As a young kid. Grew up in Frisco.

He was in Frisco from like kindergarten or 1st grade through 10 or 11th. Then he went to one of those basketball prep schools (Findlay same school as Cory Joseph and Myck Kabongo), but his family has always remained in Frisco. So DFW has been home since he was 5 or 6 years old.

And you pansies cried when Naz Reid touched the back of the head of someone who was questionable leading up to the game with a neck injury.

This is a despicable act by Dallas. I counted 18 flagrant 1s…that would’ve at least cut the lead to 14. Might’ve even won because i think kyries frog splash on ant from the rim is automatic ejection

Seeing Rachel Nichols on a show with Skip Bayless and Keyshawn Johnson is so fucking depressing. A clear reminder to not do a racism.

Ticket pricing is pretty insane.  I went to games 4 and 5 in the 2011 finals and that wasn't cheap (in 2011 money) but just no way to justify $2K for a shitty lower.  Will be interested to see if this market holds.  I know of several half season or 20 game pack holders putting up game 3 to try to make their playoff spend back on 1 game which isn't a bad strategy if it works.

Any idea what face was for the end sections of the lower bowl? Prices are steep for even Cuban right now.

It's all relative depending on your status. I think season ticket holder "face" lowers behind the basket (relatively high up) were something like $380.  But Mavs (and Stars) have figured out they should capture "market value" instead of the brokers.  I'm pretty sure Mavs were selling non-allocated shitty uppers in the $800's which means they were selling lowers for well over $1K. Same thing for Stars.   My season tix (lower corner) were like $220 for game 5 Friday.  Stars were selling seats in my Section for I think around $400.  I know new ownership bumped season tix for Mavs significantly next year.

It worked in 2011.

I went to Games 1 and 5 of the 2011 WCF and games 4 and 5 of the 2011 Finals. For game 4 of the Finals, I paid like $500 apiece for lower level behind the basket. For game 5, I paid $300ish for 3rd level. I was content with those prices. Went all out that year for Mavs/Rangers attending the playoff games until the end of their run. Never will do it again, I will enjoy it on tv. I was much more loose with my money back then. Enjoyed the hell out of it and will always have those memories.

$2k apiece is fucking insane, even for great seats. Buddy of mine has season tickets and has tickets for game 4 this year. He put his on the market right now for like $2700. To see if he gets any bites. I can't imagine people are going to be jumping to pay those prices right now. These prices always drop as the games get closer. Our home games are over a week away. No reason to buy right now unless you are planning to come from out of town and need to get your tickets and hotel in order. I also assume people are waiting to see how the games in Boston go. If we go down 2-0, are people going to want to pay huge money? On the flip side, if we go up 2-0, I'd imagine you might be able to get a little more seeing as people want the chance to see them lift the trophy.

100%.  DFW big game ticket market is such a winners town and massively impacted by momentum.  Best example of this was game 5 of the ALCS last year after we had lost 2 straight.  Still 2-2 and a huge game and I took a massive loss selling my extras.   In 2011, I recall having like $900 in cash for game 3 of the finals (after winning game 2 in Miami) and my wife and I couldn't sniff even terrible seats so watched at a bar.  Then, for game 4 (after losing game 3) we bought center court uppers in the 2nd row for like $350 each.  I had already gotten lucky with a great lower single from the presale for game 5 (which was before the Mavs figured out they should be charging "market" and not "face" value.

Where this ticket market lands is 100% dependent on how prior games go.  I think market dips a bit regardless for first 2 home games.  The only sure thing for an absolutely insane ticket market would be Mavs having a chance to clinch at home.

NSIAP.  Even though he's not on the playoff roster, will Longhorn Greg Brown get a ring when the Mavs win the title?  I don't know how it works in the NBA since he didn't play much this season.

Porzingis expected back for game 1.

He was always going to be available for the Finals. Boston didn't need him at all with their joke of a path to the Finals so he was allowed to rest up completely. Boston will be very difficult to guard if they get good shooting KP. If he's way off, like he was here often, we can drop off him. They also have Horford to deal with.

Need to try and get him involved and moving in pick/rolls when he's on defense. He's terrible at defending those. Test to make sure that calf is really healthy.

In '11, I had a well-constructed plan to attend Game 3.  It worked like a champ.  I left my parents' house in Garland (I think it was Father's Day weekend that year) and drove downtown.  I parked at Hooters a few hours before the game and went in to eat and drink.  With 2 minutes left in the 1st Quarter, I bolted.  Literally sprinted from Hooters to AAC.  I had $400 cash on me, but put $320 of it in my pocket and $80 in my wallet.  Found a scalper outside and told him "I've got $80, it's better to get that than eat the entirety of a ticket."

Got 1st row 2nd level behind one of the baskets for $80.  Watched us lose that game, but I was still there.

Of course now, paper tickets are the rarity rather than the common.  Much easier to do stuff like that back then.

I hope the outcome of the series hinges on Tingus Pingus. I know he’s reformed but I still think there is a weak minded player inside. When I saw the stat about Lively having more playoff experience, I was like “yeah, Porzingis is a concept, not a player that has ever actually helped a team win a series.” I mean his team swept their way to the finals WITHOUT him.

Porzingis has a long history of being extremely rusty shooting coming off extended absences. I think anyone who is counting on him to make a meaningful contribution is probably wish casting at this point. It's not impossible, but a rusty KP has been proven time and time again to be a very average player.

So how we feeling going into this thing? KP or not, the fact that they will have 5 shooters on the floor at all times gives me some pause. This isn't like OKC or MIN where you could just not cover a guy like Giddey or Kyle Anderson. I have a feeling there are going to be some real stinkers where Boston just blows us out due to a 3-point variance.

I feel pretty confident we're going to win the paint and rebound battle if we can keep our bigs on the floor. Very interesting matchup.

I don’t know, but I do think we are better than an Indiana team that played them very close for 3 games.

I would point out that Indiana team absolutely pantsed us twice in the regular season. I know it's not the same now, but Indiana is a bad matchup for a lot of teams.

I think that was Boston playing with their food. They knew Indiana was no match for them overall and they could coast and just turn it on at the end. It got dicey a few times but Boston exerted the minimal energy needed to win that series in 4. I think they will be locked and loaded for this series. They made the ECF 5 times in 7 years with Tatum. Lost in 2022 after having a 2-1 lead to GSW. They are hungry to win this as it's been their time close to a decade now.

I have the same pause for what you mention. If KP gets on track, it's going to be even harder. They were the best team in basketball for a reason. They are super deep and have a plethora of shooters. Although the East being very weak played into their record.

But Miami in 2011 were favorites by a good margin it seemed. We dug down deep and won that.

When did Chandler Parsons turn into a Quebecois bro-country singer?
Very specific but you nailed it.

Everyone's talking about how we stop Boston from the 3 pt line and rightfully so, but how is Boston going to stop us from controlling everything inside the 3 pt line?
