I'm glad the usual cast of characters is rounding into form.

Now we need an out-of-state douche or two to post a screenshot of the weather in some economically-unsustainable town with nothing but Moose in every direction for miles.

Sorry. I won't do it.  Besides, climate change will catch up to us all eventually.  While my temps are great I do get the joy of 'smoke season' late in the summer every year it seems. Take care Texas amigos.  Hydrate well.

Nowhere near 105 in Georgetown.

94 right now.

95 in DFW right now and finished a 45 min hike to pick up my car getting some work done. Thought I would save money on an Uber getting some steps in. Main thing that sucks is how this compares to the weather from the weekend. It was picture perfect and I could work hours in the yard without a drop of sweat. Summers coming and it's going to be coming in dry, no lube.

I will say this is the first time in as long as I can remember where the forecast was for over 100 and the actual high undershot it by a few degrees. The last few years the models have been 2-3 degrees off but in the opposite direction. It has been oh the high will be 97 amd I look at 4pm and it's 101. This is a nice change, if you can call it that.

Just for the record, were you in 3rd grade, or just some creeper who hung around at the playground?

Yep, that's why I had to move out of state in January ...the summers are just too fucking hot in Texas.

So, I moved to Las Vegas to escape the heat.

It’s super fun having to remember to turn on the AC upstairs a couple of hours before I go to bed just so I can fall asleep in a not completely sweltering room.

They were saying the smoke is the reason it hasn't been as hot as the forecast predicted.

It's absolutely disgusting outside. Neither "soupy" nor "swampy" successfully convey what Houston feels like this morning. This is some early August bullshit.

Meh, it ain't great but it's not near as bad as Tuesday was.  Tuesday wasn't as bad as June 15 - Nov 15 are going to be.  So we got that to look forward to.

Dallas may be the only big city in Texas that is bearable now. It sucks here in July and August like the rest of the southern half of the US but our suck still starts later. I look at Austin and Houston feels like temps in May and June compared to Dallas and there is a big difference.  Dallas has its days of course but not the string of days like there is south of it.

It actually rains in Dallas.  Even Houston gets afternoon storms.  We get a forcefield and a high pressure done for summer.

A widespread power outage is blanketing the New Orleans area, affecting more than 52,000 Entergy customers on one of the hottest days of the season so far.

According to the Entergy website, Lakeview and lake area neighborhoods to the Industrial Canal, Gentilly, and parts of Mid City are without power.

Across town, pockets of Treme and much of Uptown also are in the dark.

The outage represents more than 25% of Entergy New Orleans’ total customers, according to PowerOutage.us.

fantastic. We can’t get our crap together and it’s only May.

Dallas easily has the best weather of any big city in Texas.

Granted it can be marginal.

I don’t miss the two months of praying for your car not to get annihilated by hail.
