Sherrone Moore's Michigan Meltdown - Staffers, Breakups, Extortion, Cover-Ups, Firings, Knives, Assaults, Breakdowns, Arrests

Because he wasn't, he was hired because he was on Harbaugh's staff and the administration didn't want to rock the boat any more than necessary (oopsie).

As someone else said above, in terms of the hire itself he was Michigan's Rodney Terry. Except I guess Terry was way more qualified so this might not be a fair comparison for him in multiple ways.

Very good comparison. Harbaugh got out after winning the title with the whole stealing signs fiasco. Moore was the interim/acting HC while Harbaugh served his suspension. I'm sure the players lobbied hard for him to get the full-time gig and he goes 8-5 and 9-3. Not good enough with the 2023 title fresh in their minds.

Seems UM officials -- at least the AD -- has known about the affair with the assistant for some time now. Moore going completely ape shit and getting arrested is harder to explain. Did he go nuts because he heard Michigan was moving to let him go over the deal?

I’m a bit disappointed that the only drama UT can muster is a stripper’s monkey biting kids on Halloween. Are we really gonna consider ourselves top tier when we can’t compete with Michigan on stuff like this?

I know we are joking here, but it's not like there isn't potential for some bad shit to go down on Sark's watch.  Yes, it's in the past... but it's in his past.

You can try and compartmentalize this discussion to football, but the Chris Beard wounds are still fresh, and that wasn't too far off from what happened here.

Me... I'm just gonna stand by wide-eyed as this unfolds and meditate on the immortal words of Bono we hear at this time every year: "Tonight, thank God it's them instead of you."

Have we heard anything about what kind of knife it was?

Was he out running around with some kind of Benchmade Bugout or a Kershaw, or did he just grab a butter knife out of the drawer?

For the money, it's hard to beat a Kershaw.  For that baller on a budget.

I got a ZT folding knife for Christmas a couple of years ago.  Great knife.  I think it's a couple hundred dollars though.

Presumably Moore had some idea that an investigation was underway. Is there any chance an investigation wouldn't at least give him a chance to explain his side, even as a last step before completing the investigation?

Is it possible that the side chick cooperated with the investigation and Moore only found out as he was shown the door?

I lived through Texas starting 3rd-string Randy McEachern for basically an entire season.

We probably need at least 4 good QBs.

#metoo. Also need a couple Earl Campbells or Lam Jones.

Unless I misunderstood something, didn't the blonde white girl assistant go to the admin and confess the whole thing? No doubt saying she was manipulated and coerced by her boss?

Seems like he got fired, knew she turned on him, went off the rails and threatened to kill her for the betrayal. Sounds like his wife went Melania on him, potentially for good reason, and he put his emotional energy into his affair.

I guess there is potentially bad shit going down everywhere. However, Sark did B&E and then threaten to kill anyone. So speculative coupd bes and bullshit are just that.

Kershaw is a fine choice.  If you want a 100% utilitarian knife, go with Buck 110.  I've cut all kinds stuff with mine.  Never let me down.

Her rhetoric here makes no sense as Ime Udoka is the head coach of the Rockets right now, Ron Washington got a second chance as the Angels manager, and I'm sure Mel Tucker could get a DC job if he wants one.

That said, the actual president of the country is currently going around making racist rants against blacks and latinos. Which is something he's done his whole career. Kind of hard to blame non whites in America, especially blacks and latinos, for feeling attacked for their race given the circumstances.

Gonna stop you right there Broseph,

we don’t know the situation, Major is a fiery red head with major needs, maybe his wife shut the front and back door down in the third trimester. Maybe she told him bang all the Latina Gorditas you want just don’t get caught.

Keep my ginger’s name out ya mouth

Plus I don’t think she reported to Major and she gave him a raise not the other way around

Depending on the model, it was at minimum that, probably a lot more.  You better have thanked whoever gave that to you.

Of those coaches, only Freeze and Pitino got second chances to be a HC. And who is saying that Moore and Tucker will never get another shot? Race baiting bullshit.

Sherrone was handed a job that many others were more qualified for.  Not sure he was even the best assistant on Jim's staff but I know JIm was pissed at the AD and was wielding his power.

Can we leave race out of this situation and sports?

Are you under the impression that he wasn’t having some mental health issues? As of yesterday I have a whole lot of evidence to the contrary.

Being violent or threatening violence does not necessitate someone having mental health issues. Being anxious because you screwed up big time does not make you a mental health patient. Internal and external stressors are part of life. While they can contribute to problems the decision making and consequences are his. No automatic bubble of protection for poor choices.

This.  There are convenience hires of all races.  See Pete Golding.  No way Ole Miss hires him as HC in a normal coaching cycle.

The band does themselves no favors with their choices of haircuts and clothes while the bulk of the song is rudimentary and repetitive, but damn if that section from 2:38-3:24 rocks out just enough to save the whole thing. Should have been the focus instead of being relegated to the last third.

You must be a youngin..that song was #1 for 6 weeks and the #1 single of 1979. It was everywhere

Or, and hear me out, don’t cheat on your spouse with a subordinate, give her a raise to keep her quiet, and then threatened to kill her (and yourself) when it all comes out
And then you won’t be judged on Moore’s actions

Is this a whole new Moore’s Law? Or just a corollary, addendum or footnote?

Not to mention there's nothing wrong with rudimentary and repetitive if it slaps. Not every song needs to be an artistic experimental discovery.

100%.  Has he displayed this sort of behavior before?   I’m positive he regrets it now.  Everything just avalanched on him but pulling a knife on the wife is basically the point of no return.  This ain’t urban fingerbanging a coed

There are conflicting reports, but it looks like he pulled the knife on the sidepiece after busting into her home.   Wondering if she was the anonymous tip giver and is the one that got Moore fired.

I could be wrong, but I think in most states you can be held 48 hours before being arraigned. I'd venture a guess arraignments are set for 1:00 p.m. on the daily. He might be the first one up or he might be fifteenth in line. So, arraigned "sometime around 1 p.m." probably makes a lot of sense.

He beat Ohio State, which is HUGE for that fanbase. Both had no business being a full time head coach. Both took over for solidified coaches caught up in a scandal and rode the momentum. But once that wore off and it was their turn to sail the ship with their players, all their flaws were on full display. Luckily, UT saw this sooner than later and cut bait. Michigan I assume even before this happened, were probably in talks for the next coach.

Yes, that was confirmed by Detroit news.  The girl went to the school administration and confessed to the affair and brought emails and texts to show them.
