Transfer Cycle 2025-2026 - Shit In One Hand, Hope In the Other, Tell Us Which One Fills Up Faster

0 TD and 4 INTs to close the 2025 season with two losses sounds like a frontrunner for 2026 Heisman to espn sports media

12 INT on the year - the only games he didn't throw one were USU, UTSA, Arkansas, Mizzou and Samford.

He threw 8 INT in 4 of his last 6 games against LSU, Texas, Miami and South Carolina

13 of his 25 TDs were UTSA (4), USU (3), Arkansas (3), Samford (3)

Not strictly transfer related, but significant roster news

Wingo for $1m + our young guys and use the other $1m for RB, LB or OL

This is where I am and believe is the correct answer, given Texas isn't going to go all out and outspend all of CFB for the '26 season.

Wingo had a quality final 5 games, skewed a bit by MSU game. Out of 50 for 770 total on the season he had 26 for 450 and 3 TDs receiving over the last 5 games. I think you keep him and look to add a fast, quick proven slot receiver with good hands in the portal.

How many OL if they keep Goosby? 4? 5? They need a portal overhaul there then a new OL coach.

LB is extremely thin. We'll find out what Barnes has on Wednesday. Probably need 2.

Need 2 RBs with one being a top of the portal guy.

I'm pretty bullish on McCutcheon as a slot receiver. Dude has shown he can catch and he's fast as colcae'd diarrhea running down Rosie O'Donnell's legs. He dropped one pass this season and it was under thrown.

2 RBs, 2 LBs, at least 2 OL, 1 DL, 1 CB, 1 S, maybe 1 WR.

Add to that retention fees for guys like Simmons and Goosby, crossing 20 mil may not be out of the question.

Forgot to add: probably need to get a new kicker and punter as well, with Shipley + Bouwmeester graduating

Sorry if already posted here, but some Florida posters thing Texas is a team to watch with their young edge player who entered the portal this morning, Jayden Woods

Also there's an FSU DB who a national reporter said Texas has had conversations with

Reed has been so overrated by the media this year it's unbelievable.

He's no better than the 4th best QB in the SEC according to pretty much every relevant metric out there. Yet he was named a finalist for the Davey O'Brien and Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Awards, ahead of guys like Diego Pavia, Trinidad Chambliss, Ty Simpson, Arch Manning and Gunner Stockton who were all better than Reed this season.

3,169 passing yards, 25/12 TD-INT ratio, 493 rushing yards + 6 TDs in 13 games is an incredibly average season. He was a decidedly mid-tier QB this year.

He's an amazing, irreplaceable talent and should hold out for more money from aggy.

This looks like an interesting one. Probably less than half the cost of Coleman too

Idk I get the motion Sark wants a guy with Wiggle, like a Zachariah Branch that can make defenders miss and take it to the house. I didn’t see that from McCutcheon, but he was young so.

I really been looking at Jaycee Brown. He seems like the perfect slot as far as WR that suppose to go in the portal

Coleman is expensive because he's a bonafide X who's an auto target on a big boy down the field route any time it's one on one in man, and provides a big catch radius target against zone. The stats haven't been great so far, but he also has had Jackson Arnold throwing him the ball. Think a Tee Higgins or Georgia Pickens type. Or if he has more juice than I think, maybe a Nico Collins type

Wingo is a manufactured touch and then yards after the catch guy in a big body, like a Cordarelle Patterson or Xavier Legette. You're hoping he can be more consistent doing fundamental WR things, but at it is he mostly scares defenses in the WR screen game

That said, I'm skeptical that Texas is really being competitive with the market here

A couple of IOL starters from Iowa State are entering the portal. Guessing they'll follow Campbell.

Depending on how Cojo's recovery goes, he could be an option for the interior next year.

Before he was injured practice reports claimed he was neck-and-neck with Baker at the RT position.

Don't worry, aggys don't see reality (I know water is wet). I spoke to a current aggy student who's a friend of my son's and he was still bullish on Reed despite the 2-game faceplant at the end of the season. "When he gets in a groove, he's amazing and unstoppable!!"

I even pointed out to him that perhaps he wasn't as good when he faced a top defense like Miami or Texas and that his team didn't play anybody before that. Didn't faze him or stir his thought process in the least. 😂

Unless things have changed, no one on the Texas end was working on Cam Coleman. Him entering the portal has been buzzed about for months, so him announcing that he’s going in isn’t exactly news. It has always been viewed that a bidding war will transpire and someone will give him stupid money.

Do of that what you will, but if Nakos is actually getting good information here, that would be a big surprise. I do think OU and ATM are players for him, though.

I think Texas will get a quality WR in the portal, but they’ve clearly focused on retention and what they have coming back in the room. It shouldn’t be a surprise if the WR that Texas lands comes with his WR coach.

Hung out with some aggie friends on Saturday and they are very over Reed. I think his last two games have done it for a sizeable chunk of their fan base. They're ready to move on to the next great qb hope.

Feels like this particular period of time (portal announcements then two week period of portal opening) is like the biggest mad dash of the year for coaching staffs. I'm assuming analysts help break down as much film as possible on these possible transfers? Then you're doing whatever research regarding a player's character and mental evals? Christ, what a shitshow.

In Texas's position, I'd think you want to avoid the crazy bidding wars for big name guys unless you're VERY confident they will assimilate and succeed immediately on the field. Some programs are more desperate than others to get obvious blue chips and throw out huge $$$.

The chaotic variable of what schools are willing to spend on individual players and overall team budgets makes this hard to follow or take that seriously. Like, how do you get mad at Sark/Texas losing out on a guy when we are so in the dark with the details and inner workings? At least with regular recruiting there is time to develop relationships and players eventually pare down their choices. Portal is complete chaos.

I didn't see much from Brown, but I looked up some highlights on YouTube and he's a dude. I would not be disappointed at all if Sark landed him. And yeah, McCutcheon is young, he has a lot of growing to do, but he has the tools to be a weapon. If anything, both Brown and McCutcheon will, or should be an upgrade from Moore. Speed kills.

Do we not drive up the price of players for other teams just out of spite?

He’s unanimously hated by aggie Reddit. They want someone else.

Well fuck, next man up I guess.

Helobious must’ve just found out that Baugh’s family Americanized their family name from Baughtinez.

CC is a slower wr with more fumbles and drops than wingo. But man he is perfect for jump balls and wingo will never get better at all , so let’s overpay that dude. Wr will be fine at Texas

Just a reminder that Wingo dropped like 4 passes in the first half against Georgia and also tripped over his own feet twice looking upfield at nothing but grass.

I understand we are on a budget and have other positions to pay for, but acting like Coleman isn't an upgrade at WR1 is delusional

Coleman's agent knows how this works. Tell A&M he is considering Texas, watch them bid against themselves to keep him from going to Austin.

Well his agent is a Texas alumn

Reminder that there is a Biletnikoff semifinalist in the portal and it isn't Cam Coleman. I'm talking about Danny Scudero, who looked solid against UT and would cost a fraction as much

He also had more drops than Wingo.

We need Reed to re-up with aggy for every cent he can wring out of them. And for that to be enough to limit their ability to surround him with guys who can catch inaccurate throws.

I wish yall would let this recruiting fan fiction die, and stop trying to wear this as some sort of badge of honor.

Also some of you seriously need to watch more games. There is absolutely no reason to overpay for a WR like Coleman.

Are you thinking of a different player? Because that describes McCutchen’s skill set.

Brown is another interesting option that won't cost $2mm.

On about twice as many opportunities..

Bishop has about as much wiggle and overall elusiveness as you'll find. Whether he's ready as a true frosh is another question, but I'm guessing Sark makes an early effort to get him the ball.

We don't need to "drive up" the price. Agents use our name to do it through the media without us ever having to actually participate.

Hard disagree. I don’t think it counts as an “overpay” when you’re getting a guaranteed top tier player in college football. If Texas has the financial means with Manning taking less, they should pay as much as they can. You’re not only paying for his talents, you’re paying to keep him out of Georgia, Ohio State, etc. Regardless…he’s likely not coming here anyway.

25 minutes ago, MirrOlure said:

Look, I get you’re funnin’ about and I’m not knocking you for it, but given the way some of this board has posted about him in the past I feel obligated to say it: Andre is a good young man, and one of the hardest working you’ll ever meet. He may not be a first round pick in the nfl, but it won’t be for lack of effort. The young man has incredible people in his corner, and a good head on his shoulders. On the list of things to worry about, he’s not one of them.

Now, back to the regularly scheduled rubbing of the gash.

Like I said. Watch more games. Cam Coleman was not a top tier player in college football last year.

Cam Coleman is so much better of a receiver than Wingo and it’s not particularly close.
