Who are the top IOL wish list right now. That center from NDS with about 1700 snaps and no sacks and who else?

From what I remember, Hawkins doesn’t seem to have much interest in Texas. All of the insiders mention he’s from Oklahoma every time his name comes up.

Apparently, Okie State has made Hawkins a priority. A lot of people think he’s locked in there.

OU on the other hand is apparently competing with FSU for some APB named Avant out of Colorado State. He had 400 yards last season. The mods are saying that OU thinks Blaylock and Robinson are as good a tandem as they could ever want, especially with Hatton showing up for young depth.

Of course, the mods are also having to skirt around saying that OU is not expected to be much of a player in the TP overall this year. I guess we’ll see if that’s true.

Clark surprised me yesterday. Sometimes, it takes a good long while to come back from an injury even when you are cleared physically. Perhaps the extra month of practice and getting RB1 reps were what Clark needed to regain confidence. Like others, I don't think you can bet on one game, but it is encouraging. We, uh, just need the, uh, coaching staff to make a good evaluation here regarding portal acquisitions.

I was also happy with the wood the secondary brought. There were a few too many easy passes, but they are young and just coming off an Akina season. Will be fun to see how they show up for the first part of next season.

Miami proves once again that if you have the dominant O-line or D-line in the country, you stand a good chance of winning it all--or at least a critical game. Sark often talks about building out from the interior, so we'll see if he stays true to that philosophy with this year's portal. I hope so.

And with that, I'm ready to travel the vast wilderness of arcane topics and horrible opinions that is the Surly off-season. Hook 'em!

C
Trent Fraley - NDSU
Austin Kawecki - Ok St
Jake Renfro - Wisconsin

G
Shadre Hurst - Tulane
Eryx Daugherty - BC
Emmanuel Poku - ECU
Tellek Lockette - Texas St

Is a good starting list. If someone wants to do OT's in case Goosby declares.

We initially recruited him heavily, then he ended up being a locker room cancer at OU, and now he's out the door at Louisville.

I’m not sure if it’s not interested, as much as the expectation that he’s going to OK State. Following the only coach who recruited him, back to his home state.

Good he can go to ok state. We don’t need him at ou. Keep ou stocked with dog shit

I love Bobby as a lead voice covering Texas, but I don’t always agree with him.

I don’t think he, or you apparently, have watched much Louisville this year. For one, they didn’t need Brown to be a bell cow. They just needed him to be reliable. They had another top notch RB1 type in Duke something, Watson, maybe, and a solid younger 3rd string guy as well.

If you look beneath the surface at his weekly performance, Brown had a big game against Miami in which everyone seems to want to draw their conclusions, and then he feasted on junk food otherwise. He missed or played poorly against any other defense that could fog a mirror and did the same shit in 2024. I think the guy is a pussy and paper tiger.

Definitely didn't watch him much this year. I think he can fill the 2024 Jaydon Blue role though

Any chance Mestemaker also follows Morris to Okie State? I'd like to see them get back to competitiveness.

I also wonder if knowing he was going to be the primary back in the game made a difference. When you know it's mainly you being the guy, you're more likely to step up. More of a "Do or Die" kind of motivation. Whatever the reason, he damn sure did step up. Happy for him.

Which leads me to the question, why didn't Simon get any touches? Is he fumbling in practice, suck at pass pro or both. He did flash some earlier this season.

Pretty sure he’s OK State bound as well. Same story as Hawkins, follow the only coach that gave you a chance.

I think he’d be way better than Blue because he’s capable of running inside and holding onto the ball. He’d probably be the best RB on campus unless Clark is coming into his own or Cooper is ready right out of the gate and is amazing. I just think there are better guys to target without the issue of soft tissue “injuries” sidelining them every time someone puts their hat on them.

My friend who kid is a HS QB in that area and has a daughter at Okie State told me they're giving Mestemaker 7 million

In multi-year form? Even that is hard to believe.

Since daughter is plugging into the NIL game at ok state? Sure Jan

It doesn’t, it’s probably half that number. No one is spending a third of their “legally allowed” money on one player. And I don’t think the Pokes are playing big boy games off the books. So I’d bet $3.5mil is way more accurate, if not still a little high.

I saw 2 year deal earlier

I didn't watch any Louisville games so full disclaimer there, but Brown averaged >5ypc every game except one (Pitt) this year. Keyjuan Brown was their next highest carrier (5 fewer than Isaac) and he also had an impressive 7.3 ypc.

He also averaged 7 ypc last year as a true freshman on 165 carries with only 3 games <5 ypc (and in two of those he only had 2 and 3 carries). 7.6 and 150 yards vs Clemson, 6.8 and 178 vs Kentucky, 117 vs SMU.

Again, I won't claim to be an expert but the numbers don't look like feeding off junk food to me.

Imo Baugh + Brown would be the absolute dream combo. It sounds too good/expensive to be true but Bobby is very much hinting that it could happen:

One of these portal QBs is about to get paid a shit ton of money to go to Lubbock in the next few weeks

Well, shit. Ketch is pretty confident about Texas and Coleman.

A few years ago I started mentally tracking RB’s who had been thru ACL and Achilles surgeries, partially because I’ve been through two acl surgeries myself.

I noticed a very clear trend of much better performance in the 2nd or 3rd year after coming back, as compared to the first year. The Cowboys Williams is an example of that, who finally looked good again in year three.

Along those same lines, those that didn’t comeback strong by year three were permanently worse.

Don’t know if we are seeing that 2 year performance bump with Clark, but he looked like a completely different player. What I can’t reconcile is that before he got hurt he didn’t look very good.

Nah. It just should be there now with the rev share is the main point. You’d like to think anyone. I’m in over 5k since NIL became legal though. Pretty sure if every fan did as much as me we’d be made in the shade. I can’t do more than I’m able to collective for a reason.

You didn't see him before he got hurt. He tore his achilles before his true freshman season.

And stupid mother fuckers are going to lap it all up like thirsty dogs. When those 995ers post news and facts it’s fine, they start prognosticating and it gets dumb real quick.
