Jimbo 2019: The Only Tail Getting Busted is Candi's

Recommended Posts

Who were they going to take last year at LB? There wasn’t anyone available. Most had already signed, especially the ones with their hands out. Jimbo spent most of his recruiting fund on QB James Foster and OL friend Tank to close out the year.

They also took 5 RBs last year because right now their depth consists of Traveyon Williams and a walk on.

The best part is Aggy thinks they’re not in a rebuild and Sumlin didn’t run that ship into the ground. Just a few depth problems. Not too bad. National Championsip in 2019 or 2020

Yeah, they don't have anything at RB after Williams. They had to do something to try and fix that problem. Jimbo decided to play the numbers game because they couldn't land an elite RB. Once the pecking order is established out of that group of RBs Jimbo will push a couple out the door or force somebody like Vernon Jackson to move to DE/LB.

The issue at LB is they are screwed next year unless they land Nakobe Dean or start going after a couple JUCO. All the LB commits are project types.

If Dodson has a good year and they lose Alaka/Dodson their LB situation could even be worse next year. Not from a depth perspective simply because they would have more bodies with the FR class. But it would be a far worse LB unit without Alaka and Dodson.

Message for Daddy98, Jimbo is no rocket surgeon.  He is a hillbilly from West Virginia that rode Bobby Bowden's dick from HCIW to HC and then ran Bobby's respected "up from the ashes" Florida Normal teacher's college program into the 5-6 Tallahassee ground.  He is a 1990's offensive genius, he don't need no stinkin' linebackers.  Let Elko figure that out.

If you count cheating and getting the best players in the country as part of running a program, he's the best in the country.

lol

It's going to be interesting to watch how aggys respond to Jimbo's coaching style. My understanding is he's really risk averse (similar to Strong).

Take this for example.

LOL

How do you get the least out of an offense of future NFL players? Take forever to run plays and give away the precious possessions you have, thereby killing their confidence in the process

Is it the same coach who called Saban the most overrated coach as well?  Anonymous must be a really good coach.

Also, Texas is the last team from the state of Texas to beat LSU, and yet ATM has had 7 fucking cracks at them since and they've shit the bed like the gutless pussies they are all 7 times. They've had piss coming down their pants the last 3 match-ups, where they might as well have not even shown up and just called for a forfeit.

Piss isn't brown (usually, anyway). Otherwise, I agree wholeheartedly.

A&M probably wishes Garner was a walk on but he’s been eating up a scholarship for years.

I hadn't even realized Garner was still on the roster. I thought he had medically retired by now.

Coming out of HS he had some type of serious head injury and most people thought he would never be medically cleared.

Not ever playing is just like retiring, health wise. Unless he’s cracking skulls in practice.

Technically speaking, most aggys have serious head injuries coming out of high school.

Saw this post from an aggy and he gets it. They really only have 2 guys that can play the mike and buck positions (Alaka and Dodson).

If they have to play Hines or Buddy Johnson inside they are going to get abused against the run. You need guys in the 240 range that can come downhill and take on guards at those positions. If either Alaka or Dodson get injured their season is over.

"In Elkos defense, you will almost always have the mike and buck on the field. These guys need to be able to take on guards straight up, come downhill, tackle well 1 on 1 in the box, and have the natural instincts for an ILB. Ideally, you'd like someone about 6-2+ 240+. We really only have 2 of these ideal guys on campus, though both Hines and Buddy Johnson could play it as well. Buddy looks huge in his pictures.

Most plays, Elko will use a rover. This is more of a typical sam OLB. Think 6-2 225-230 with safety coverage ability. I think both Buddy Johnson and Hines are perfect for this, but out of necessity one, if not both, will have to play ILB(mike and/or buck) for us this year. Losing Okeke is a big blow to depth(assuming the rumors are true)."
