He is incapable of admitting fault in any way.  It's incredible.  He can't even admit that he misspoke for a second.

Yes, this specific example is small potatoes and a non-story, but it really is a perfect microcosm of everything wrong with the man.

Everything wrong with Trump is too bigly to fit in a microcosm, except for maybe his hands.

And this is a different explanation than the one he gave to GOP donors on Saturday night.  At that time, he claimed he said "Cook" but it wasn't audible enough for microphones to pick up.

He can't even keep his lies/stories straight.  And yes, this is nothing, and any other president would have laughed it off.  Yet, he's kept this in the news cycle for 3 or 4 days now.

He might be the weakest person ever, for he cannot admit any kind of fault or mistake, no matter how trivial.

He also believes apologizing is a sign of weakness. And he's said that he's never asked God for forgiveness because he's done nothing to ask for forgiveness for.

"I needed to save the one word and 37 milliseconds because I don't have any time to waste." - Says the guy who spends 90% of each day on twitter and//or watching Fox News. And whose managed 161 rounds of golf in his short 2 years in office.

Any adult would have done this.  "Oof, I just called Tim Cook 'Tim Apple'.  Sorry, Tim -- I think I need more coffee."

We all make small inconsequential mistakes, and often.  The average adult understands there is no shame in laughing them off.  The narcissist is determined to go down with the shit.  I mean "ship".  Ha ha, I goofed!

Then:

Quote

So, imagine how spectacular a day Kim Jong-Il had back in 1994. The North Korean dictator, who died on Saturday of heart failure at age 69, scorched the 7,700-yard Pyongyang Golf Course in a stunning 38-under par, 34.

Quote

According to reports, Kim, who was 52 at the time, carded no worse than a birdie on any hole at the country’s only golf club. He also had five holes-in-one in the round, which was witnessed by 17 armed bodyguards.

“He is an excellent golfer,” Park Young Man, the club professional, told the International Herald Tribune a couple of months after Kim’s historic round, which was widely-reported in North Korea’s state-controlled media.

Now:

The victory list on Donald Trump's locker at Palm Beach undeniably looks impressive: the gold plaques commemorate his championship triumphs in 1999, 2001, 2009, 2012, 2013, and the recently-added 2018. But there appears to be a problem with the new plaque which claims he was the 2018 men's club champion—because he didn't play in the tournament.

It is sort of weird that he shows a level of understanding here. He seems to be aware what he is asking for is unconstitutional.

Walk me through whatever it is President Hamster is trying to say here . . . what's 80%, what's 20%, what's (not) Constitutional?

I'm reading it as "This is a good end for the country, through illegal means.  That'll get you an 80% on any test.  If it was very cool and very legal, it would be 100%"

Illegal because it's an end-around on the Congressional "power of the purse"?

I think he's trying to say that "strengthening border security" is an issue that 80% of the general public agrees with.  I doubt these numbers exist in any sort of meaningful poll, but I think this is the thought his tiny hands were trying to type.

This is another impeachable offense. It's a direct violation of his Oath of Office.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my Ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Probably polls taken at the most recent CPAC and NRA conferences.

The real problem is the National Emergencies Act. He has statutory authority to do what he did because Congress gave it to him.

I'm not aware of any provisions in the NEA that allow the president to re-allocate funds that have be appropriated by congress and signed into law by the president.

I think this is what they will use to support re-allocation of funds. We're going to find out soon if courts agree.

What a goddamn hail mary play then.

Quote
(a)
In the event of a declaration of war or the declaration by the President of a national emergency in accordance with the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.) that requires use of thearmed forces, the Secretary of Defense, without regard to any other provision of law, may undertakemilitary construction projects, and may authorize the Secretaries of the military departments to undertake military construction projects, not otherwise authorized by law that are necessary to support such use of the armed forces. Such projects may be undertaken only within the total amount of funds that have been appropriated for military construction, including funds appropriated for family housing, that have not been obligated.
(b)
When a decision is made to undertake military construction projects authorized by this section, the Secretary of Defense shall notify, in an electronic medium pursuant to section 480 of this title, the appropriate committees of Congress of the decision and of the estimated cost of the constructionprojects, including the cost of any real estate action pertaining to those construction projects.
(c)
The authority described in subsection (a) shall terminate with respect to any war or national emergency at the end of the war or national emergency.

As far as I'm aware, not having a SecDef may throw a wrench into things because it's part of the statutory requirement for invoking this per subsections (a) and (b). In addition to the fact that governors have been sending troops back from the border citing no need for their presence, which significantly undermines subsection (a). And also, the funds that they're taking are more than just military construction - specifically the early retirement and recruitment bonus "pots" of money.

I hope the courts see it for what it is: a blatant and cynical attempt to thwart the will of Congress.

Trump started violating his Oath of Office before he stepped down from the dais on 1/20/2017.

I completely agree, but it's still important to point them out as they occur. Especially since we have so many posters that can never seem to recall Trump committing impeachable offenses.

He truly does have a mental illness.  And what's really bad is that so many people not only choose to ignore the fact that it manifests itself in some really damaging ways, they actually support it and think somehow is illness is a strength.

It's on message, though- he really hates socialism!

Trump’s budget is essentially a document envisioning America as a giant police state with no social safety net. Wall and military spending is where our tax dollars should be allocated.

If you want state sponsored healthcare and education, your best bet is to get arrested and thrown in jail where those services are provided.

Those clips, combined with this budget are giving Democratic media folks such huge advertising boners today.

The olds have already proven themselves to be motivated by fear.

I hope the ads designed around this theme scare the shit out of them.

Use the scary, movie preview voiceover guy and everything.

They're shaking down the country.  Giving themselves huge tax cuts, with some crumbs for ordinary people, while cutting spending on healthcare, education, the environment, cancer research, and so on.  Meanwhile they're upping spending that goes to their military contractor cronies, see Erik Prince,, while trump pockets all the emoluments.
