Rockets vs Warriors

LOL.... those last two possessions encapsulate the game thus far.  A low percentage shot on one end and then nobody plays defense on the perimeter vs Gordon allowing him to get to the rim with his strong hand.  Nick Young and Livingston have been awful the last few games..... Both played ole' defense on the last possession.

I said that 2 years ago when everyone was praising Curry when he was hitting those shots. It was unsustainable and bad basketball

So you’re telling me an offense that has a high % of 3PA is high variance? No way.

It lost them 1 title and that 2nd title they had Durant playing well.

Right. How many other teams played for 3 consecutive titles? Hard to argue that it’s bad basketball when it works. And works well enough that the rest of the league has begun to embrace their style of play or something similar

They didn't start this shit until after their first title. It won then 73 games and lost them the finals. Then next year they added a top 3 player and it didn't matter how dumb they played

They took 27 3s per game that year. They took 31 every year since. They did change slightly because they have gone more space and pace but they have taken bad shots since Steph and Klay became the Splash Brothers. And it’s worked

The noticeable difference to me is the depth has gone away and most folks knew it would erode when they had to use all their money on 4 players..... That and curious management decisions around the roster have showed kinks in the armor.  They have one half to try and get their shit together but they need to come out with their hair on fire.

I'm starting to think something s going on with them as a team.   Like either KD/Steph aren't necessarily jiving or Kerr is trying to make sure that he doesnt lose Steph by giving him exclusive possessions.   Some of the TO conversations they have shown by Kerr during this post season has me thinking its the latter.

They are playing more like the first yr that Wade and LBJ got together.  Which is strange considering they had a system in place before they got KD and this is the 2nd yr they are together.

A three is not a bad shot, the contested deep threes early in the shot clock are bad. The 1st championship the warriors were more about defense than offense

They were but they were also about moving the ball until they got open threes.   They are not moving the ball nearly as much as they used to.

You think the other warriors teams weren’t also about great defense? They’ve been a top 5 defense for 4 straight seasons. They have always taken bad shots since Steph and Klay became Steph and Klay. If you didn’t watch them then ok but those same shots have always been there. Steph took those shots in college for fucks sake

The too, Bogut was a very underrated part of that

Having a true rim defender helped, but their best lineup was always small ball, even in those Finals with Harrison Barnes playing the KD role.  Again, it's those bench guys aren't as good as they were in that stretch.  Livingston isn't as good.  No Bogut.  No Fezeli.  No Barbosa.  No Speights.  I like Bell L-T but he's a rookie.  Oh, and Draymond is getting retarded offensively.

Bell just missed a open dunk...... Jesus.
