lakers are really going to struggle every time Luka needs a blow. Dont like the make up of their team at all. mixture of Uncs, cast offs, malcontents, white boys and Luka.

might take em 2-3 years to get luka surrounded with what he needs. then he'll be 30

I think you can pretty much just plug-in Bronny for those stretches, don't know what the fuck JJ is thinking.

Saw the OKC/Houston game....

OKC didn't shoot that well, especially from three.  Maybe some first game, ring ceremony nerves.  They were missing Jalen Williams, who is probably the most important person for them defensively because of his versatility while still being able to create his own shot.  Not much different from them vs last year.

Houston?  What the fuck is with this roster?  Do they have any guards at all?  Reed Sheppard is thisfar from being a bust.  I thought he was ostensibly the back up PG but when the starting PG went down, he's still....the backup?  So, he's a 3rd string PG and the now starting point guard is Amen Thompson?  Is he even a guard?  This roster seems like a garbled mess.  They're committed to Durant and Thompson and Sengun are the future so hold on to them.  Everyone else should be on the block to get some guards.  Throw Little Reed Shephard in there.  If someone is undersized, they need to be elite at something.  (Dame Lilliard.)  Unless they get some ball handling, they lose to OKC and Denver in 5.  Sengun is the best player on the roster.  KD will miss a block of games, especially at this age now.  Not sure what they look like then.

Officiating was horse shit all around.  Very bad calls, in some cases, the refs are right there.  Reviews take too long, too.

That's a lot of jumping to conclusions off of game 1 of an 82 game season. Not that I disagree with much of it, but it's a loooooong season. We all know that OKC is going to be great but their three point shooting was a problem for SGA, Williams and Holmgren in the playoffs, too. Who knows what Houston is going to look like come playoff time. They have enough assets to go get a suitable point guard if they need one -- which they probably do.

Regarding the officiating... I don't know if OKC gets officiated differently because they are so aggressive and grabby but I'm hoping that the refs in general this year don't call as much ticky tack shit on the perimeter. As much as the excessive three point shooting has hurt the game stylistically, the refs inhibiting perimeter defense is as much to blame. I thought that game was entertaining as hell last night and the defensive intensity that the refs allowed was fantastic. That's the kind of competitive basketball that I want to see although I could do without Alex Caruso constantly mauling a dude 7 inches taller than him without a whistle.

Yeah, that shit needs to be reigned in.  Anyone can play great defense if you can just bear hug people

You mean Lou Dort tackling people isn’t just good defense?

Caruso should have fouled out in 5 minutes. Embarrassing what they let him get away with.

Shit, Caruso getting away with playing that way is why they won last year.  They don't get past the Nuggets without him being able to do that, and it's shit basketball to watch. Nobody wants to watch the less talented players just maul the more talented players every possession.

I think we're gonna love these new media layout of the NBA. Prime has some elite names with harlan, eagle, grady...NBA on NBC intro/music with some talented announcers, replace Doris Burke with Tim Legler is an automatic huge upgrade with their A team and Inside the NBA keeps their music, moxy, vibes, and we lose Stephen A, Perk, whoever else was on that BS espn panel

This makes it an automatic win!
