We just had one of the dryest Junes this century but strangely enough we didn't have any days over 100.  In fact we haven't hit 100 since May.  That's unexpected.

Yep, here’s the summer we all know and hate.

The stretch from yesterday through Labor Day has quickly become my least favorite time of the year in Texas. If I could make it work financially, I'd absolutely love to spend basically the next 10 weeks living out of state somewhere with a more desirable climate.

Labor Day... lol.  More like Halloween at least and possibly Thanksgiving.

Haven't hit 100 at all at my house in NW Travis all year.  It's been pleasant.

Almost zero rain though, which sucks.

I know it stays hot long past Labor Day, but there are usually some short-lived cool fronts in late September and October to provide some relief and the mornings and evenings become a lot more tolerable.  And it's football season, dove season....etc.

For the next 2 months, it's just punishing heat and humidity 24 hours a day and there ain't much to do beyond go to work, hop in a tepid pool, or watch baseball indoors.

All in all, we've had worse Junes.  Hell, we had a little shower at our house yesterday and it turned it downright pleasant in the evening.

Whereas the boy is in central Germany....where it's 95 degrees, and NOBODY has AC.  He draws his curtains all day, opens his window and cranks up a portable fan at night, and sleeps on top of the sheets.  And is still hot.  Man....god bless AC.

He should get into AC sales in Europe

Those little portable small room units are selling like hotcakes. My daughter invested the £175 in one early in her stay in London, to make her room tolerable when they have a heat wave.

I'm seriously considering this in the pacific northwest.  Or anywhere that thinks they don't need AC.
