Big win tonight.  As crazy as it is to say, it feels like we need to win our Blanco starts.  And Kirby is no joke.

Yep

only 3 Ks against a guy that had 12 last time out.

love that in all of the shit so far this season we’re still maintaining our ability to be best in the league at (not) striking out.

the situational hitting is starting to turn.

.375 (21-56) since Mexico City.

(And we stand to be even better in that area cutting the dude that was responsible for 10% of the team’s Ks when he was demoted)

We have the human K machine Joey Loperfido sporting a 45.5% K rate. It didn’t get better. I like Loperfido and think he will get the K rate down, but that won’t be an improvement from Abreu.

He won’t play as much as Abreu. (At least when Chas gets back)

Pitcher injury updates:

Cristian Javier is currently pitching a rehab assignment game

Jose Urquidy is throwing a live BP session tomorrow

Luis Garcia threw a bullpen session yesterday

Lance McCullers Jr threw off slope of the mound in the bullpen yesterday

Lance McCullers Jr. starting throwing off the top of the mound today, Joe Espada said.

"Huge," Espada said. "That's a big step because effort level comes up and now you've got to finish pitches a little bit different. That extra whatever feet, it makes a big difference."
