We're about to ditch the wife's 21 Escalade for this. 6.2 with no engine/powertrain problems at all but have had multiple electrical gremlins over the years. A formal recall will smite the resale.

Loved my basic little  1991 4-banger S-10 with A/C & 4-speed stick.

Son wrecked it in 1997.

Man where was this again?  Were you in South Austin at this time, or maybe over by Lanier?  'Cause that could pretty much be my parents' neighborhood, the one I grew up in and where they still live, at Burnet/183.  Right over by Playland Skating Rink.

Yeah, it's not good - The problem was inferior metal compound used in the main bearing caps that would crack and eventually just let go. I understand there's a GM recall out for something like 800K plus vehicles with that engine and main bearing caps problem. Good luck GM......

Tundra bro's what the hell is my truck throwing as error codes and how do I fix besides languishing at the dealership?

  1. Pre-Collision System malfunction. Visit your dealer
  2. Trailer Brake Error

They need to do a re-calibration of the system. I got this and my camera system quit working. Let me know if you can read this. If not, I can email it to you. I had to send this to the service guy when I went in and informed him of this issue. Saved a ton of time.

Saw a video about disconnecting the battery, letting it sit for 30+ minutes and then reattaching everything - wonder if that is essentially doing that recalibration on it's own?

Not sure. I have the hybrid, so I wasn’t too keen on unplugging things.

Since I have gotten the truck I have not noticed a regen taking place. I’ve searched the intertrons and have found varying amounts of info on the subject. Some say that the F250 will do partial regens. Some say they will only do full regens on distances of 20-30 miles on the highway. I don’t even know how much my filter is holding right now and if it even needs a regen. I saw somewhere you could take the truck in to the dealership and have them update your dash to display the filter percentage full but I don’t know if that’s accurate. At the end of the day I don’t wanna be driving along and go into limp mode because the filter is full. Are partial regens a thing? I drove kenworths for a previous employer and it was all or nothing on those things. Driving out to Grand Prairie tonight so I’ll get a regen in I’m sure. But just trying to find out more detail on what is and isn’t needed.

RATS!!!!  Fucking rats.  Little shits chewed up the wires to the fuel injectors - causing it to run like I'm going over continuous speed bumps and shake when idling.  Also cause it to throw all those error warnings, etc.

I'm taking up falconry and declaring a Jihad on those little fukers.

How many miles does it have?  I had the 2008, and my DPF would go into regen nearly daily before I deleted the DPF system.  The onboard ECU should trigger the regen, but looks like there's a parked regen that you can start manually.  I'd bet you could trigger it by Forscan, but not certain.

I know GM's will, so would assume Ford is the same.  In 290k miles I only limped it due to DPF once, and that was after it went out (no longer receiving correct voltage to fire off) and it was after I towed our camper across the state and back.   Even then the limp wasn't that bad.  It would slowly build power but i could feather it up to 60+ mph (trying to get on highway to force a regen before I figured out the issue).   That truck was not DEF so I don't know how that affects the process.  I will say with my Ford, I will sometimes go 3 months without needed to add DEF, and sometimes it seems like I'm filling  up every few weeks.  No change in driving or towing.  Not going to try real hard to figure it out as when it breaks, it'll get deleted.
