This Voodoo Ranger IPA is not messing around. One can down and I'm already ready to go party and hit on random hotties.

It is pretty much all I drink now.

That 9% will kick your ass a few beers in.

Fun Fact.

If you’re in SA, UTSA costco always has the Real Ale IPA sampler for 12.99 for a 12 pack. Don’t carry it in the Stone Oak location. Cant say for the Selma or US90 far west one Costcos.

No better deal in the IPA space for quality.

Costco also carries the voodoo ranger sampler seasonly for something like 27-29 for a case. Solid deal.

That is all.

To hell with that IPA BS. Hoppy, bad-tasting beer. It’s ruined beer.

Also, why the hell is Google wanting to translate Surly from Russian?  Looks like Putin got his nose under the hood somewhere. @immamac better watch his 6.

Maybe this goes in the unpopular opinions thread, but fuck IPAs.
I like beer. I grew up on lagers and Pilsners and kolsch’s and such. Now, I go to a bar, and of their 40 taps, 3 are something OTHER than an IPA, oatmeal stout, or some other shit like that. I just want a goddamned beer. A good one. A cold one. A beer. I have to search the tap menu for five minutes to find their Pacific Crest Trail Summer Smile Happy Time Joy to the World Kumbaya Lager. Fucking hell.

100% agreed. They got popular to brew because apparently they're easy to brew, and can be made with higher alcohol content.

There's starting to be a backlash against them, though, in popular tastes, and not a moment too soon.

Similar thing happened with zinfandels back in the day. But I actually really loved zins. Now it's all Red Blends. But the appeal of the Red Blend is how cheap it is to get a good wine; I saw a fuckin $100 bottle at Costco a couple days ago. For $100, I expect a damn good single variety, not this blended shit.

That's like the folks who drink Johnnie Walker Blue, man. Blends are supposed to be tasty cheap things, not 3 figs a fifth!

Fuckin' A, man.  Fuckin' A.  Right down to the "I really used to love Red Zins, they were my 'cheat code' red wine."

I would get drunker with my parents than I would on my own because (1) they were well off and could afford the good stuff and (2) they knew exactly which ones to get that were the best. Like not just this brand of zin, but this brand's particular years and vineyard because that was the one the mom owned rather than the sons, shit like that. I liked even modest zins, but those were *amazing*.

In their later years, Dad stopped drinking and Mom started insisting on the cheap stuff because she was falling into alcoholism. That... was less fun. Now I can't hardly drink at all; I love the taste, but even one beer, and I basically feel sick the whole next day, like a clockwork orange witnessing a fight.
