Chargers just had their TE motion Under center to take a direct snap for the first.  Maybe try that?

Or how about lining up a RB, WR, or backup QB to run single wing in the red zone?

Or fuck, I don’t know, a PA Rollout with a TE sneaking into the EZ?

Simpler than that…
still run the sneak, but not the sprint to the LOS, quick snap, predetermined run “gap” that we try to get cute with. Line up, survey the D and then make an actual choice based on D alignment.

Would it be the idea strategy? No. Is it simple and light years better than how we ran it? Obv.

Fumble prone

just run shotgun zig/cross/fade or duo up the gut from single back

Did Sark call play action on 2nd and 15 at the beginning of the game? Is he stupid? Also, he has got to stop running that damn screen where the qb does a fake and pirouette. No one bites on that anymore.

Seems to me that the worst thing you can do is squeeze your blockers all together. If you spread them out, and if you have two RBs, and the D tries to stack the middle, the D is looking at a numbers problem off tackle and beyond. The QB of course must be able to look at the matchups and audible, but if you get good at it, making a couple of yards should be a gimme.

What did the Aikman cowboys do against the best teams in football? Bet they had a kickass fullback in there. Fake step to one side, hand off to the other. Or have the FB as lead blocker.

Maybe Sark isn't putting in the hours necessary to do the job at the levels needed? Maybe they could give him an extra fifty/sixty hours per week with a good hire at OC.

Texas went to the semifinals twice in a row. It seems ludicrous to think right now that Sark may be fundamentally flawed somehow. But….is he?

Well we lost both those semifinals with terrible redzone offense.

The last one, it wasnt just the REDZONE offense that was lost…

Gonna be an interesting post game PC.

Sark has built up a lot of good will, which has allowed him to run this program with more secrecy than normal. He was chippy with the press last week. He needs to take ownership of this pathetic offense. This is on him. Yes, Arch had an incredibly disastrous performance. But Sark's game planning and playcalling are dogshit, the O-line is a disaster, the body language overall on offense is fucking horrible.

"All Gas, No Brakes" is a laughable mantra. Rarely have we seen our offense firing on all cylinders or a style of play calling that backs it up.

Completely unacceptable. Own it and fix it, Sark.

Agree on all points. We consistently come out middling on offense. Doesn’t matter if it’s with an experienced offense full of talent like last season or a young, inexperienced, yet talented roster this season. I saw a stat last week that said we’ve scored touchdowns twice in the last 20 starting drives or so. That’s fucking pathetic.

It’s now clearly obvious that unless he’s an OC for a Hall of Fame coach, his offense leaves much to be desired. He’s slow to adjust if his original gameplan isn’t working (which is much more often than not). And his postgame comments today about his philosophy on not changing his 4th down play calling is maddening.

Everyone keeps holding on to hope that this offense will come out firing like we did in Tuscaloosa a few years ago, but sadly, that night has proven to be the exception, not the rule.

Maybe Sark is actually ass and needs to have a massive talent advantage to look good.

Ewers was just that good... we may never see another like him on the 40.

Last year actually resolidified my belief that Texas will never get to the mountaintop under Sark unless it's just 1.) An unbelieavbe amount of talent stacked on one team that can overcome coaching flaws; and/or 2.) A ridiculous, lightning in a bottle individual playoff run from the QB position ala Joe Flacco's Super Bowl run. He's been a great program builder but he continues to be mediocre as a pure football coach and I don't think he's likely to rip off 3-4 in a row against comparable talent.

I’ve said this since he was hired and nothing he’s done here has made me reconsider. I think our best chance was the four team playoff for those exact reasons.

The test will be if he modifies his staff and approach, particularly on offense. But we shouldn’t discount his program building. It’s been fantastic and is also necessary to win a title.

In the history of college football, no system works, and no coach looks competent, with a QB who struggles to throw completions to open receivers.

Someone put up sarks record ba Lincoln Riley’s and Herman’s.   Two guys that we often laugh at.

sark struggles Vs top ten opponents and can’t develop qbs.  He lost to anyone with a pulse last year.  Mo, beating Clemson and asu is not a huge accomplishment

That’s a funny mantra as it seems like our offense is constantly killing clock when we have a decent sized lead.

thank God for PK at least

Remember when everyone was going crazy last season asking to put in Arch lol. Quinn looked like Tom Brady out there compared to this season.

DKR, Osborne, Wilkinson, Switzer all say hi. But your point is still valid.
