Stewart was straight up purchased by ATM. That shit doesn’t work the same way anymore.

This is a good get given that Texas is about to lose a lot of WR talent. Texas needs to win in the portal and land Lott because things are otherwise about to get thin.

How many of Lockett, Ffrench, Terry, and McCutcheon are gone? Or are you just saying you know there will be attrition?

Why is so much talent leaving, and is there something the staff should have done differently?

One thing I have wondered about is why they go get upper classmen transfers like Mosley, who’s been good but not great, while leaving several 4/5 star freshmen on the bench. Both transfers and freshmen have to learn the new offense. Is it just too unrealistic to rely on freshmen? Or, is WR development really that dramatic? Or, did they just find these 4/5 star freshmen WR’s just didn’t live up to their rating? The situation doesn’t seem to make much sense.

I’m not impressed with Lott, and it has nothing to do with his physical abilities. Kid has a lot of quit in him, especially when things don’t go his way.

Wingo and Moore are getting paid big bucks right?  The ROI on them has been trash.  If I remember, you stated Moore had a ridiculous ask at the end of last season and was ready to walk.  I’m assuming we are opening the door for him after this season?  Wingo has been a complete bust given the expectations with his drops and he is probably the highest paid WR on the roster.  Use his money for someone that will actually make a difference.  Terry , Lockett, French all got paid and couldn’t beat out Daylon McClutcheon?  In today’s rev share and caps, the elite guys have to produce and you can’t have WRs sitting the bench eating up NIL when there’s basically a cap now.  They may be portal out but it’s gonna be to Missouri, Rutgers, etc.  I don’t think Ohio State, Bama, UGA, Oregon wants these JAGs.

Three freshmen WRs don't see the field (Sark's circle of trust) and suddenly they're all JAGS?

Well they are 5 stars that we are paying well.  If they aren’t producing and couldn’t beat out a guy that we took late for probably a fraction of the cost, then yeah, they are “just another guy”.  This is a business now. These guys are coming here basically under contracts.  There is a cap.  We get 1 more year of Arch.  If they aren’t producing, then we need to use those funds for WRs in the portal that can contributors.  If they want to stay on the team and take less dollars, that’s great.  But there is no reason for us to pay players top dollars to sit the bench.

One year in Sark's very complicated system.  And McCutcheon isn't and wasn't some JAG, he was highly recruited.  I suppose Livingstone was a JAG since he didn't play last year.  So according to you, the new reality is if you aren't starting as a freshman then GTFO.

How does Lane at LSU change the calculus on this one?

Hopefully it doesn't because he's more into the transfer portal than high school recruiting, but with the large war chest he's about to acquire, anything can happen.

Lott officially shut his recruitment down. Is he still unofficially talking to Texas?

Mosley is just now a sophomore, right? All I'm sure of is that he's shown much-needed ability to make tough catches in the EZ. He and Wingo have turned it on in that regard, and that's a big part of why we're now winning.

Why do you keep saying there is a cap? There is no cap. Also Sark is notorious for having a short WR rotation. I’m not sure how much it is an indictment on their talent for not playing as true freshman. You need good depth at positions, you need to develop guys so they are ready when it’s their turn but that isn’t going to be free. How much should that cost? Idk. But you start cheaping out on paying players just because they don’t make an impact freshman year and eventually you’ll have a talent issue when older guys move on.

Yeah a lot of people keep thinking this $21M revenue share cap is a spending cap on all sources.

The revenue share is all-new (well, bags under prior systems notwithstanding) and yes, it's capped.

NIL is not capped.
