Michigan was ranked in the top ten at the time.  That was a fox game. Joel klatt had to sell the game but even he knew a blowout was coming.

asu was garbage.  Clemson snuck in.  Aggy had a young qb.  Ou had a young qb and no receivers.  Actually first quarter, Quinn and sark kept ou in the game.  So now that I think about it, the one game where we exceeded expectations was CSU

I dunno man, we win at Vandy. We all know First Bank Field is a tough place to win.

Yeah, he got hurt on a spearing that wasn't called, reviewed or even discussed much.

I’ll probably get torched for this post (bad timing for that comment) but you guys had a great season.  No, it didn’t end with a national championship, but that only lands on one of 133 teams.  You were one of the very best.  Be pissed you lost.  I get that.  But be proud that you got to the semis.  That’s hard to do.  Very hard.  And you guys are set up for long term success.  I wish we had 1/4 of the resources you have.  You may very well be here next year.  That’s something most of us only dream of.  You are positioned to do it.

I've got no time nor desire for your kind words and positive outlook.

I'm here to bitch and moan about shit and I don't need you comin' round with your Mary Poppins "Sun will come out" skip de da bullshit.

Take it to the Lulz sub you bear lovin' commie!

Also, yeah, were doing pretty good.

But FUCK YOU!

Drew Kelson and Wadlington both said on YouTube postgame that the goal line sequence is extra hard to swallow because they felt up to that point it was one of the best offensive gameplans we’ve had all year and we made a lot of good adjustments on the fly considering the hand we were working with (No Golden for 3/4ths of the game, Bond disappearing again).

That probably pisses me off more than the play call. Sark thinks that play didn't work because we didn't block it perfectly? I don't think it was possible to block that play "perfectly" given OSU crashing down. We had a pulling guard that had to somehow try to block 2 free defenders.

He just needs to own the shitty play call.

Iirc, they were killing us with the 2 back all game. They killed the whole season in 2 back.

As much as Herman’s pigheaded stubbornness was infuriating, sometimes you need that sort of mentality.

Remember the 4th and 1 against Georgia in the Sugar Bowl? Herman said "fuck it, we are running it straight ahead four straight times and we're going to get into the end zone if it kills us". And that's what we did to win the game.

That's not stubborn. That's playing the probabilities.

Getting half a yard 4 times is reasonable.

Offense can’t score more than 14 points, Quinn had zero pocket presence just as we’ve seen all season. It was obvious to anyone that Sark should’ve had Manning ready sooner if we really wanted to go get a natty this year.

Yall can post all the stats in the world about Quinn and I was rooting for em, but deep down we all knew he wasn’t going to be able to get it done.

Now we can all be aggys and say “we’ll get em next year”!

Waste of talent again this year.

The offense had first and goal from the one yard line to tie the game with about a minute left.  We managed to turn that into a 14 point loss. All year, we found stupefying ways to keep lesser teams around for closer-than-necessary wins.  Its not surprising that our season ultimately ended by finding a stupefying way to lose to a team of roughly equal talent and ability.  Sark is our guy and I appreciate the much he has done right, but the dude has got some shit to figure out on offense.

Yep find a QB with literally any pocket presence and we win the national championship.

Probably should’ve just had Manning run the offense instead of pretending he’s Tim Tebow.

Then again that defeats the whole point of starting Quinn over him so I guess that’s not allowed because of reasons.

Or find 5 all americas on o-line that will block perfectly 100% of the time.  Which isn’t to say there isn’t some shit to figure out with the O-line, too.

The Ohio St TD before half was a stupid gift from PK. There was no need to blitz considering risk-reward with amount of time left and was same level of stupidity as the shovel pass play called right before halftime against Bama in NC game.  Texas won the third quarter and could have taken lead to win.  Maybe next year.

Being able to criticize him in the SEC title game and the playoffs says a lot.

Mistakes were made, and I hope he moves to correct them, but a lot of great shit along the way as well as we finished Top 3... again.

If this is "who he is" I'll take it. Excited for Arch's era to begin.

Inside of four years, Sark has gotten us from 5-7 to consecutive 10+ win seasons and top five finishes.

The portal helps accelerate that, but recruiting, development, and culture are still essential.

And he has done this with:  a) a limited QB b) a flawed OL pipeline and c) horrendous luck with injuries at RB.

We're not TCU or FSU flashing in the pan with a new coach.

The teams we like to compare ourselves with have been doing this for nearly a decade or more, except nemesis UW, whose QB is starting in the NFL in his first year now.

Well, I'll say this.  IF it is required that you be a complete screaming asshole when players don't execute, which is an an alleged attribute of successful head coaches (Saban), then his recovery philosophy is probably never going to permit him to be that guy.

That's a big IF.  And most of his qualities as a recovering person are going to be beneficial.

You are more talented than every team you play, not named Ohio State & Georgia.  You SHOULD have 10 wins out of the blocks.  That's your floor.

The playcalling sucks after Sark gets off-script.  He doesn't utilize the talent he has available, and sometimes actually impedes it.

Maybe he can learn and get past it.  The flow of talent ain't stopping anytime soon.

If you see anything wrong with what Sark had to say about that playcall there, I dunno what to tell you.

Not being to displace the man in front of you makes it extremely difficult to run goal line offense.

He believed he could get them out leveraged, and it went far worse than expected with the loss of yardage.

It would have been a great call if it worked, but it didn't. The OL was not good enough for us to win today, that's really what football comes down to more often than not.

Yeah, the red zone against a really good d just exacerbates our team flaws in an iffy OL and lack of power running, and where it's too easy to defend what we're (our QB) actually good at.

It seems like one attempt to bounce it outside is reasonable, but you can surely quibble with the way we went about it.

'When we got down there, they went to big people,' Sarkisian said of the OSU formation. 'I couldn't quite tell, I was on the far side of where it got leaky, but it's one of those plays, if you block it all right, you get in the end zone. We didn't and we lose quite a bit of yardage.'

Blames his blocking instead of coaching. He's not him. It was a fun season. I'll be back next year.

He 100% got too cute on 2nd and goal. This is his tragic flaw. Really good leader and offensive mind but he sometimes passes up the simple for the complex. And when he does it normally fucks up.

Why did we suck in the red zone? Because we have a QB who can't make a catchable throw in a tight window and we don't have a power RB after Baxter went down. Simple.

Yep, he runs an NFL offense with college players against defenses not "smart" enough to buy all of the misdirection. We have the better athletes, use them. Our o-line finally has a bunch of dudes, but they are asked to do way to much instead of just simple blocking schemes that can utilize their size.

Against blOU in 23 he ran it up the middle 4 times and then tried a quick out to worthy. People bitched that he wasn’t “creative enough” and was too predictable. Now yall are bitching that he didn’t run up the gut 4 times. The play call was fine, the blocking and execution was dogshit

That toss wasn’t going to be a td ever. We had 3 guys blocking 4. My biggest complaint is we didn’t run arch out. Look at the osu td the series before. Lines up and runs it off tackle. You bring arch and push him across, run up the middle, run off tackle. You don’t run toss. Then you’re forced to pass with the slowest decision making qb in the pocket I’ve seen.

Sark said his play call would have been a TD if his players would not have allowed players to leak through. The leaking had happen in 3 of the last 4 games if you include this one. Why would he expect that play would all of a sudden work? Instead we lose 6 yards.

He said prior play did not work but it seems to have gained a half yard (have not seen highlight in detail). If so give it a chane to gain you another since that is all you need. Fucking Sark😡

I think Arch was concussed.  It would have irresponsible to use Arch in those circumstances and the staff knows it.

Let's just hope that was his knee-jerk reaction to the play getting blown up and that he backtracks later.  That said, players win games, coaches lose games.  Regardless of emotions, Sark *should* have said, "Defense made a play," and moved on.

you know how teams couldn't make short yardage up the middle against us (well except for the qb draw that everyone on earth saw coming besides our defense) we weren't going up the middle vs them either, it was never going to happen.

To his credit Sark did make some halftime adjustments and got the ball out of Ewers hands much quicker. Lot of quick throws to receivers and hoping they made plays one on one vs their defenders. More often than not they did and got decent yardage on first or second down. We’d be singing a much different tune about Sark if he had handled the goal line offense better. Unfortunately he didn’t and opens himself to a shit ton of criticism. Hopefully he’ll learn from this.

It is not just the goal line calls. We get an interception and yes the quick throws have been working and what does Sark do to cash in on the interception? He runs it twice into the line and has to punt it back.

Defender teed off on his head.  He was wobbly and actually stumbled when he got up, then had a blank stare beyond the typical Manning-face.  I'm going with the latter.

Oh well if that was the case then never mind. I didn’t know he was concussed and never heard anything. I mean anyone posting here like they knew is assumption but hey it’s on the internet so must be true!

also, when people say run up the middle I don’t understand why they think of 1984 run up the centers ass play. Ohio st ran up the middle on us right before we took down the field . Run up the middle can be off tackle as well. Hell qb sneak and push ewers in from behind had a better chance of getting in than a fucking toss play that never had a chance.
