a lot of people (accurately as it turns out) outside of Texas fans/media thought the wrong team was favored. Oh well. This is nothing like 2001 Colorado. Good lord. If 01 Texas had beaten Colorado again and got wrecked by an all time Miami team, would re remember that as a failure or tip the cap and be proud of the conference championship? Honestly purely on the morning after scale last night is not even the most frustrating loss this year. OU was way harder to swallow.22 points

I don't remember. My official policy is this, whatever I do when I am blackout drunk is absolutely none of my business.21 points

Convenient to attribute the good things that happened to the "football gods" but then blame Sark and QE for coming up short at the end. Texas was outplayed last night and had a very fortunate set of events occur along with some great plays to have a chance at the end. It took a damn good/borderline PI play by the DB to keep that pass out of Mitchell's hands. The other team has a say in the end result and the better team last night won. This game isn't close to the pain of '01 Colorado/'08 Tech/'10 Bama. Those are games we should have won and didn't. This is one that we could have won and didn't Huge difference. Don't wallow in what could have happened.21 points

Tough way to lose but honestly it would kind of have been some bullshit to win because of an extremely unfortunately timed injury to the Washington RB. I hope he is okay and good luck to them in the final. They played a great game and Texas didn’t really have an answer for their passing game. The goal line fade is the football version of the iso contested mid range jumper. I hate it and I don’t care if it worked the one time. If anything that’s a reason to go away from it later on. Just a really disappointing game planning and play calling display from Sark tonight. I think DeBoer thoroughly outcoached him. Despite all that the bottom line is Texas fumbled the ball away twice, including one deep in UW territory, in a one score game. The team that made fewer mental mistakes and took better care of the ball was always going to win this game and that was Washington. They were just the better team. Still a great year, proud of the team, and will remember them fondly for a long time. Not buying into the meltdown stuff. Enjoy the season and the team for what it is.18 points

I’m so glad it went so well for a lot of people. It was rough until about 11-1130 when shit really got rolling smooth. We wanted it to be the best part of people’s weekend being with fellow horns. There are a few things we definitely could have done better but the core of the event was unbeatable. I think we absolutely nailed what the “every fan” experience is and was looking for. The feedback from those involved behind the scenes in very important posts is extremely favorable right now. the next week or so will be figuring out how to transition out of being the only person doing this into having a team that executes on something I can provide vision and guidance on. Very special thanks to @BobbyB who had an outstanding amount of programming on air all day and then handing it off to Erin Hogan at the horn. Something special is brewing and it’s all because of this community you should all feel an incredible sense of pride for being the best fans any team could ask for. Hook ‘Em17 points

I can't say anything that hasn't already been said, but...., I'm damned proud of what Sark has done, what the team accomplished, and can't wait for next year. Longhorn football is fun again. It's been awhile. Hook 'em!17 points

I didnt post anything about his politics. The guy is pure bad luck dude. The fact that he isnt from Texas and went to Harvard and does nothing but badmouth our school while pretending to support the football team isnt about politics. It's me observing a bad luck shithead being a bad luck shithead. Just keep scrolling like i said or report the post but nobody wants to hear your ass whining and you arent a mod.16 points

I woke up early this morning despite being exhausted from that ending (that's what she said). For a second, I thought I should start making plans for Houston next week. I guess I dreamt we made that comeback after all. A really good Huskies team played one of its best games of the year and despite playing one of our lesser games, we still almost pulled it off. We're not Aggies, there are no moral victories to be had here. But in no universe did I have this 3rd year Sarkisian team making the CFP. I'm already excited for the Spring Game and the 2024 season. Y'all sleeping one off in the Big Easy right now, safe travels home. Crowd looked/sounded great for the most part. God watch over all travelers and those injured last night. Let's get back to work and fuck some shit up.16 points

Well, it was a fun year in a lot of ways and now it’s over and we lost and everything is awful and terrible and there’s 9 full months until we play another game. I expect the 2024 team to be more talented than the 23 team provided we get a top notch WR, TE and Safety in the portal. I’m not sure about the coaching staff on the headsets yet, but I am incredibly confident in Sark the talent acquisition guy and program builder. Thanks for coming along on the ride all year, next year should absolutely be fun with trip to Ann Arbor along with year 1 of the SEC.14 points

Congrats to the 2023 Texas Longhorns for an AMAZING Season. Thank you, Quinn Ewers for being an incredible leader. You carried this team. You gave us the lead vs OU in the last minute. In last night's game, where you were under terrific pressure throughout the game, and you never gave up and gave us a chance to win at the end. Was it your best game? No. Did you do your part to put us in a position to win? Absolutely. Screw all of you who continually doubt him. To all of the quarterback whisperers who think Arch will start over Quinn, remember when you said that about Maalik? Players don't just come in and star. It takes years. Penix is in his 6th year. 6 years! Quinn is our best QB since Colt and I sure hope he comes back next year. I've had the honor of spending two afternoons with him on shoots and gotten to know him. He is a fantastic young man. He's smart, funny, friendly, and humble. And this brings me to @shadow_operative. You don't know our players or our fans. You lurk here, and then spew out your bile. When people call you out on it, you then try to gaslight us and claim that wasn't what you wrote. (FUN TIP: You know it's kinda easy for us to check what you posted, right? We just have to look at it.) Next, like clockwork, you change the narrative to be all about how you are persecuted by us. Finally, you roll out your nuclear option, where you list your various mental and health issues, which you use to control criticism of you. It never changes. This is a new year and new chance for you to contribute in a meaningful way here. And if you can't do that, at least be funny, or entertaining. In other words, find a way to make people want to look forward to your posts. It's really not that hard. Hook 'em!14 points

Damn, I know this is Surly — but how is anyone mad/upset? I went to school in the Charlie years... The Longhorns fought and came within 1 second and 12 yards of playing for the Title. 1 less fuck up/fumble/lucky bounce, and we may have won… They won 12 games and a Big 12 championship on their way out. They are all Longhorn Legends in my book (especially J Whitt), and have made me proud to call myself a Texas alum. Hook ‘em!14 points

I was frustrated with how we approached the first half and the fumbles in the second. I was proud of the way the team found away to come within 13 yards of winning it, despite the setbacks. I quickly remember that we won the conference and met most of my expectations for the season. The program is in a good place and there’s more talent on the way. Now I hope we keep Baxter/Blue and some DL around.13 points

The "script" IS a flow chart. It isn't "run this place first, run this play second, run this play third, run this play fourth" it is a set of plays for down and distance. The script thing is so overblown.13 points

First let's talk about the game- Here's the deal. Sometimes the other guys are really good and they can make plays as well. Penix was making great throws, and to be honest our coverage was tight most of the time early, but the receivers were making fantastic catches! Hell if you look at our players offensively the stats are good individually but not cumulatively. Running Blue 6.6 ypc, Baxter 7.1 ypc, passing Sanders 12.5, Whittington 17.5, Worthy 22.5, Blue 11.3 with Baxter 19.5 yard per catch. The anomaly is Mitchell at 5 ypc. But Ewers completes only 55% of his passes. The complete ones were solid, the running game was solid, what was weak was completion percentage and fumbling the ball away. Even then you have to remember that one of Washington's TD's was a tip, And one 3rd down completion was a tip that took heat off a ball that would would have been overthrown. We also got lucky with the early muff. But let's talk about Sark. Bottom line is we nearly won a game with our QB only completing 55% of his passes against an undefeated #2 team in the country. The fact we came back at the end was a testament to the type of mentality this team has developed! The most difficult thing for a head coach to do is build a culture. At first coaches have to come in and be not only the coach, but the head disciplinarian and head motivator. And it's never, ever, ever successful... at least at first. Winning coaches develop a culture within the team where team leaders are the motivators, and largely take over the role of disciplinarian of the players producing accountability to the team and each other. THIS is the secret sauce to success over time. Sark has added this secret sauce to our team and now we are in a good position moving forward from an accountability and team unity perspective. And that my friends is light years from where we were, at 5-7 with us finding a way to lose and players not looking past the tips of their own noses in many cases. Today we have a solid two deep at every position like we have not seen in decades. OF course there are some holes to fill, but it's been a long time since we had backups of a high enough quality level to step up and step right in. Sark has in essence rebuilt the program. In his own image no less. I think that one of the things that I like most about Sark is his relationship with the players. You hear time and again how he genuinely takes an interest in their lives beyond football, and that's how he spends most of his time interacting with players on an individual basis. His past very public missteps also make hime more relatable to kids. As opposed to the dishonest "just be perfect" mindset so many coaches project, despite the reality. I think this makes Sark approachable and makes players and equally as importantly a player's parents comfortable with him. This has allowed him to kick ass high school recruiting. The other thing I LOVE about Sark is he realizes that continuity is so very, very important in maintaining a culture. He has been very selective in bringing in portal players, because he understands how one or two very talented bad apples can start a rot in the whole barrel. This is perhaps the most overlooked quality that I think Sark possesses. We had disappointment last night. But Sark has earned his money and we are in a very good spot going into the SEC in 2024. Imagine what might have been with 58% completions and only one fumble... If you are not happy with Sark you are a fucking moron.12 points
-
The Brooks PI probably saved a long completion and the drive resulted in a punt. No harm in taking the 15 yards to prevent a 50 yard completion in the college game.12 points

In a close game, bonus yards on spots, two different rulebook officiating absolutely matters and influences the game. At the end, it is a DPI that gets called and puts us at the goal line and we waltz in for the score and the win. The earlier DPI gets their DBs to back off a little. The holding makes Penix seem untouchable and negates the entire defensive lines ability to get pressure advantage we had and it wears down the defense faster than otherwise. It gave him a whole lot of time to make his throws which is easier for a 6th year QB than it is for a 2nd year QB who was given significantly less time. Heck the officials allowed Penix to throw the ball past the LOS, ignored illegal procedure and an ineligible lineman downfield on passing plays. That absolutely matters. Sark being cute and forgetting to run the ball was a huge mistake. The offensive line performance was meh and Jones regressed. The ball security was another absurd mistake and having Kelian Robinson returning was just unconscionable. Put Arch Manning back there would have been a better decision. In spite of the coaching absurdity and mistakes by the players, in the end, another non-call seals the game. That absolutely points out how much the referee fuckery impacted the game. BTW the hit on Ewers wasn't reviewed for targeting. It was the same type of hit that got our player ejected from the b12 title game. Different crews, but same shit.12 points

Hell of a season. Not the ending we all wanted but if someone had told me we'd be 12-1 and in the CFP in three years after that ass whipping we took in Fayetteville in Sark's first year I would've laughed in their face. I'm happy with where Texas Football is at and that's the first time I've been able to say that in almost 15 years. Props to Washington and Penix. Incredible performance by them. The challenge never seemed too big for them. I'd like to see them win it all. Fuck the Michigan cheaters.12 points

Texas beat themselves. Turnovers and "penalties " . To be 1 play away from national title game is a great season. Won the big 12 title. Got alot of momentum going into 2024. Alot to be proud of .12 points
