  4. Let's do this, Horns! Bthoo Notre Dame, to start. Domers, aggy, Sooners, Pigs... lots of good teams to hate. This is gonna be fun!

  5. 99% of the ECU fans that we ran into were great. I wish their program nothing but success going forward. Regardless, we're going to Omaha bitches!

  7. Given that Pierce has to be fired this year regardless, might as well win the national championship in his last hurrah.

  8. How cool must this be for Skyler? He spends all that time in the armpit of Big XII baseball at Kansas, transfers over and now he's headed to the Mecca of college baseball. He has been a helluva player for us, too! Hook'em, Skyler! Glad you came to Austin.

  9. None of that shit matters now. We are exactly in the same place we would have been if we had gone 54-0. Pete Hansen needs to be his best self against Notre Dame. Let's do this. Finish the year like we started: #1.

  10. Just heard on XM84 that via a FOIA, someone at On3 has revealed that ATM sent a fucking demand letter to the SEC requiring them to suspend Saban, fine Bama and publicly reprimand them after the Saban speech. The SEC promptly ignored them, but what an on-brand, insecure, dickless institution.

  16. There's probably a little bit of funny business still attached to these efforts, but there's also just as likely the kind of banal naivete derived from the processes of simple minds. ATM's methods of locking guys up and having those guys shut everything down has worked in the past, so it will work in the future, right? We'll see. Kids and parents shutting everyone else from getting a chance to pitch means that someone got bought, cash/thumbdrive in hand, on the visit. Tough to overcome, but also a random absurdity that turns a blind eye to the new era. For the most part, ATM can offer a very rich "NIL" premise, early playing time, and the notion that they're a program on the brink of being the next Alabama due to the class stacking. So, yeah, they're winning early in this cycle, but I don't see it as on par with what they did last year. I see it as on par with what we did last year with the OL class. I don't think I'm tilting at windmills. I ignore 50 of the NIL questions that pop up and answer one, and that's usually to help move along the understanding of the landscape, as I know it and as it shifts beneath our feet. So, no, I don't think it's all as reductive as you do, but I don't disagree that that's part of every question. The bottom line is that the only thing that makes anything better for Texas from here is winning on the field. Sarkisian has all of the NIL help he needs, and he knows that. So, if Sarklostagain can put 9+ wins on the board this season while the offense dazzles and the defense appears to occasionally have a clue, things get better. That considered, those things happening and Manning committing to Texas means that things could get a whole lot better, real fast. Meanwhile, sure, I've said it already, ATM's class and the program they're "building" has what I think is a foundation built on sand. Fisher runs a mercenary program and always has. He's like a legitimate fucking villain for the sport, which I think is fun. If they win a bunch of games, things are fine. Switzer did it. Jimmy Johnson did it. If they don't win a bunch of games, the fissures become chasms. Multiple guys that they just signed think that they should be day one starters. There are currently 3 QBs on campus who have each been told that they're going to be starting in 2022. Let's see what happens if Evan Stewart gets no more than 5 targets a game for the first month of the season. Marshall has ... issues and I want to see how interested he winds up being in playing both football and school when he isn't seeing the field for most of the season. I already mentioned that Nolan's crew wants more money. Denver Harris' mom and "stepdad" need to keep getting paid whether Harris is getting much done or not. The Anderson's feel like they got played for not having a hand out. The list is pretty lengthy in terms of all of the mouths that need to be fed from a group of people who have never taken a fucking snap of CFB yet.

  17. So, instead of making drive-by posts and trying to be clever, why don't you explain to us why the 1/6 riot and related shenanigans by what appears to be your orange God are not worthy of public discussion? Because your kind are always whinging elsewhere about no "honest debate" in CR, yet almost none of you come in for anything other than a snarky drive by. Also, it probably bears mentioning that the 1/6 committee is nine people. There are 426 other Representatives and 100 Senators, about 260 of whom are from your team. What, exactly, are they doing about the "Down" and the price of gas? Hmmm?

  23. June 19th, 1950 – Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium – Omaha, Nebraska 72 years ago, during game 9 of the College World Series, Jim Ehler (Texas) pitched the very first No-Hitter in CWS history. It was also the first CWS No-Hitter at famed Rosenblatt Stadium. Texas beat Tufts 7-0. The next day on June 20th, during game 12 of the CWS in the bottom of the third inning, Kal Segrist (Texas 1B) hit the very first Grand Slam in CWS history. It was also the first CWS Grand Slam at Rosenblatt Stadium. Texas beat Washington State 12-1. Texas beat Rutgers in game 14, and then Washington State again in game 15 to win the 1950 College World Series. The final victory gave Texas and legendary Coach Bibb Falk their second College Baseball National Championship, which was the first repeat CWS Champion. So began The University of Texas at Omaha - Founded 1949. 38 trips to Omaha (10+ more than any other team) 24 Top 3 finishes (1st – 6; 2nd – 6; 3rd – 12) 7+ more than any other team and still playing in 2022. Hook em’ Horns.

  25. This was so well known at the time that election night reporters on every major cable channel were saying it would happen, and we'd spent months here posting about it and how the GOP had changed the law in certain states (like Pennsylvania) to make the mirage even bigger so they could claim fraud when it disappeared. It's kind of insane how little any of that seems to have broken through to the public at large.
