What's wrong with you guy in front of me going 25 mph while trying to get on Mopac?

I fucking hate those people.  I understand if you're not in a Ferrari and can't blast it to 75 in a few seconds.  But gottdam, can you please start accelerating to the speed of highway traffic while you're still on the onramp?

Fake Italian to go along with their fake Vietnamese and fake Mexican.

Funny thing is I kind of like the vibe/patio at JoAnn's... I mean, that's a great patio.  Prices?  Suck.  And LOL...

Green pea guac

Queso with soyrizo

...and while its criminal to charge for chips and salsa, $6 for slices of cucumber with tajin?  LOL.

That menu looks like they have to employ 3 managers for the amount of Karens wanting to speak to them.

Probably been mentioned but worth calling out Giovanni's Table in Bee Cave (or on the way to Bee Cave) on 2244 for a great family owned Italian place.

Another Giovanni's is some of the best pizza in town (that's not a restaurant).  Tucked in a corner of the Barton Hills Food Mart on So Lamar.  The chef from the old Mezzaluna downtown. He's been in the food mart for a long time, barely enough room for his ovens and a couple of staff.  But some amazing pizza.

Holy shit, we did a family birthday dinner last week, and the  kid wanted to go to JoAnn's.  Fortunately they were booked, because those prices are nutso.  We ended up at El Meson, which was fine.

Dennis Weaver was such a pussy. If Clint Eastwood or Robert Mitchum had been driving that Plymouth that truck driver woulda been dead before they got 5 miles down the road.

Man, I know there's some hate for the place but stick me at Guero's on the front patio with 3-4 chico tacos al pastor, some chips and queso and a Pacifico and I'm good.  Move me to the oak garden with music and I'm good there, too.

I don't hate Guero's, but they clearly stopped caring about making quality food a long time ago and just bank on location.  And I say good for them.

Yeah, I have a soft spot for Guero's.  I lived within short walking distance when they moved to that spot, and we had been going to the Oltorf location for years before that.  I suppose it's gone downhill, I haven't eaten there much in years, but it's still a cool location and building with a lot of history for me.

Tell me their margs are still good?

Honestly I choose from three items: breakfast tacos, tacos al pastor or ensalada Guero so hard to screw up any of those.  Queso does the trick and the pickled jalapenos are free and plentiful.  Margs are still good and the beer is cold.  I don't eat typical tex-mex (enchiladas, other goop covered cheese bombs) so their menu is perfect for me.

Same, at least for the Anderson location that is closer to me.  Several years ago there could be a line out the door on a Saturday at noon.  Now, not so much.  Even at the fancier "craft" burger level, there's a lot more competition in Austin.

Cypress Grill on William Cannon is pretty good. they make a great sazerac anyway.

I never order that drink because most bartenders make it so poorly, and a bar one is legit terrible.

I’ve never heard of Joann’s. Some kind of clip joint,  I take it? Do scantily clad women sit down at your table and strike up conversation before asking you to buy them some Cucumber Fingers?
