Sark is a good play caller but he has important spots in games where he calls stuff he can’t call given the situation. If he would fix that leak in his game we wouldn’t have to worry about our defense.

Throwing deep in 4th and 3 at the 40 in that situation is something you can’t do. Yeah he got the best case in. Wide open receiver but still have to make the throw and make the catch. And that throw is not Ewer’s strong suit. You just can’t risk not getting the first down there by calling a low percentage play. You do that play on 3rd and short when you know you can go for it on 4th.

But if you are going to call that play, you have to drill in your QB’s head that you don’t care if it is an INT. You HAVE to throw the ball where your WR can try and make a play on it. It’s not the time to make a perfect pass where only your guy has a chance. It’s 4th down, an INT down there is better than an incompletion. Just throw it up.

I’m hoping the deep route wasn’t the first read and Ewers forced it.  I haven’t seen a replay yet so I don’t know if anyone else was open.

Worse call was Bijan at goal line on 3rd down after a few runs. He always has troubled there. Totally set up for play action.

Gig em ags.

Touch loss on the bye week.

I’m not an aggy just a guy that calls it like it is. Our coaches would trade their left nuts to get Walter Nolan on our team. We have no difference makers. I can’t believe we have 5th year seniors on every level of the D and it’s underwhelming

That had to be the call. It was a stupid low percentage call when we absolutely had to have a first down.

He wants to be the kind of offense that can punch that in when the defense knows it's coming. Herman was the same way.

The offensive line is just nowhere near that point.

If you call like it is then why do you think we should over pay for Rhule after the disastrous results Carolina had doing that? Seems like a stupid thing to do. Let Nebraska over pay that guy to suck.

fire RG3 right now, get him the fuck off the air, stupid motherfucker

And fire whoever let him fire Old Smokey at kickoff.

The only time anyone from Rapelor should be allowed to fire Old Smokey is if the barrel is firmly buried in their ass a minimum of 8".

It's not an elite defense. We know that. They're going to struggle at times and look great at times. It's the personnel we have.

We have elite offensive talent. Elite QB. Elite RB. Elite WR. On the way to elite TE. They had 21 pts on wide open throws for TDs that Ewers and Cain fucked up. You can't do that when you have an elite offense, decent defense, and the offense needs to carry you to wins

This offense should never score under 30 with this talent.

They are not elite. ISU scored 54 pts in 4 P5 games. Defense had not busted a coverage all year and busted 2 in this game, luckily Hutchinson dropped the second. Defense gave up 2 3rd downs on offsides, one on Jamison. All week I said this was going to be an ugly game and ISU defense would be a major test for an inexperienced Quinn. Their defense is excellent and it was a major test. Quinn has elite talent, but he isn’t an elite QB yet. He is still learning the game.

Campbell says he was told they were reviewing targeting, not the fumble? That's interesting.

It's the Big 12 /danhawkins

They didn't even know what the call was. They definitely didn't know what they were reviewing.

Trust me it is. You are past your prime it’s okay I’ll be there one day too 40 and beer gut and my girl will be craving the next younger guy’s Johnson as well it’s human nature bud as long as she doesn’t act on her urges.

The OL was actually killing ISU on that drive. I am never going to say giving Bijan the ball with a yard to go is a terrible call. Knowing you have 4 downs to score, I would probably call run also from the 1 or 2 on 3rd also. Imagine the reaction if Sark called play action there and Quinn was sacked

Gotcha. You were kind of talking like this was some kind of new analysis on your part that eventually be vindicated when we lose. I thought that was kind of weird since we all know this and it has already happened.

It's not so much giving Bijan the ball as it is lining up in a jumbo set and telegraphing the inside run, which you suck at in general, as clearly as possible against a very good defensive opponent. Your team has been hit or miss in that situation against much worse opponents. That's not the time for a pride play.

Does it matter? Cain was wide ass open.  Quinn should throw that, if he believes in his abilities. You get a WR wide open 40 yards down field. That is a great outcome, you just have to execute

Bijan has done it a few times this year but yeah we aren't at the point we can punch it in against Iowa State.

Yeah I kind of agree. I like being aggressive on fourth down once in a while.

Cain had a disastrous game though. Oof.

We held their rushing offense to 74 yards total for 2.6 yards a clip. The secondary absolutely blew it allowing 9.1 yards per play, most at the most crucial moments of the game. TCU and Okie Lite will eat our lunch if we can't figure out how to defend that soft zone they like to play constantly

Texas played a ton of man also and got burnt. Coaches are going to have to find a replacement for Watts. They put in Jordan, Brooks, and even moved Baron to CB. Secondary play was not good, but Watts injury left the coaches scrambling.

He's done it against shitty opponents, and still gotten hit in the backfield. They've also gotten stuffed in those sort of "we're going to line up and punch it in, we don't care who knows" calls against much worse defenses. Game potentially the line is not the time to lean into a weakness. As I said above, I don't mind the run, but telegraphing it so clearly is setting your team up for failure.

They scored the TD on fourth so it's moot here, but it's definitely a tendency.

I had to DVR the game due to an appointment. I was so tired of this team by the third quarter I decided to just fast forward to the end. I’m sick of watching uninspired and uninspiring Texas teams.

Shhhhhh. You’ll get bitched at for not getting excited about a win.

Hey bro- Brown skin older guy here. You are going on about pussy you hope to have to guys who've already had more pussy than you. It's like bragging about one day being rich to guys who worry about capital gains all day long. That's some weirdo type shit. And while I may be older, my dick is still just as big as it was when I was your age young fella. Young girls like older guys too.

And if he called a pass and Texas gave up a sack or a holding call, you would have pointed out how well the offense was running the ball and Sark was an idiot for not giving it to Rojo or Bijan

That's true, it was a complete backend failure. What I noticed the most was safeties crashing at the wrong time and the corners that were in getting crossed up on slant routes. There's a lot to clean up back there

Doesn't matter. Because on review it was clearly a fumble and that it wasn't targeting. Anyone who calls that targeting after review needs their eyes examined or a profuse bitch slapping for their bias.

I do agree in general that RoJo should probably be getting the ball on the goal line. But no, you would not see me calling for this team to try a very strongly telegraphed interior run out of a jumbo set against a superior defensive front after they just got stuffed running inside on second and short. If Ewers took a sack I'd say you can't do that, have to throw it away. If an OL held I'd say you cannot commit a penalty there; but those aren't play calling issues.

The way you old geezers on here crave younger women, y’all don’t think yalls wives are craving 30 yr old brown skin men like me. I get eye fucked at the games by 40-50 yr olds who I assume some of y’all call wives. Our DL sucks, our DBs can’t defend, our OL has no pride in blocking for Bijan and Ewers has a lot more mistakes to be made. Oh and Sark gets figured out at halftime every game. I wish we’d throw the sink at Rhule.
