I’ve got a bad feeling this is gonna be 1991 all over again. Shitty offense constantly going three and out and that defensive scoop and score in the fourth quarter is what sealed the win for us to escape with a 10–7 victory.

IDK man, this is looking a lot like 1933, neither team could get in the end zone, OU ended up winning it with three field goals.

I think we win this game. Texas has their backs against the wall and I think we see a great response. Defense is gonna play better and make life miserable for Hawkins (or an injured Mateer). Offense just needs to not lose the game for us. Texas wins 21-13

Reading this thread, you would that that Texas is a 10 pt dog.

The emotional swings of message boards depending on last game outcome, particularly if an unexpected result, is always so funny to watch. Many generally expected us to beat OSU easily week 1.    Then many thought we were losing 8 games after UTEP.  Then after SJSU we were set to dominate Florida and OU and likely not be tested until Georgia.  And now we are back to a 4-5 win season.   I'm not saying everyone but it's always a wild ride with a good chunk of the posters and I suspect that is the same for everyone's boards.   No doubt many OU fans went from wanting to fire Venables to convinced SEC and National Titles are on the near term horizon based solely on a couple of decent (but hardly 'great') home wins against Michigan and Auburn.

Here is where I'm at.   I think we have a real and significant OL problem that isn't going to get solved this year.  Ithink Manning is likely going to continue to have ups and downs but I feel good about the way he played and competed @ Florida.  I think we have enough talent at other positions combined to be in any game on our schedule if we play to potential.   I think our staff completely screwed up with our personnel evaluations this offseason, but I don't think they are idiots and expect they are scheming as much as they can to solve for glaring deficiencies (whether it works against a really good OU defense more talented than us across the board up front TBD).

And I have absolutely no idea what will happen Saturday because it's Texas/OU and there is pretty much nothing that will every surprise me about this game because the right bounce and general momentum will swing games wildly either direction moreso than any other game on the schedule.

Taafe def.

Moore maybe?  I dunno. I can’t see anyone on offense ever hyping

Manning shows emotion when he’s dominating a physically overmatched opponent.

To be fair he showed emotion last year when he scored more offensive touchdowns than Aggy on one of his 3 plays.

The fact that they are rushing back an injured Mateer is extremely telling of what they think of Hawkins. If an injured Mateer who had INT issues when healthy and who won't be carrying it a ton beats us, so be it.

Remember what happened the last time they rushed back their QB to try and beat us.

5pt swing in less than 5 days

Just means the money is coming in on OU.  I put $100 on OU immediately when I saw the line was +2.5 OU.  I will gladly pay to win cash or for a Texas victory.

Chill on this. Dude is just trying to find himself. It was retarded but give him some slack.

It sounds like we’re in agreement. It was stupid and an embarrassing look. Not sure why I need to “chill”.

Have you not watched a single Game?

theres legit fear in the eyes of these guy Ohio state and Florida showed us both times they were afraid. Malaised slow lethargic and generally didn’t care. That isn’t gonna change in 3 days. I’ll be this team has practiced in shorts and T shirts twice since the game with zero accountability. Zero strategy.  First play of the game will be a run off the guard stuffed for a loss and 2 sacks and a punt

It was said that the team had a very physical practice yesterday. I guess we’ll see.

well that's not good.  how are we going to make it through the playoffs if we practice too rough?

Yeah, I'll be there, but I'm not looking forward to this shit show. Whoever said they can't see Texas scoring more than 10 points is right. This might turn out to be a repeat of 2009 (16-13) with each team only scoring 1 TD each and then it becomes a battle of field goals.

Who is going to replace Tre Wisner's 8 carry, 11 yard masterpiece from last Sat?

James Simon better get some damn carries. Guy seems to be decisive and shoot through the hole quick. With our OL, you can’t be dancing in the backfield trying to make a decision.

The other two RBs who had a combined 3 carries for 4 yards.

Get ready for a heavy dose of the part time DB, WR, RB Ryan Niblett who will fall down as soon as gets touched for an electrifying 1-2 yards.

At one point last weekend I was shaking my head at Stroh, Spencer Shannon, and Niblett all being on the field at the same time. That should never happen, unless we’re taking a knee at the end of a 63-0 game against some shithook.
