I hung out with a guy that was former RAF (I think) and he was laughing/telling us about how they coveted our “obscene” food camps when our troops worked together. He said it fucked with everyone’s heads, friends and foes alike

Best food in Afghanistan was at German base in Konduz or the NATO HQ in Kabul. In Kabul they had some bad ass Macedonian chef who would custom make your pizzas.

Okay, this might *officially* be one of the more disturbing things I've seen about the Russians. It started with this meme on a pro-Ukraine account (@KvotheTheArcane):

Image

Now, I wasn't really sure what I was looking at, so I went into the comments, and others had the same question. It was explained that the Russian Army is now having to "palletize" their war dead, which is what you see wrapped in plastic. Don't mind the smears.

The above is the more viewer-friendly version of what you'd see. In the below [SPOILERED NSFL], a separate account was mentioned that has photos showing bodies before they've been shrinkwrapped.

Spoiler

No body bags? No problem!

Just crush your comrades into meat cubes for easy transportation!

Anyway, it's a short 2:30 minute video. I always like Michael Clarke, so it was a fun listen for me.

You always like Michael Clarke, I always like Jayne Secker, so it's a great video.

(it is a really good video - shame we don't get these kinds of videos/explanations here with the American media).

More Ukrainian army food porn

 Translation:
- Now I will call him and say: Get away from the sausage.
- Look, they agree on something. Listen, they agree, they agree, to whom how much. Come on, he says, come on, give us a little more this time. He`s ghosting. Didn't agree. Vitya (Victor) is dissatisfied. He says, I'll call him now.
- Well, get away from the sausage, bitch.
Laughing.
- We see everything, we see everything from a drone.
Laughing.
-There, for the tankers, take two sausages.
Laughing.
- Bye.

Translation.

Seryozha knows what kind it is. What?

This is french kind.

From France.

Yes yes.

Btw, look, sunflower oil, carrot, onion, cabbage, good to fry in it, with enough flour. All is in place, guys. Well...

Over 230,000 casualties

r/ukraine - Russian losses until 04.07.2023

r/ukraine - Ministry of Defence UK - Daily Ukraine update 04.07.2023

How to understand?

-Casualties are KIA and seriously wounded

-Russia has a higher % of KIA, due to poor battlefield recovery standards

-Russia tactics use a lot of cannon fodder. The cannon fodder typically comes from prisons, homeless and conscripts from Russian occupied Ukraine. They don’t waste a lot of time training them. This is significant; how much concern would there be in the US about a war with 80k dead, if 60k were homeless, felons and draftees from Peurto Rico? That’s the game Putin plays.
-point being: the Russians aren’t “feeling” the losses. They will, soon.

EuromaidanPR: russian forces launched S-300 missiles from its territory on the Kharkiv oblast, Ukraine. Several missiles fell on the territory of russia. Shit happens.

Hertling: This Russian effort will, in my opinion, be ineffective in distracting Ukrainian forces from their offensive objectives. But it will contribute to the already long list of war crimes committed by Putin & the Russian military.

The other day @JuliaDavisNews provided a link from Russian media saying their forces would “fight through” radioactive communications with their “protective suits.” Which just shows how dumb they are..since the suits are designed for chemical weapons.

Now we have information from our intelligence that the Russian military has placed objects resembling explosives on the roof of several power units of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Perhaps to simulate an attack on the plant. Perhaps they have some other scenario. But in any case, the world sees – can't but see – that the only source of danger to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant is Russia and no one else. Unfortunately, there was no timely and large-scale response to the terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant. And this may incite the Kremlin to commit new evil. It is the responsibility of everyone in the world to stop it, no one can stand aside, as radiation affects everyone.

At what point in the past two years have they demonstrated that their stupidity has any limits at all?

At this point in time, we should join Brisket on his ledge.

I'd like to think that Putin knows that taking out a nuclear powerplant and potentially putting fallout all over Eastern Europe and/or down into the Black Sea would be a line too far.  It would see the West, at the very least, coming down with serious sanctions on China, India, and anybody else still doing business with Russia.

But Putin obviously does not have a grasp on what is going on, and he's got a sunk-cost fallacy that has completely taken over his mindset. After all, while it was clear the Russians planned to blow the dam, and then blew it, they didn't do a very good job in thinking it through that they screwed thousands of their own soldiers over, and cost themselves a lot of vehicles that they desperately need.  Blowing that power plant could easily harm Russia as much as anybody else.

My guess is that he will try to use the powerplant as blackmail - I happen to be in the minority, but I don't think Ukraine stops without Crimea for a couple of reasons, one being economic, but two being that if Ukraine keeps this up, they will cut the land bridge in the near future, and they will have (or do have) the means to hit the Kerch Strait bridge, cutting Crimea off.  No way they watch as Russia laboriously and slowly tries to keep Crimea supplied with ferry boats, without trying to take it back. They also have to decisively defeat Russia in order to maybe keep the Russians from fucking around for a while.
