Yet we accurately called him destroying the program such that it would take a decade unfuck. And some of you still defend what he did.

Well, if he's 100% opposed to everything we're doing, including personnel on the field, I think it's safe to say that he hasn't added anything.

Sark 100% thinks this is happening because Baxter is injured and Wisner has been hobbled.

I'll just always have Baxter penciled in as injured at this point.

Maybe Sark is one of those narcissistic weirdos with a hero complex. Like he needs Make things unreasonably difficult and we start in a hole and at a disadvantage just so he can “save” the team with his brilliant play calling. And everyone will be in awe of how amazing he is and praise him for a team coming back being down in a game 20 points or some shit. Except his play calling ain’t gonna save us. And it is not about simply a RB being injured or a QB slowly developing. Huge swaths of the entire team aren’t executing.

sark decided single handedly (due to his rabid success in the NFL—nope nope nope) decided to adopt a prostyle approach to the entire offseason. And he ditched all the Stuff that we’d been doing the last two offseasons that likely got us to the playoffs.

And somehow he’s gonna turn it around? Like wave a magic wand? Script a masterpiece? Our confusing and frustrating struggles on offense right now are just a reflection of his entire offensive ethos on full display. And the results are 3-2. There are no more cream puffs to play.

It reminds me of like those news stories of  fireman setting a fire so he can save someone from the fire he started and be seen as a hero.

Quick update on Texas WR Parker Livingstone —

Reports are surfacing that Texas is expected to have Livingstone available this weekend vs. Oklahoma.

That is the plan for now.

Livinngstone, and Texas, dodged a pretty significant injury on Saturday following a hit to the leg after a pretty remarkable reception.

X-rays came back clean, and nothing structural is believed to be affected following the hit. For Livingstone’s availability and how much we will see of him this weekend, that will be dependent upon pain tolerance and swelling.

Having covered Parker since HS, this game has always meant a lot to him.  Now that he is a main piece of the Texas offense, he will do whatever is necessary to be on the field against the Sooners.

Has it been confirmed that Sark "changed his approach" to a more NFL-style offseason program?

If so, that's a bold and misguided strategy. B2B semi-finals should've proven to him that his other approach worked current system was working. It had us knocking on the door of a CFB Championship. It certainly wasn't broken.

One of his reasons he gave (which I thought was stupid to begin with) is the transfer portal being open after Spring Ball and the risk other schools would try to lure players with NIL or other promises.

Well that’s off the table now as of today.  The transfer portal for all FCS and FBS players will only be open from Jan 2 through Jan 16.

good thing we won't be playing during that time so he can't do like he did last year and not bring in recruits during playoff preparation even though other schools were.

Yes. Per his own words. In a march 11, 2025 interview. He likes to spend his springs seeing what NFL teams do.

sark said it himself in that interview that he first floated this idea of abandoning the spring game, going light to almost nonexistent in the spring to light no contact practices in the summer back in December 2024.

As it stands now, we have a teeny tiny chance to play in the post season if we win out. Arch and Caldwell both would have benefitted from heavy contact practices calling 140 plays. I think we can all agree there.

So the main reason many of us are pissed when we heard of these Sark instituted changes back in March per his own words and his own reasonings for making this big change is because the result sucks. And logically how could it not?

We had a ton of new players. A few new peeps on staff. We needed to be practicing like OU was and most all of the other teams were doing. Busting their asses to get better.  We didn’t. They felt we were just going to lock and load and repeat the previous season’s success and expand on it. And we wouldn’t be as injured going into the playoffs bc we had light no contact more focused practices.

We Didn’t address glaring problems before the season started. Because imo they did not have regular practices. they clearly couldn’t see any problems. OSU should have been a wake up call. It clearly wasn’t. See Florida.

So instead we are 3-2 when we have the talent and allegedly the staff to be 5-0. There are other reasons I’m frustrated with Sark (inability to be flexible about his playcalling and not getting his ass in a booth which I feel is the main reason our team has been nearly dead last in red zone scoring offense for the past three years.)

He and the staff seemed to put too much emphasis on Baxter being our cowbell. This is an huge component of an Sark offense. Just like TE’s were an huge component of Herman’s. So if you don’t have a stud at RB the Sark offense ain’t gonna work.

in short based on our performance in the Florida game the staff appears to have no answers. Doesn’t see what the problems are?  Coming off a fucking BYE week. What the fuck did we do during the BYE week?

TLDR: yes it’s all true and backed up by interviews Sark gave back in March of this year.

Another HC who has implemented and advocated for similar prostyle type practices is Deion Sanders. So…I don’t know of any other programs doing this…and I’m sure there are a few and I get the CONCEPT of impressing recruits and retaining them by dangling the Be Pro Ready for the NFL stuff. And limiting injuries. But the problem is evaluating talent and spotting issues. None of these guys have earned it yet so to speak. Once you make it to the NfL and are a pro bowler you can say “fuck practice” even though it pisses coaches off. When you haven’t even been tested in a college game how does holding these type of practices benefit the player? Put them in the best position to succeed? Put the team in the best position to win? I don’t know. But this was Sark’s decision and his idea to do this so he needs to take ownership of it.

This isn't a talent or athleticism issue. It seriously isn't.

Its not like they went to Ohio State and got fucking handled. Get your shit together people.

This has everything to do with a locker room issue. Arch started the season saying they weren't the ones with targets on their backs they are the ones with the scope. Then he proceeds to do his best Hudson Card at Arkansas impression in Columbus, has the yips for 2 more fucking games and is best known this season for flexing on a guy he outweighed by 40lbs.

Who took the banner and ran with it? I don't see any of that shit anywhere. I don't see a lot of fire in their eyes. I see they are focused, I see they want to do well, but I don't see the energy or aura around this team or any players except for a handful.

There is no flow state possible when you are playing like this. You can play like this after you've already figured out how to be dominant and that's the standard you are playing too while being serious and in control. These guys couldn't even dominate SJSU or SHSU and damn sure not UTEP on the lines, why the fuck are you thinking you can do it to Florida?

The main thing win or lose I wanna see Saturday is the sideline in a fucking frenzy. I want these guys to look like rabid dogs ready go be let off the leash to rip the throats out of their deepest and most hated rivals. Anything in crimson and cream gets annilitated type energy.

When I see that energy I'll start worrying about what else is wrong. There's no way you can tell me these offensive lineman are punishing the DL that lines up across from them and hitting them to be fucking mean and to block them.

Until this team gives a shit, none of us should.

……makes you wonder if Taafe recovered that fumble on the first play instead of tripping over his goddamn shoelaces, maybe an entire different outcome.

I agree this team appears to lack an internal motor, and needs good shit to happen early.

Why would they have a high revved motor when their HC has treated the season like a nascar race and not an f1 race

If he doesn’t, he will if Texas loses to Oklahoma.

Sark is either pissed or mentally checked out.
He hasn’t won a title yet, so it doesn’t make sense to lose your drive.
He probably realizes that his perceived big time talent alpha QB is actually mentally fragile and can’t handle being THE GUY on this stage.

Arch is playing better, but this team lacks fire and that is exactly what Arch exuded last year. I expected some level of Tebowish fire from the guy, but instead we get timid/indifferent Hudson Card energy.

The offensive line has cost them in the playoffs the last two years, especially in the red zone, and the oline has regressed. That’s not a RB issue, unless that guy can fly. But to run through defenders immediately in the backfield is a tall order. And until this gets addressed, it’s hard to see quality wins.

This is what I don’t understand. Arch was all fired up all the time last year. The team loved it, responded to it. This season? It’s like he’s on freaking adderall and horse tranquilizers. After a score earlier in the year, Baxter (I think) came over and tried to fire him up, and he just kinda walked away.
Posted

Add that to our offensive line woes and a WR corps that isn’t intimidating and it’s no wonder Arch is struggling. A big component of Sark’s scheme is having a stud a RB to essentially be a bell cow. We don’t have that. Despite Sark changing up the whole philosophy to practice this year (his decision) which made it even harder to assess any problems until we were actually in games you can say Arch’s play is part of the problem but blaming him for all the woes is just an easy scapegoat. It’s Sark. He is the HC and defacto OC. All this shit is under him. Pretending it’s not is just choosing to be in denial. There are essentially 20 teams worse than us in all of FBS in the running game.

Maybe I’m wrong but I did see fire from arch in the Florida game. He was getting drilled every other play and at the end was still trying to win it. I saw a couple of guys leaving their hearts out there on the field as well. Leadership is from the top on down. It starts with the HC. Where is Sark’s head at? Or does he not see Arch running for his life and the OLine crumbling and the running game a hot mess when he watches tape of Florida?

CBS sports ran with the headline yesterday:

“Arch Manning's struggles are real. Texas' failures -- whiffs at OL, a deficient supporting cast -- are worse“

and the click bate lead in to the article was basically, “is it Sark or is it Arch?”

If we get clobbered like a Watermelon like Gallagher used to do with his Sledge-o-Matic this weekend and Arch isn’t the main issue (he wasn’t in the Florida game) I expect to see even more widespread public criticism of Sark. Just sayin’

I can’t stand the “Is it Sark or is it Arch?” shit. As if it has to be 100% or 0. It is Sark, and it is the OL, and it is Arch, and it is the RB room being hurt and jaggy, etc. It’s a lot of things.

It is a lot of things. But the head coach is the one in charge of those lots of things. So he gets the biggest percentage of the blame. IMO.
