  2. Dude you are so right. Like when a guy gets arrested for paying for a prostitute, but the hooker is a cop and the guy doesn’t actually get his dick sucked - he gets to walk. Happens all the time! Or bribing a police officer is only a crime if the officer takes the money, soliciting isn’t a crime! Jesus Christ I didn’t realize people were this dumb

  3. I think Tom Herman picking Sam as the standard instead of using him as an outlier has ruined the locker room. They want everyone to be as dedicated, bleed orange, tough as nails, semi retarded focused on one thing - bringing the longhorns glory. In reality he's got a bunch of really talented mercenaries who chose Texas because it was the way their star could shine the brightest. Mercenaries don't bleed orange, they don't put up with mediocrity and resolve themselves. They look for the next way out to showcase their talents. A coach who can handle the mercenaries is what Texas needs and has needed for a long time. I think the next coach has to come from the NFL not G5 - someone who treats every play like a transaction and if you suck you get cut. Look at what Saban, Urban and Dabo all have in common. They will cut a bitch. They will sit the fuck out of a potential Heisman quarterback because they like the look better with another guy. (Kelly Bryant AND Jalen Hurts) They coach to win fucking football games and embarrass other teams, that's what mercenaries live for. Ed O has something special brewing at LSU, but I think that car runs out of gas before it gets to the finish line - there are only so many Joe Burrows in the world and his team needs a Joe Burrow to function. Everyone jealous of KSU for bringing up a coach who knows football is a pathetic coddled loser. Football at the elite level isn't about the X's and O's it's about making big dick plays and capitalizing on mistakes. Elite players didn't get elite by just being able to fucking run fast.

  5. this is my take. we've all heard gramps say something bigoted or stupid. we shake our heads, accept that once a person reaches a certain age, thoughts on certain topics become calcified. the brain has stopped regenerating or whatever, and intellectual curiosity gets turned to zero. mix in cte, and you have a potentially volatile mix on your hands. my wife got a visor autographed by earl probably 15-16 years ago, and the dude was in bad shape at that time. it was irresponsible for bohls to print that quote. exploiting the elderly for a few extra clicks is not a good look. but we all know that bohls is a fucking hack, so no surprise. it's regrettable that earl went there, but that sort of shit happens when people get old.

  7. Because the assertion - as laid out - is actually a binary choice. Elizabeth Warren or Donald Trump. “I’m afraid ‘average Americans’ will find Warren too far out there so they’ll stick with a racist fascist sexist wannabe dictator.” And I don’t think that’s true at all and it’s stupid to repeat that kind of internet poisoned punditry. And to even suggest banning fracking and M4A is somehow equal on the “Can’t both be bad” scale to putting kids in cages and abuse of power and strong arming foreign governments for political gain is ......... the most Republican Convert garbage I’ve ever heard.

  8. It's not that you're bringing recruiting info to the board. It's that you've chosen to really hone in on breaking down the recruitment of a guy that Texas doesn't give a fuck about pursuing. You're scouring boards across the Internet for insights on Antonia Doyle, then sprinting back here and passionately explaining and defending what's going on with his recruitment. I don't give one shit if you are an aggie or not. Just be honest about it. Many of us have been on the boards discussing recruiting for years. Decades even. The aggie-in-sheep's-clothing maneuver last played out successfully on the boards in roughly 1997. Nothing you're attempting is new or interesting.

  11. What you are going to hear from this point forward is the "everybody does it" defense. The one that WashPrak is embracing for example. Where Obama and Biden (at Obama's direction) threatened to withold aid if a corrupt prosecutor who was not prosecuting corruption was allowed to reamain in place is the same as... I will meet with you, and release Congressionally approved military aid it you look into Joe Biden's son. In other word's, actually being corrupt, is the same as fighting against corruption, in the merry trumpster squirrel cage. While the Dems are most certainly partisan I find it hard to imagine that not a single Dem Congressman would not vote to investigate if Obama was using his office for political advantage with the leverage of tax payer military aid. If the situation were reversed, simply by putting a (D) behind the President's name the GOP would vote exactly the opposite way it voted yesterday. This is the definition of hypocrisy. And what is so dangerous about the Republican's deciding that pinciples do not matter at all, only whether you are a crip or a blood is simply all that matters. Facts are now something that the GOP simply ignores. There is really no use engaging those that are willing to build an argument on a policy of hypocrisy, and intellectually dishonest presentation of "facts." Because you simply cannot have a constructive argument with those that do not embrace factual material. Without honestly from the person you are engaging in discussion with, you might as well just yell out numbers and colors instead of presenting factual information. You come to the same end at the end of the discussion. They hypocrit sits on his stack dishonest information and insists it's a mountain of "facts." On the other hand it is a rare thing indeed that we are going to see in the coming weeks. Day after day of dishonestly and hypocrisy from the elected Representatives of the GOP. Yet the facts will continue to plod forward. On the stations that value our country and whose owners are citizens, this will be most apparent. On the single foriegn controlled news channel, the lies and deception will continue. Because a solid market share to sell advertising is a LOT more important than presenting the truth to that foreign controlled station.

  12. Listen to this one-eyed raven. Show him where in the constitution it says specifically that it is illegal to ask Ukraine to investigate Hunter Biden (must be those exact words or doesn’t count). Furthermore, name just ONE other president that has been impeached for withholding aid to Ukraine unless they investigate Hunter Biden for political gain. You can’t! Check fuckin mate libtards.

  13. Yep, and all this nonsense about "motivating players" being the #1 trait in a coach; Bellicheck and Saban would laugh their ass off at that. The most important thing a coach can do is make sure his team does the exact right thing on every play of every series of every game. Know your role, know what you do/don't do well. Do your job. The elite coaches would take a group of athletes that know that and play with 80% heart, over a team that is undisciplined but plays with 120% heart and kisses their coach and whatever other nonsense Herman fantasizes about. Trust in doing the right thing is a two way street. You can't ask for discipline and reliability from your players if you as coach keep your underqualified buddies around on staff, who are doing the players the disservice of giving them shitty coaching. You can't expect excellence of execution from your team if they can't trust you to build schemes and game plans that set them up for success. If I were a player I wouldn't take Herman's pleas for professionalism and execution seriously either. If he can't put aside his buddies and his ego to make his team successful, why would the players? He is setting his team up for failure for selfish and personal reasons. Excellence and consistency and professionalism start at the top. Even the peripheral things like Michelle Herman's trashy Twitter wars are a microcosm of the whole thing. Do you think Bellicheck or Saban or Meyer or Payton or Popovich or whoever would be okay with their wife doing that? Tom Herman is not professional enough for this job.

  14. You know I get to thinking every so often that there is no way Trump wins reelection and then every beginning of the month I'm given a stark reminder on why Trump will be reelected. I'm looking out my window at work to a long line of disheveled overweight white retirees standing there waiting to see an available teller. The type that comes in every 1st or 3rd to cash out retirement checks (today happens to be one of those days where as far as banking is concerned the 1st and 3rd are the same day) because they "don't trust computers". Later they'll be coming into my office to explain how a check they wrote to their church got lost so they'll need to close out their account and open a new one. While we're opening an account or financing a car for 75 months they'll casually drop how well Trump is doing as it's their only real human contact they'll have today outside of the cashier at HEB (their kids will give them a call once a week or so) who will only give them a courteous nod. Without any irony they'll pivot from Trump's mandate from heaven to discuss just how awful medical care prices have become in this country. Usually I'm able to shift them from Trump to how awful my generation has become since none of us have jobs or they'll go on a 30 minute tirade about how Mexicans are ruining Texas (I guess they can't see the picture of my Mexican wife on my desk). These people are scared to death of the world in 2019 and with their help Trump is going to win again unless we can get one hell of a flu season. [/brisketledgerant]

  15. My favorite way to debunk the "Dems are stuffing ballots with illegal votes" with open borders is why the fuck would they do it in California, where they regularly win by ~4 million votes, and not allocate 800k to Texas, 22k to Wisconsin, 10k to Michigan and 44k to Pennsylvania. Shiiiit, you can move all your illegal votes to those 4 states in 2016 and still win California by 3 million votes!

  22. The problem with this update and Herman is that he thinks the problem is between younger and older players. It obviously ignores the potential fact that perhaps all the players dislike him, and dislike their position coaches because there is no real shoulder to cry on, it's just bad cop after bad cap. Allegedly. But i'd expect nothing less from a narcissist to preach about human nature to blame other people, all the while ignoring that all the problems on the team are because of the players, and not himself and his coaches.

  23. I'm on the train of hiring a coach that runs the locker room like what it is nowadays. A means to an end and a business transaction. The coach gets paid to win, the players play for a chance to get paid in the NFL. A coach that can win and help players get to the NFL is what Texas needs. It's what elite coaches in college football do.

  26. Ah, yes, the old "more land with hardly anyone living on it voted for this person over the other person! If we get rid of the EC, who'll speak for these open plots of soil and who'll represent the arbitrary lines on a map? The system works perfectly!" The system is outdated garbage that doesn't represent the people. And give me a break about "open borders." Both W. and Trump's ego tried to prove illegal immigrant voter fraud and couldn't. And if it's so important in the 21st century to stick with an 18th century system, you'd care more about gerrymandering since the founders' vision was that the House would grow with the population. But hey, that's also benefiting the red team morons, so I'd bet to nobody's surprise you're fine with that, too.

They only got their money because a federal investigation was started in response to a complaint and then a week later they released the money with zero explanation as to why all of a sudden the money was released. What changed? Oh yeah, the investigation. 2. Quid pro Quo doesn't require an actual exchange. One side can offer. The other side can say no. 3. Your boy Sondland changed his testimony to admit there was indeed a quid pro quo and is now something like the fifth or sixth person to readily admit it.

And much of Texas sucks 9 months out of the year, the North is fucking cold, and California is so expensive it is wildly inhibitive, etc. Every place has some form of poison folks are going to have to pick. And in the case of Ohio, there are no positives because you're surrounded by human filth.

  33. Seriously. Any able bodied and minded person who wants a job can get a job in this country. We need to fix our approach to the mental health care system in this country. There has to be some middle ground that we can occupy as a society between the abuses of institutionalization in the past and the current approach.

  36. Careful, if you stand up too fast all the sand will fall out of your pussy. He started playing at UT only 4 years after Julius Whittier was allowed on the team. This is not a defense of Earl, it's just a reminder that the 60+ people lived through a different era, particularly in the south. Old people say stupid shit all the time because at some point people stop evolving and settle into the norms which cultivated their identity When he grew up racism was overt and derogatory, a lot of what we currently consider racism wouldn't have registered 50 years ago. I don't believe Earl having the opinion that black football players are more athletic than white football players makes him racist. The PC pendulum has swung so far in the other direction that all the tiptoeing around broken glass appears disingenuous. Its a dumb statement because there are plenty of very good white QBs, and it makes him sound dumb. CTE is also a hell of a drug. But you getting so ragey about it reminds me of the run of the mill racist who goes way overboard trying to prove they aren't the racist they actually are.
