the non holding is such bullshit.  I'm sorry of the tackle for Vandy can't handle simmons.  if you call holding when it is holding then vandy is going to have to adjust by giving him help or changing their play calling.  but we can't have that because...reasons, apparently.

I hope it’s a blow out so refs can’t make a difference.

Stupid blind dumbfucks

the QB pulls down our tackler out of bounds and they don’t see anything g through the crowd of people and fucking call it on us anyway

This was a 30 yard swing. Should have been 15 on Pavia instead of 15 on Texas. And he knew exactly what he was doing

It was due to running with him out of bounds. After that, he got jumped by the bench, which definitely should've been called

Filisaime ad no choice because Pavia pulled him down.

Well officials stole what should have been a TD,  buried our offense with phantom calls, and aided their offense by ignoring delay of game penalties, allowing them to hold and tackle, and interfere without penalty and it was particularly egregious at the end of the game.  The 2 point conversion was just the perfect video review because it shows how unquestionably biased they were about manipulating the score.

Correct, the refs clearly had an agenda to make the game exciting. The calls were bad to the point where it was beyond the level of incomptence. I was at the game. Crowd was pissed.

In no particular order:
Ignored PI on pass to Mosely
Ignored hold on Pavia run (among others)
Absolute BS 2 point call
BS 15 on Filsaime that belonged to Pavia
False start when 2 DL crossed LOS first
Phantom hold on Shannon
Vandy RT false starts every passing play

Pavia throwing the ball at our guy after TD. They make it offsetting so Vandy can have a better shot at the 2 point conversion

Delay of game on the 4th and 19

The whole situation with the PF on Fulsimae is enraging.  the stupid fuck play by play guy immediately goes to jump to conclusion mat that Filsaime is at fault, as does the idiot McElroy.  the refs of course have no idea what they are doing.  It is obvious he is trying to hold up Pavia but officials don't think because they are to busy trying to be football safety cops instead of watching the actual situation.

I wished Fil had embraced it and drove Pavia into the benches. Earn the 15 at least

I’m pissed the they the second sentence out of sark’s mouth at the postgame, after “really happy for the win and our team” wasn’t “that was the worse officiating I’ve ever seen.”

It’s because of the fine that would come after it.   I’d love to see a coach go ape shit on the Refs and make it the whole focal point of the post game and then walk out.   I think the fan/booster/alumni base  at a school like Texas would pick up the tab on the fine just to put the clowns at the SEC  office on notice and make it the buzz in the media and podcast across the conference for a week.  Which in turn would force the conference to address it along with some of the other non sense such as certain Ref crews kissing Kirby Smart’s ass.

The whole use of replay needs an overhaul if officiating crews want to retain what credibility they have left in this era where any series of “mistakes” or out right incompetence starts to be assigned to fixing games thanks to then gambling environment sports find themselves in.  The NCAA needs to adopt a challenge system like the NFL and this should apply to penalties that are as obvious like that hold and mugging we took on that TD drop in the end zone in the 4th qtr.    The NCAA also needs to adopt the ACC model of showing the discussion in the booth so we are not relaying on the TV commenters and the so called “Officiating Experts”  they turn to for their take on a call which by the way I see they turn out to be wrong a lot these days too.   So much for being experts.

Speaking of crappy SEC officiating, the Razorbacks did themselves no favors yesterday with some bonehead plays, but they were in it the whole game - until the refs decided they shouldn’t be. 18 penalties for 193 yards vs. 4 penalties for 30 yards for Miss. State.

Quote

Arkansas (2-7, 0-5 SEC) was penalized 18 times for 193 yards — both single-game program records. The Razorbacks had 15 penalties for 158 yards after halftime.

Mississippi State (5-4, 1-4) was penalized 4 times for 30 yards as it snapped its 16-game SEC losing streak.

Arkansas interim coach Bobby Petrino was clearly upset with the officiating after the game.

“Are you trying to get me fined?” Petrino said when asked if the officials were overzealous. “I do want to say something but I can’t. That’s how they handcuff you. I’ll just say watch the video.”

I don’t understand the “fear of the fine” when discussing the refs. The people are multi millionaires, they aren’t getting fined that much. Same with the schools.

I do understand that if they outwardly call them out too much, the refs are gonna gang bang them.

Petrino is correct.    If the SEC or any conference is so confident in their officiating, they shouldn’t be afraid to take the incoming when questions like disparity in number of calls is raised.  Or just outright missed calls or wrong calls are documented on video and left open for questions.   These stupid fines the conference holds over the coaches and I assume the AD’s heads are more detrimental to the integrity of the game than the status quo.

Also interesting how many of the calls/non calls changed the game.

Uncalled hold on Pavia’a td run was 3rd and 5. Third and 15 is a lot different.

The blown procedure call on Texas changed a 4th and 1 to a 4th and 11 forcing us to punt.

The non DPI call on Moseley forces us to try a field goal that we missed instead of having 1st and 10 on the Vandy 18.

You could tell he was trying to let him go. Should have been a flag on the bench.

You can’t let an entire team surround a player on the bench like that. That was bullshit all around.

not to absolve the refs but all I could think watching the game was, they could call holding every play against Vandy. this game will last forever. Vandy had no chance blocking any of our guys legally and I think Vandy and the refs were like fuck me ,what are we suppose to do. can't call holding every play.

They could have just called it several plays. That would have been a start. Or call the rest of the game correctly. But that was too much to ask.

Just now, Pato del Muerto said:

If they’d call it several times in a row, maybe they’d stop holding. Ignoring it encourages it.

you rarely see more than 2-3 OL holds called in a game on one team regardless of the number of pass plays a team runs.  it is just like DPI/DB holding.

Simmons was dominating that tackle all day unless he held him.

That’s what I’ve never understood about the “you could call holding every play” thing. If you did, players would adjust, and then you couldn’t and wouldn’t.

if “egregious” holding is all you want to call for game flow purposes then 1) change the rule and codify it as such, and 2) don’t ever call ticky tack or phantom holds since they obviously don’t meet your criterion of egregious.

Same for Kirby’s bullshit. Flag him twice in a game and eject him and see how often he gets in a ref’s ear

actually they can do it. they just won't and to add to that they wanted Pavia to get his chances for heisman.

If they call holding then a) the coach has to adjust play calling or protection or b) put in the backup to see if they can do better.

Thateasily could have been a 48 to 10 ass whipping but we of course had to help with the 67 yard one play TD and giving up a 4th and 19.  Akina is asswater and should be put out to pasture.  he has no idea how to coach zone principles so going to a prevent is worse than just playing man.

On Vanderbilt's TD drive before half, they had 4th and five. Stowers was moving forward at the snap of the ball and the WR clearly set an illegal pick to get him open neither were called, likely forcing them to attempt a FG.

I get why Vandy started tackling our DL but your take is bad. When your kids are being jackasses and ignoring you, do you just throw your hands up and make them other people’s problem?

I still can’t believe the 2 point replay. I can’t believe the on-field call either, but mistakes get made. Upon replay, there was no shot that showed the ball breaking the plane. None. Zero evidence it happened.  But for some reason the decision was that the official had a better angle than all of the cameras so we have to go with that.

by that definition, it shouldn’t even be reviewable unless you put a camera right where you say it needs to be in order to overturn a call.  Otherwise, every camera will have an angle and the SJ will obviously be to the millimeter right down the line to have a better view than all of them.
