  1. Holy crap what an improvement. We got to our seats at 6:30 and I don't remember seeing an ad till the end of the first quarter Band actually played during breaks. only 1 dude in the stands with a mic, and the mic didn't work so we didn't have to listen to him. during commercial breaks there was a count down clock in the bottom right of the godzillatron to let you know how much time is left in the break. godzillatron was not surrounded by ads. screen on the right, stats and info on left, two small ads on the bottom of the left section. Replays were from multiple angles, not just the shitty angle from some cameraman standing outside the endzone. Only remember a couple of ads. Colt's ad for the cookies and a pluckers ad about the 5 free wing coupons. All the other "ads" were highlights with a logo in the corner or whataburger giving some kids a check. This is by far the best improvement. No longer felt like i was being completely whored out or at a nba or minor league baseball game, it actually felt like a college football game for a change. Now we just need Tom to pull his head out of his ass. If last night wasn't an improvement over last year I was planning on not renewing my season tickets for next year, but now the product on the field may prevent me from doing so.

  2. I'll predict Tom Herman's excuses. Maryland- "we want to win so badly that we lost" Tulsa- "we are not having enough fun" USC- "we practice so hard that we are tired in games" TCU- "this team is so close to each other that we trust each other too much and forget to communicate" K-State- "winning is so hard" ou- "our coaches game planned so hard that the players were tense" Baylor- "our players are so excited to play, they get nervous" OSU- "our players study so hard that their brains are tired during games" WVU- "i coached the players so much that they forgot basic fundamentals" Tech- "our players ate so much thanksgiving turkey to gain muscle that they were fatigued during the game" ISU- "it's been 10 weeks since the team read Of mice and men, so they forgot how to win" KU- "This is a very good football team"

  3. My whole family used to be addicted to Zoo Tycoon. This was back in the early part of the millennium, when games came on CD-ROMs. Anyway, we'd build a great zoo, everyone loved it, the game was going great... so we'd block off the entrance, remove all the bathrooms and restaurants, and turn the animals loose to eat all the guests. The guest approval rating, even when they were being murdered like that, never dropped below 34%. There will always be people who are satisfied with the status quo, no matter what.

  4. Until we find a coach worth a damn, let’s just throw celebrity coaches out there to lead the team. matthew mcconaughey can coach against USC, maybe Owen Wilson can coach against TCU and how about Riley Reid coaching us in the red river shootout because she already has experience being butt fucked

  5. oh yeah, forgot about the student sections. They were packed before the game, such a huge change. Also before the team came out they put smoke in the tunnel, and bevo led the team out.

  6. Fire protection. Police protection. Local road construction and maintenance. Interstate highway construction and maintenance. Airport operation, air traffic control, airline safety regulations. Port construction, maintenance, and operations. Public schools educating you and/or your fellow citizens (so that they are more likely to 1) contribute to the economy and 2) stay out of jail). Courts to enforce your contracts and make you whole if someone injures you. Criminal justice system ensuring that bad people who could harm you or your property are sent to prison. Prisons. Military to guard against foreign threats. Treated, safe drinking water (see how we flip out when this fails -- Flint) Sewage removal and treatment (seriously, sewage and water service are perhaps the greatest improvements to human health and increased life span in our entire history, and both are almost exclusively the product of government activity). We could keep going. But why, it won't matter to the stupid and narrowminded. I am sitting at my kitchen table working. Virtually everything around me has the mark of government assistance/enabling on it. The wood and my table were shipped on the interstate highway system, helping to keep my costs low. The varnish is not toxic -- thanks to both the tort system and safety regulations. The light fixture traveled the same way, but it's foreign-made, so add a port in there. The electricity is via a grid that was originally made possible by government subsidies and systems. My computer is a Dell, and its supply chain used every element I mentioned -- land, sea, and air. The network over which I am sending these thoughts was born in part due to government action. My contracts with everyone involved in everything I have are enforceable via a public court system. I am educated enough to type this because I was educated at a university that was at least partially publicly funded. If the rain picks back up and I'm stranded by a flood, it's likely that government agents will help rescue me. If after a month, we get no more rain, and the greenbelt next to my house goes up in flames, government firefighters, possibly including federal air assets, will work to put it out. If this logic so enrages Chrispy that he shows up here and punches me in the face, the government police, courts, and prisons will ensure that he won't be free to do it again. But then again, how could he even have gotten to my house without driving here on publicly built and maintained roads? Using gas that was shipped via pipelines that were able to be built because the government gave them the right as common carriers to condemn private property on the planned route, of course. The "GIT GUBMINT OUTTA MY LIFE!" cry is one of the stupidest battle calls in a nation that seems to be addicted to stupid battle calls these days. How about this -- you get to keep ALL of your tax dollars. In return, you get to use/receive the benefit of ZERO public infrastructure, courts, education, protection, etc. etc. No more produce from out of town. No more cars shipped by boat or truck. No more cops. No more fire department. No more water treatment. No more sewer service. Live on a fucking island, with no collective influence or control (that's called "government," by the way) over any of those things. You'll be dead in a month, probably less. The more I think about it, I INSIST that you take this deal. I would hate for you to have to compromise your principles. Also, I would hate for morons like you to live till election day. Your principles are too important, right? Live them. It's what a man of integrity would do.

  8. Anyone else not give a shit anymore? Went out and enjoyed my Saturday kayaking and hiking/exploring. Didn’t even think about the game until we were on our way home tonight. Asked my wife to google the final for me. I just laughed. Who cares? We suck ass, can’t say I was surprised by the result. Can’t wait to enjoy my Saturdays this fall. It’s been a decade since we’ve been relavent and it might be another before we are again. I won’t be holding my breath nor watching games anymore. Fuck this program.

  9. I have a lot of family exactly like this. They have a comfortable life. They figure everyone else who is not enjoying a comfortable life is not trying, is lazy or whatever. But in their defense, getting your own was drilled into a lot of baby boomers by the golden generation. I am talking white, mainly. So in their minds they did it right and don't understand there are other sides to the story. They don't consider themselves racists. They consider themselves as people who worked hard to get ahead. All the others of different races that didn't do that, well, they are just too lazy or were brought up wrong. You mention white entitlement, then you get affirmative action and welfare queens tossed back at you. They are dug in hard, and are in dread of losing what they worked so hard for. That the government is going to take all their stuff and redistribute it. They refuse to see that they are already doing that, just upward, not downward. But like BTR said, they are too busy living the American dream to slow down and really open their eyes. Lot of them are too busy making payments on things they really don't need.

  14. You got banned because you are an undermedicated loon who spewed your volcanic shit everywhere. You are like a houseguest who leaves laundry everywhere, grabs the remote, interrupts/injects into every conversation demanding attention, and won't shut up for just five seconds. There are a lot of assholes at this place, but only two complete loons. The difference in them is that this place is not good for Derka, whereas you are not good for this place.

  17. The risk of losing Herman to aggy or LSU is what put us in this hole. We gambled that he would be the answer because we were afraid to see that played out at a school in close proximity. We gambled yet again and lost. Because we're pretty much Tennessee now.

  19. Neither. If no one who isn't a compulsive liar is willing to speak on behalf of the administration, then their "take" on things shouldn't be on air other than clips demonstrating their lies. They should not get air time to lie to the American people. If they want to be on serious news programs their spokespeople need to get somewhere near the vicinity of the truth.

  21. People who say preseason polls don’t mean anything are on crack. Clemson looked like shit last night. Their secondary is atrocious. However, at this point they don’t play a ranked team the rest of the season so a shitty showing in week #2 against unranked A&M is all they had to get past to coast to the playoffs. If they didn’t start at #2 they would be more correctly ranked around #15 based on performance and would have trouble getting in because their resume will end up sucking.

  24. Ya know, this whole “another OC won’t fix this” is total and complete utter bull shit. Good coaching f’ing matters. Having a feel for personnel, game flow, what opponents are doing and situational playcalling matters. And watching this staff operate is an object lesson in why it matters. Sterlin Gilbert shows up after a two year unmitigated disaster on offense and suddenly we play passable ball on O. Todd Orlando shows up after the two worst defensive years in school history and promptly lays down the best defense in conference and one that was relevant nationally. Herb Hand shows up after last year’s BS fest under Warehime and suddenly we can pass block and even run block decently. Good coaching makes a difference right the hell now no matter what your talent level is because it’s not just Jimmy’s and Joe’s OR X’s and O’s. It’s BOTH. Great players make any coach look good, but only 5-8 programs have great players littering the field, so it’s the coaches’ job to make all their players look good. Tom Herman picked his hill to die on the minute he hired his B team offensive staff. And like a true stubborn, arrogant asshole he’s gonna kill his career there rather than admit his mistake. He’ll come out $28M ahead, but he will never again be the head coach of a school that could compete for MNC’s. The real pisser in all this is that we don’t need a new system and install. The offense we have works fine. It just kicked KSU’s ass and is lighting things up in Columbus. Oh, btw, OSU is another example of why good coaching makes a difference right the hell now. Anyway, we just need a competent OC so that Herman can be this great CEO coach that he seems to think that he is instead of this below average OC with substandard help in the booth and in his ear that he is now.

  25. I just took a massive rank shit, fueled by buffalo wings, jalapeno bacon wraps, and bourbon. My wife came in, gagged, and turned on the exhaust fans in our bathroom. She asks me "Jesus what died?" I told her I just took a Tom Herman.

  27. We offer Dabo Swinney 10 years and $90 million. And we say something like: "Saban and Urban have titles at multiple schools. You resurrect this sleeping giant, like Saban did with Alabama, and win two or three titles here, and you're in the discussion for greatest coach of all time. And you're about $25 million richer than if you'd stayed at Clemson." And if he says "no", up the offer to $100 million. It ain't as if we don't have the fucking money.

  28. About people saying Obama should stay away: It would be one thing if Trump wasn’t attacking Obama on Twitter and rallies every week. Most presidents don’t repeatedly insult their predecessors. Obama should absolutely stand up to the bully and hit back.

  29. So.... I haven't watched up to the meltdown, so my opinion can change, but.... Ingram is real. Watson is good enough. Beck is going to help. He puts a body on people. LJH is good. Sam has to process a little faster on the RPO OL is good enough to win. I don't know what is holding back CJ. Hager is a one trick pony. Good offenses are going to make him pay. Omenihu is a non-factor Roach is good, just too big for LB. Nelson is fine. Johnson's feet are faster than he processes/diagnoses. The young DBs are promising Locke is not good in coverage. If we can stick with running to set up PA, we'll get better. 8 wins is possible as a stretch. I think we'll be in close games a lot. The sky isn't falling, it's just low.

  35. So did Hitler. Sometimes you're just speaking a shitty message to really shitty people. Nobody is going to break the Trump spell. It's a cult of personality based in impotence, insecurity, and hatred. The key is outvoting the shitty people where it counts, which shouldn't be difficult with non-Hillary candidates.
