November 14, 2025Nov 14 lol aggy.com stat page only takes the rivalry thru 1915 (start of SWC play for some odd reason) to make it seem less one sided, even though it subtracts 4 of their wins.

November 15, 2025Nov 15 I can't imagine how many college towns I've been in. At least 100? I wouldn't put B/CS above the bottom 10%. Athens, Clemson, Baton Rouge, Boulder, Champaign, Eugene, Madison, even Columbus all are so superior it's comical. They might have the edge on Waco.

At least Waco is on the interstate and you can easily get to Austin or Dallas. College Station is in the sticks.

I’ve hit every PAC 12 school over the years for work and always bought a hat or shirt. ACC as well in my travels. And I would only buy gear if I was on campus. Had a cool collection going. CSB: was at mizzou years ago and sold them a bunch of clothing for electricians on campus. Royal blue FR clothing. They sent it back because Kansas colors. I had to replace it with gray FR fabric. Made me chuckle but I get it.

I have a huge collection of college coffee mugs . . . somewhere (storage?) . . . I made it a point for years to drop into college towns while on driving vacations and pick one up. As an example, I'd rather live in Northfield MN (St. Olaf) than B/CS by far. Then you add in all the "big city" college towns (Boston, SF, etc.) and the Aggies are so far out of their league it's laughable.

When MSU came up and your post made me think back. Starkville was among the worst for me. CS is right up there. I looked at some that came to mind. Johnson City, TN (ETSU) was one. It certainly doesn't have a lot to offer, but a quick search provided some interesting items and just outside are the Appalachians. Martin Tennessee, home of UT Martin is... up there on chain restraunt only, middle of nowhere, nothing to do cities. Even some weird remote ones like UNC Greensboro were in cities I far preferred. Canyon Texas has Palo Duro Canyon and there ends the list of shit to do. It's not the worst college town, but certainly bottom 10% and I'd probably say bottom 5. I've been to all the ones you noted save Eugene (which I actually want to visit) and yeah, those are different world better, like Greensboro, NC. I wouldn't plan a trip to any save a couple, but I would dread going to any either. Edited November 15, 2025Nov 15 by BurntEyes

You can’t get anywhere easily on 35. CS is a dump, but you can usually get to Austin or Houston faster from there.

Been from San Antonio to Minneapolis on 35. Didn’t say I love it. But I don’t love Gause or Caldwell or Hearne or Navasota, either.

If this fails they'll be stuck with elko even if he's 3-9 for 5 years

November 15, 2025Nov 15 Those transfer receivers they hit on leave and they don’t strike gold in the portal again, get a tougher schedule next year. This team could easily be back to 8-4 next year.

I mean they could be great.... but no one fucking knows because neither their opponents nor notre dames have impressed anyone, so they may be good, but they may also be getting the benefit of shit schedules. I mean at least wait until you either win the sec championship, or win a CFP game before you repeat the same fucking mistake as 5 years ago.
