Play for Texas.

When he went to the portal, he said "I know I will be a moonshot for a team that wants to win a natty. Not having Coach Flood evaluate and develop great lineman for my new team is my only regret".

Sounds like all of the talk of Austin going Hollywood is fairly accurate.

Could be something, could be nothing, but Bama hosting another WR this evening is interesting… I know they might be a team going after 2 WR’s, but Texas hasn’t had another WR on a visit besides Coleman as of now as far as I know.

Doubt that means anything. They wanted to add Coleman even when Horton was still on board. Losing him means they probably add two WRs even if Coleman lands elsewhere.

Bama definitely has something to sell at WR with the development of Ryan Williams. He's just gotten better and better each game he's played.

I think its moreso the timing aspect for me only because I think when Coleman decides, you get some more very solid guys that enter after he sets the market and I won’t lie and say I know a whole lot about Noah Rogers but I think its safe to assume Bama could line up some better visits at WR.

Also... This video is a pretty good picture of what Arch to Coleman will look like with our current projected line.

What’s he doing these days? He may be paying the rest of his life.

"Could be something, could be nothing" Is this your audition to be a $9.95er?

Bama site saying that Coleman may stay and go to their game vs Texas tonight. That poor kid deserves every penny of the ~3 million he is chasing if he has to endure Texas basketball during two different visits.

I guess football isn't the only sport we win in Tuscaloosa.

If any of you fuckers are bemoaning Barnes, you didn’t watch any Pitt games last season. I don’t think it’s possible to replace Anthony hill but this is close.

A good way to look at it is, Would you trade Bo Barnes potential career for having Anthony Hill on the 2026 defense? I think most people wouldn't even have to think about that. This is real close to that outcome.

So reportedly Barnes signed with Texas over Ohio State, Oregon, and Alabama, and now he’s transferring to . . . Kentucky?

Those other schools can't afford to pay for part-time starting four or five stars any more than we can.

Kentucky has had a nice offseason they could easily become a top 10 program if Will Stein kills it

I only saw their bowl game, but he was clearly the standout player of that game. He jumped off the screen as a man among boys - always in the right place at the right time, disruptive, and fearless. Bo Barnes has a lot of promise and will probably be a great player, but this is a clear upgrade for next year.

Neither here nor there but he's a truly excellent coach.

Here’s a fun snippet from Bobby Burton this morning that sums up where we are in the portal era. Beware kids:

- DeAndre Moore has yet to find a home. He has visited Colorado, Louisville, Ohio State, and Ole Miss, and possibly others. Moore's asking price was not met by Texas, nor any of the other schools as yet.

I can't believe the news today
Oh, I can't close my eyes and make it go away

How long, how long must we sing this song?
How long? How long?

'Cause tonight
Cam we can be as one

Serious question….and not specifically about Moore but in general….would/should a team take a Prodigal Son back if he was able to demonstrate that his journey out there was a wake-up call, on the chance that you get a more mature and focused player?

Edit - well no shit as I typed that I of course recalled multiple players did that during our first round of flirtations. So I guess my question is whether Texas would consider that with Moore

Depends on the player, and the asking price. Moore by all accounts was a great teammate. Worked hard. But I’d also argue we overpaid for what we got from him LAST year. What you’re describing is what I think happens all over…typically just before they enter the portal. See Black, Kobe.

Depends on the depth chart, particularly in Moore's case. In that situation, if they get Coleman, they don't really need him back.

I was thinking more along the lines of “if Barnes lights it up next year”, and Texas needs LBs, will they offer him?

The college football model is changing right in front of our eyes. Indiana is showing us that high school recruiting is a relic of the past. Grown men from the portal are whipping five star 19 year olds.

Literally speaking, yes.

But a whole shit ton of IU's "transfers" followed their coach from JMU. Yes, Cignetti has been good in the portal, notwithstanding the JMU players, but they are "quality depth" and long-term developed under Cignetti.

Not necessarily something Cignetti or anyone else can repeat on the regular.

No. You find a better player in the portal.

Biles is immediately seen on his highlights by the way he moves and makes plays. It's like watching a top HS recruit blow up his vastly inferior competition except this is college tape. Hook 'em!

Program is crazy but they can become a top 15 team.
