The shadow was there when Arky was at bat too.

but that doesn't fit the narrative where everyone is always out to get us - the umps, any and all selection committees, the curvature of the motherfucking earth

Can't transitive property baseball, pitchers have days on days and off days - even the best get rocked occasionally.  We just seem to get embarrassed by really good lefties too.
Kade Anderson
Pico Kohn (got us 6 times swinging)
Zach Root

Well, we need to get to the root of the problem. I’ll show myself out…..

that game fucking blew but it was inevitable. hopefully they have the same mental toughness they showed against lsu after the shitty friday night game.

that said, most national champs in the last decade have hit a skid in the season at some point and we genuinely have not had that so far. if it is going to happen, rather it happen now than in june.

We gotta do something with the batting order around him. Can’t have him hitting 3rd.

It’s time to give Jalin the Faltine treatment and eject him from the top of that lineup. Needs to be hitting 8th or 9th. He has a .247 OBP in 22 conference games

Will also be an interesting conversation between Jalin and Schloss in the offseason. His draft stock is cratering and he isn’t worth what Texas is paying him

Faltine was a 7th rounder and signed for 200k.

I think Flores has a little more upside than Faltine offensively (Faltine was a walking strikeout), but it's hard to see him going in the top 5 rounds at this point. He is also an old junior by age, so he would probably just be smart to take the 250- 300k a MLB team will give him and try to figure it out in pro ball.

He has to leave this year for sure. One thing Trey had going for him is that despite the horrible bat, he was a plus defender at the most premium defensive position. Jalin is an average defender and won’t be playing that position at the next level.

Theirs is a joke. Ours is unnecessary.

Ours is just dumb. I really wish no one would do that. Just like the sec sec sec crap.

Very few do. I was disappointed that the last trip to Omaha it included some of the players' family members (including DC's very outspoken mother).

5. Borba

6. Will

That is how I would set the top right now

Id like to see Galvan back at cleanup trying to drive in runs instead of Juan Soto'ng his way into 0-2 count after another

Definitely would not have Borba that high. I wonder if moving Jalin up in the lineup could help. Give him Rylan behind him for some protection.

I just hope Luke doesn’t get behind again tonight. I think if team goes down 2-0 again like it did last night (and luke did last week) that crowd will take hitters out of it.

Need hitters to think about what they are trying to accomplish at plate. Last night they made a guy with nearly a 5 ERA looking like Nolan Ryan in his prime. Watching strike after strike, golfing at terrible pitches, no sense of zone, was a flat out ass kicking.

Team has chance tonight to settle the fuck down and get to work

In a perfect world with Belyeu healthy he would be batting 2nd. Pretty common now in baseball to bat your best hitter 2nd to get them as many ABs as you can.

Galvan has a .467 OBP in conference play. Next closest qualified hitter is Kimble at .385.

Those top 5 are the guys who consistently put together the best ABs. This team doesn’t launch balls over the fence so you just have to stack the best overall hitters at the top and see if you can keep the line moving

Will: 5 HRs, .323 OBP in conference play

Casey: 4 HRs, .354 OBP in conference play

Jalin 5 HRs, .247 OBP in conference play

They are all pretty much the same from a production standpoint. Obviously of the 3 Will has the tools to be elite, and when he barrels it the ball goes to the moon. Those barrels are few and far between though.

I like Jonah, hard to make anything out of the limited sample size. His speed from the left side plays though.

EDIT: I will say we have hit more HRs than I thought we have relative to the rest of the country. Seems HRs are down a lot across the country.

Pig also uses Alohogs.  There are plenty other examples.

Is there a website with complete college baseball stats? Like the left vs. right splits and game by game stats mentioned above. Something like CollegeFootballData.com

D1 Baseball, but I think that part is behind a paywall

Absolutely right about that.  IIRC, Auburn's Saturday guy was a pretty good lefty and we had no trouble with him.

And he still got us down on strikes 6 times

Schloss mentioned after Tuesday's game that Gasparino was dealing with something in his shoulder that was impacting his swing. He didn't sound too concerned, but even the minor injuries feel like a big deal right now.

In a vacuum, so what? If our guys made him throw 8 or 9 pitches when there was no one on base and eventually whiffed, that beats the hell out of a first-pitch pop up. To me, strike outs only matter (negatively) if they come in a situation in which you have to put the ball in play.  If that happened six times, well then yeah, that sucks.

It’s just one game but if we lose this series we should probably fire Schloss and hire the Arky coach.

Obviously. I don't see any other option.

Gaspo is waving at the ball now instead of uncoiling like he was earlier in the season.  Having a hitch in his shoulder would explain a lot.

This hits close to home. I was at a local Bar Association Bowling event today and in the late frames of the first game started lazy arming and releasing early.  But I corrected it and hit a 165 in the second game.

I have never been more bored in my life than reading about a lawyer’s bowling experience.

It wasn’t going to go live on time anyways, as the lady dirt burglers are coming back against the Gators on TV right now. Our luck - extra innings.

Hook’em!!!

I will be forced to search for ESPNNEWS in my lineup again?
